Reminder- this is not a “name and shame” sub. I’ve removed 2 today.

We don’t allow bashing posts. It’s not the purpose of the sub. What if people make up false allegations? We aren’t here to investigate. There are places to do this, but it’s not here.

I painted a backpack in honor of Aunt Gladys from Weapons

I loved this movie. I wish I had seen it in theaters because it would have been a great crowd reaction. Unless the crowd sucked in which case maybe it’s best that I watched it at home…

I painted a backpack with Mary

I didn’t use her “kill everyone of yall” quote because that would be tricky to wear in public.

Are these the same toad? Top is the toad currently here, bottom is the toad that was here a month ago and I thought was gone. Photo quality due to my attempts to not get too close.

The patterns make me think same, but do all of these toads look the exact same? I feel like the new one is slightly skinnier, maybe a bit smaller. But he hangs out in the door frame just like Sam used to do before he left after a big storm on July 4th. I even made a tribute video to Sam on TikTok. Could he be back?

Just a couple more days left on the beautiful Allure of the Seas. Look at this pretty pic I took. I love nighttime on the ship.

Question- were Elliot pages and Robert Pattinson’s characters brothers? I can’t get over how much they resemble each other.

I was very confused by the entire movie, but were they supposed to be brothers? I assumed so, but then there was a line near the end that made me think maybe not. If so, great casting.

One Wish Willow purse I painted.

I found this triangle while purse and knew what it had to become. Such a rare find, both color and shape.

The Caretaker by Marcus Kliewer- a rant

I hate this book and I’m so disappointed. I was hyped for it. But here I am, giving up on it after hours and hours of the audiobook. Let’s talk about it.

Positive- in the interest of being fair, I greatly appreciate that there was no love story. Why is that so hard to find in horror and haunted house type books?

Negatives- the biggest one- I despise stories that are all about “rules”. The best way to sum this one up is by the sheer amount of “times” given to the main character. 3 minutes for a light to be off. 1 minute for a fallen photo. 3 seconds for looking at a visitor. I am instantly turned off by these stupid rules that have such rigid structure but don’t make any damn sense if you really think about it.

Then, the rules don’t seem to matter when it’s convenient to the plot. The girl she met (Lucy) said she slept through her night watching the house. So… wtf? But also, Macie fails every challenge given, but the rules then pivot and give her another challenge or chance. But she keeps failing and keeps getting more and more chances. So like, just sit there.

Also, I am so, so sick of stories giving a main character some sort of dead relative that they can keep flashing back to. I was listening to the audiobook, and it got to the point that when I heard “blue light, red light…” I just skipped to the next chapter. I do not care about her dad. He is not part of this story. I hate her sister, she’s so annoying.

I was going to power through the story, but I simply cannot spend my time and energy on a book that I hate. I almost turned it off when I thought she was gonna torch a bunny, but then she let it go and I was like “ok….. but now she’s failed?” but it turns out, oh, that was bad but we will change the rules so that none of that mattered. Can someone spoil the ending for me?

Bucees has been having voting on their Instagram stories for the next year’s holiday shirts. These were the Bucees options for Halloween shirts for this coming year.

I’ll include the results as they were when I screenshotted them. It was only 18 minutes after posting, so things could have changed quite a bit. Do any of you follow them and vote? I didn’t know if they actually used the results but they did for this years st Patrick’s day shirt, so my logic is that it will be one of these.

The Bay (2012) - great 4th of July horror movie

I had seen this a very long time ago and forgot everything about it, so I made my sister watch it with me today. It was like small monster Cloverfield and we greatly enjoyed it. That jump scare at the end got both of us soooooo good. Might be the best jump scare of all time. I do see this recommended every now and then, but in case you haven’t seen it, give it a watch if you enjoy found footage!

Another update on the toad that wants into my house. I have followed the advice from here, and look who found his way into my attempt at a toad abode! I’ve never been happier! Also, there’s a second smaller toad out there now, too. We are getting a water feature tomorrow.

A theme night first for me- 50s/ 60s night.

After so many surveys complaining about the repetitive and overdone nature of the 70s/80s nights, I thought we were doing well when my last cruise had a Y2K night. So imagine my surprise to see a 50s/ 60s night on my upcoming sailing on the Allure. Who is asking for this? Why can’t we get a single 90s night?

A rule of thumb for entertaining is to cater the music and vibe to the time when most of your guests were teenagers. So are they catering to a 80-90 year old crowd? If they are, the 11 pm parties don’t make any sense.

Update on frog (turns out it’s a toad) who wants into my house- the toad abode construction has begun.

Thanks for all the feedback on my last post! I have since figured out that this is a toad. We have named him Samwise because he’s gonna be our gardener.

He’s still hanging out in the door frame staring into our house with hope and wonder in his eyes. I bought a terra cotta pot and gathered some paving bricks. We do not have a soil area for him, we have concrete, rocks and grass. For now, his abode is next to where he’s always at so he can see it and know I care about him.

He does hop around the rocks some, so we are converting the corner of the rocks under where the rainwater pours into a toad abode. We have some things to make and gather to imitate the ground. I’m thinking a tray of dirt and nature things like leaves. Then a fountain/ water feature of some kind. I will update as our toad paradise takes shape.

A frog appears to want to come into our house. How can I make him happier outside?

Photos taken through a 2 or so week span. He seems to really want in our house, but there are so many bugs and moisture pockets down where he’s at. Do you think he wants to be our friend? Can I set something up outside to let him know I love him, but he’s better off outside? Thank you!

My theater, tonight’s late showings. Blue means seats available, x means seat sold. This movie is still going strong.

u/Kaylascreations — 2 months ago

I saw 2 movies this week at 10:45 pm on a weekday. Disclosure Day and Obsession. What a difference of theater experiences.

Saw disclosure day on Monday night. It came out that Friday. It’s a massive blockbuster movie, Spielberg and millions of dollars invested. Me and my sister were the only 2 in the theater. The movie was awful garbage, we hated it.

Saw Obsession tonight, Thursday night. Same theater. The movie has been out for a month. It is a low budget movie with unknown actors. I could not believe how many seats were full. The movie was incredible, I’m scarred for life. Possibly the most unsettling movie I’ve ever seen.

I love to see audiences showing up for the movies that deserve it and not just seeing what critics are paid to enjoy. Thoughts?

Anyone remember or have any memory of the pedestrian overpass in St. Peters that went over hwy 70 near Mid Rivers?

My family is trying to put the pieces together.

Epic is a stunning park where the music and soundscapes have been carefully composed and planned. They play a huge part in the park experience. Until the family comes in with 3 kids all blasting their phone videos at top volume no matter where they are.

I’m seriously so sick of people young and old, adult and kid, who think that it’s acceptable to play their phones at full volume in a public space. We could not escape this. I know this isn’t park specific but it’s more apparent when you’re enjoying the wizarding vibes of 1920s Paris in cafe de La sirene and suddenly you’re hearing brain rot videos blasting from an iPad from a table away. Most of the time, it’s kids so young, they shouldn’t even know how to hold a phone.
