Hiii!! Just wanted to share my new gen 4 OCs! Their names are Dreamspark Nightlight and Kalimiri!
Dreamspark is... Very sleepy. She does however have a brain that's just working 24/7 which often makes her a good pony for others to rely on for answers to problems. She will often find answers while she sleeps and then tell her friends once she's awake. She works as a taste tester in Sugarcube Corner and helps Pinkie and the Cake family come up with new ideas or simply make sure what they bake is yummy enough.
Kalimiri is a qilin, who lives in the mountains in the far corners of equestria. He first met Dreamspark in a dream, and the two talked to each other, and eventually met when Dreamspark (with the help of her friends (Fluttershy, Pinkie, Twilight and Luna) because she's much too sleepy to journey anywhere alone) voyaged across Equestria to meet him. They eventually started dating and he moved to Ponyville (and now works as an ambassador for the qilin).
Before someone asks, no, qilin are NOT kirin, although they're based on the same creature (just that kirins are the Japanese version and qilins are the Chinese version lmao). They live much differently than kirins (while kirins live in a forest village, they live in a mountain village hidden by clouds), and they have the ability to walk on air and mostly eat fish, and can't do unicorn-like magic (while I think kirins are vegetarians like ponies, and they certainly can't fly lmao)
The reason why I made him one is uhhh well basically when I created him I didn't realize kirins were a thing and then I was too attached to the idea to change it lmao
[OC] I have finally drawn my new ponysona after a bazillion years of procrastination (it fits, she too is a master procrastinator lmao). Her name is Dreamspark Nightlight and she is very eepy sleepy (literally me fr)
Not sure if I ever shared this here, but I finally colored these old ref images for a story of mine that tackles feminity in anime (and sexism in Japan as a whole). I'll add the old cover pic for it as well
So this story is called Kawaii Mahou Shoujo Ayako-Chan, it's about a girl called Ayako who's a gym rat and a huge magical girl fan who gets recruited to be a magical girl... But you quickly realize it's basically a cult that preys on insecure women who have been rejected by society to use them as canon fodder for their dark cause. It follows Ayako through her recruitment and then eventually her realizing the truth of the institution and running away from it, eventually learning to be true to herself without having to confirm to society's standards in what a woman needs to be.
Usually I love making my anime satire to be super super exaggerated (if you've read Pretty Petal Daycare you'll know what I mean lmao), but this one is actually the opposite here. It's a very dark story and unlike PPD or others I don't put any humor into it at all because it needs to properly show the darkness of the situation.
Oh also don't mind Shi over there... He... He'll make sense later in the story I promise lmao.
Question regarding autism and trans people
So. There's this well-known thing with autism, where for men and women, most often, the symptoms will show as different. And because most of the study cases in health used to be men, it means that autistic women would often be misdiagnosed because their autism symptoms showed up differently.
That said... What about trans people?
I'm gonna take my MtF friend as an example because she's the one trans person I've interacted with most recently who also has autism (given that we live together for now). She's grown up and done her puberty as a bio man, and only just recently (like maybe... 2 years ago I think?) started HRT and whatnot. We both are autistic (I'm a cis woman) and considered "level 1" but our symptoms are EXTREMELY different.
For example, I'm more of a "classic autistic girl". I'm very quiet, I mask a LOT when in public, I don't stim (or very rarely), I have more "normal" special interests, and I struggle mostly with ARFID and anxiety. If I have a meltdown, I'll mostly just stay quiet and retreat into myself, cry silently, I very rarely show anything. My sister is also autistic, and her symptoms are also very similar to mine, although she is more extroverted, but even then we have mostly similar symptoms
Meanwhile, my friend's symptoms, I've noticed, seem to be more... "Classically male". She's more extroverted, she doesn't really follow social boundaries, she never masks, she never really changes herself in public. She stims often (mostly vocal stims). She doesn't seem to have problems with food or any sort of anxiety either. And when she has a meltdown, it's very loud and sometimes violent.
Now obviously everyone is different, yadda yadda... But... Is that... Related? Or am I looking too deep into it?
I have heard terms like "socialized as AGAB" and whatnot, and how growing up being treated as one gender or going through the hormonal changes of one gender prior to transitioning can sometimes affect the way you act after the transition. But is that really a thing?
... honestly I wish there was more research on trans people, it's kinda hard to find stuff that really seems to explain what I'm curious about. I sometimes have questions and idk where to look other than... Ask here, I guess
Since a lot of people have asked... I drew Lars (and our other characters) to show the integration of gem DNA into their systems. Read the description to better understand before commenting anything pls
So for those who saw my last post, you may have wondered "what's up with Lion? Why does he look so different? And what does that mean for Lars?"
I actually hadn't thought of Lars when I designed Lion I'm gonna be honest lmao (I uh... forgot he existed...)
And well, like stated in that last post as well, it was also an early draft so I hadn't really thought of everything yet either in details, so I couldn't really answer everyone's questions. But here's some new lore stuff!!
So first off: How do gems work?
Gems are physical beings made up of ever-shifting and interlocking cells. They are natural shapeshifters by designs and can morph into anything. That said, some species are more resistant to their DNA than others. Like, for example... humans! Humans' DNA, when coming into contact with gem DNA, tends to dominate, which means that a human hybrid (by any form) would be more like their original self than another creature (theoretically, obviously, we haven't seen many other gem-animal hybrids so it's hard to tell if this could happen with other creatures as well).
Then, there's the method of hybridization:
- Steven is a "pure hybrid", as he was made naturally with the union of a gem and a human. Given that Rose was in a human form as she carried him, and obviously that Greg was a human, once he was born (literally absorbed his mother's cells until there was nothing left), he looked very humanoid. HOWEVER, as he grew, his gem side manifested more and more, and he learned to accept it as a part of him, and let it take partial control so he could more easily fit in the new world he was discovering. Hence, image 2
- Connie was a normal human, nothing out of the ordinary... but when she started fusing with Steven, due to the way fusion works, his cells basically grew within her own, slowly changing her every time. It's kinda like a really weird freaky alien cancer... although it won't kill her, because the gem cells are adaptative enough to be able to blend within her body and function relatively normally... but it definitely, over time, will overtake most of her body
- Lars died. The explosion and then fall killed him instantly, in a very gruesome way (although thank god he was no longer conscious to feel that pain). When Steven healed him, the gem DNA immediately went to heal his wounds and mostly stayed in those areas (had he not been wounded this heavily, he may have looked more like Steven does). Just like Connie's "tumours", it doesn't hurt him, although unlike Connie, he has had a lot more gem cells inside of him (mostly in the chest and stomach area where the majority of the damage was) and thus his skin color, face, and internal organs are a lot more changed (as we can see in the image). Also, unlike Lion, who was healed by a full gem, Lars was healed by Steven who is half-gem, which also is why he's not as gem-like than Lion
Me and my twin sister's Sonic OCs! They're Ikko the Sloth and Curl the Rhino!
Ikko and Curl are twin sisters (adoptive, obviously). Most people, upon learning they're related, are often initially confused, but immediately start seeing resemblances in their personalities. One could say they... share a single braincell most of the time. But they do mean well!
They're both non-fighters, Ikko because she's too slow and Curl because she's a healer. Game-wise, they would work as a team for a "pacifist" playthrough where you have to mostlyavoid enemies or solve puzzles to get rid of them rather than fight them directly. Ikko is very slow, but she can climb and grab almost anything (even reach places others can't), and she has a LOT of health and stamina. Curl, meanwhile, is fast, and she can hover with her magic umbrella, as well as heal people with it, or shield Ikko (she's very tough, hits do nothing to her)
Not sure if I'll color them. We'll see
Also... Do you like them?
(re-upload because I forgot a drawing!) Just making sure everyone sees this!
Basically I had an idea a while ago to remake SU in a more gritty fashion. I've always been HUGE on speculative evolution and realistic sci-fi (yes I watched Project Hail Mary recently which reminded me of this remake and the art I made for it lmao. Other sci-fis that inspired this were Arrival, and Race to Witch Mountain)
It obviously would have some lore change for it, such as:
\- Black Diamond as the fifth diamond is canon
\- The government, MIB, cops, etc... are involved
\- Rose and Pink are different people
If you have any specific questions please do ask!! I haven't started writing the fanfic yet but I'm glad to infodump on y'all!!
I might be stupid but
Why is there a hole here?? Can you access this area?? I'm only on year 2 so idk maybe I haven't unlocked it yet. Or maybe it means nothing. Maybe I'm just going crazy trying to find all the secret passages
Crazy? I was crazy once. They locked me in a room-
[discussion] Would you have wanted Lucy to confront Karen herself directly, rather than just learn about her story from Leo?
During the Loke arc we learn that Loke (Leo) is stuck in the human world because he broke a rule and killed his owner which is forbidden. We learn then that he was owned by Karen, who was an abusive, self-centered celestial mage who would use her spirits like toys for her own amusement and often hurt them or torture them, and he "killed" her by refusing to go back to the spirit realm when she wanted him to, but also refused to help her in battles, which eventually led to her dying.
So while I did find that story interesting... I kinda wished Karen hadn't died. Maybe we could've instead have had Lucy meet Karen during a job and have her confront her directly, maybe she sees Karen abusing Aries or Leo (assuming in this situation Loke doesn't exist or the timeline is different).
I feel like it could've been an interesting scene, to have Lucy see something like this happen. See how she'd react, etc...
What do you guys think tho?
Throwback to when I made redesigns of the Monster Hugh cast last year and then got burned out and never posted the full thing online lmao
I know I didn't draw all of them, I ended up not finishing the series because I was burned out. I might eventually keep going if you guys really wanna see it tho (btw I drew them "naked" initially because I wanted them to be like proper dolls that can change clothes. No genitalia obviously, just regular doll anatomy lmao. I can share those in the comments if anyone's curious)

Is it me or
Is there just a bunch of new people here who are posting/commenting just like, hot women for the sake of it? Like I'm seeing posts of oversexualised characters with just the name/source and nothing else. Or comments under bad designs saying "smash" or "hot"
I just feel like we're kinda straying from the intent of the group (making fun of men who are absolutely clueless about women's anatomy and/or artists and companies who sexualize women in art for profits or goon bait)
Like why are some people treating this sub like just a sub to look at hot girls lmao
[OC] He's usually awake with others in the room but I noticed he doesn't mind falling asleep even if I'm here. He does also like going in my room at night and burying himself under the blankets. I guess he feels safe around me. Sweet baby <3
Context: a while back on this sub I made a comment about how overly cute anime girls were so clumsy and inhuman-looking, they should be put in a special daycare for their "condition". People really seemed to wanna see this as an actual short story so despite me being sleep deprived as fuck I wrote it. And then I spent the rest of the week drawing a cover for it.
Here it is! I usually don't draw realistic stuff so this was a bit hard for me. Nonetheless, I hope it's up to your standards (uncanny and a bit pitiful).
Btw I kinda am thinking of making this a sequel. Or at least making like "accurate medical diagrams" of like a normal child vs someone with "Hyper Craniofacial Neotony Syndrome" (or more simply called, "Moe Disease"). Let's all work on this story together! Do you have any suggestions?
Link to the fic so far:
I'm talking tropes like a girl who is so clumsy it's a bit concerning how many times she falls or drops something. Or female character who have literally no noses or super teensie tiny mouths, or eyes so big it's taking up half their face (looking at you Clannad). A female character moaning and blushing while she does something simple like eating.
(Please do check the comments before posting btw, so you don't accidentally say the same thing as someone else)
(I am asking for a specific reason, if you know you know)
