This has been bothering me since Chapter 5 released.

Chapters 1-3, he does nothing and seems like a normal, if annoying store clerk

Chapter 4, he's outside his shop while operating a grill on another street. Maybe he kept Toriel distracted and away from the Church on purpose, who knows.

Now he's not even trying to hide his shortcuts, and the Bread! The fucking Bread!!!
