I told myself I'd upload my island when I finished it, but 1000+ hours later & I'm starting to think that it'll never actually feel finished 😅 Hupperdook is the island I've had since I started playing back in 2020 ~ no resets, no theme, just vibes.

Thank you to everyone who uploads their islands here & to Pinterest, it's been a great source of inspiration so I hope that maybe part of my island can inspire someone else! If you do visit, please tell me what you think! I'm curious if other people can tell which parts I think are unfinished or if there's any sections that could use an overhaul.

(the island name, Hupperdook, is a reference to Critical Role c2 if anyone was curious)

I've been thinking about learning how to DJ as a hobby for a little bit, but it seems like it's going to cost $100s of dollars (even if I were to get used equipment) just to start learning.

Looks like https://mixxx.org/ is a good free software option, but I'd still have to buy a bunch of tracks + a controller + decent headphones to even decide if this is something I want to persue. Not interested in this becoming a career (I feel strongly about not monetizing my hobbies), but not sure if DJing is even worth investing as a hobby since the start up cost is so high. I don't even know if I'm going to even like it!

Any cost-saving tips for someone just starting out ? What gear is essential to buy right away vs. what can I skip in the begining?

unless OP specifically asks is something is too short or shows too much skin, you should NOT be offering commentary about if their outfit is appropriate for the office. why would you assume that you know someone's work dress code better than them?

this is what i wore to work today and i know that it wouldn't be appropriate for many workplaces, but it is very normal in mine. my boss is actually wearing jean shorts + crop top today as well, but doesn't even have a button down to cover her shoulders.

i do marketing in the cannabis industry & our office is made up of women in thier late 20s - early 30s. we have different standards for what's appropriate than a law firm on the east coast or a therapist's office in a small midwestern town. if someone's outfit wouldn't work in your office, you should consider that maybe they don't work in your office. don't hold them to the same standard unless they've provided conext for what kind of job they have & it's similar to yours.

modesty policing is explicitly against rule 15, so please don't clutch your pearls if someone posts their work fit featuring a skirt that shows off their ankles.
