Seoul 2022 - The Streets of Jong-ro

I’m back home now after spending nearly 6 years living abroad in South Korea, but still editing photos from my time there 😅 Here is one that I took at night with my Canon 650D. The neon signs created a cool effect on the wet street. All editing was done in Darktable and GIMP.

Did anyone else notice Geddy’s new keyboard?

Having seen Geddy with the Roland Fantom X-7 for years, it was interesting to not see him with it on the current tour, and he hasn’t really seemed to discuss the change during recent interviews. It has been replaced with an Oberheim OB-X8. It sounds nice, producing a more authentic analog sound for the songs of the analog synthesizer eras. What are your thoughts on his new keyboard setup?

I applied your feedback, what do you think?

Hello everyone! I recently posted the official release of this song, but received some suggestions afterwards on how it could be improved. I appreciate those of you who offered feedback. So, since the official “full” release already passed, I decided to create a shortened version with a slightly different arrangement. I also decided to boost the ”retro vibe“ further by increasing the dynamic range, and the dynamic range rating is now at “DR14,” definitely on the high end for an electronic song but “retro” at the same time 😅 Feel free to share your thoughts.

For those who hadn’t seen the original post, this song is a fusion of two of my earlier songs, “The Cube” (inspired by Y2K-era Eurotrance) and “The Mobius” (which contained more retro elements and vocoder work). The official release was over 4 minutes in length, this version is less than 3 minutes long.

All composing and production was completed with LMMS and Audacity.

Andrew Kushner - "The Cube x The Mobius" 2026 Mix - Official Release

Here is a song that I’ve been working on in LMMS, making use of the automation tools to add dynamics to the overall sound. Audacity was used for final touch-ups as well as for creating the vocoder samples in this song. I continued my recent trend of maintaining additional dynamic range in the final version. Feel free to share your thoughts as I’m always interested in improving my production skills, and if there is anything you are curious about regarding how I created this song, feel free to ask 🙂

Jacksonville, FL Storm 2026.7.25

A huge shelf cloud came over my home today and brought stormy weather with it. I may have spotted a funnel cloud, but it was very short-lived.

Gangnam 2022

Gangnam near the end of the “COVID era” in Korea. Also, this was one of my first photos with my Canon 650D and when I still only had the original kit lens. For a kit lens, I think it did alright 😎

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 (PS2) in 4K HDR

Hello everyone. I produced an HDR gameplay video for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 using HDR color grading to show what the game may have looked like with HDR graphics. The 4K HDR video quality option is currently available on YouTube. Compared to the version on my physical PS2, this is definitely a step up in graphics 😅 (PCSX2).

I grew up playing this game when it was brand new on a CRT monitor. Porsches were a shared interest between my father and I. This game really broadened my knowledge of Porsche and the history of the company. As a result of this game, the Porsche 911 GT1, Porsche 356 Speedster, Porsche 928 GTS, and Porsche 911 (996) Turbo have become among my favorite cars. Along with the other classic Need for Speed games, I still have the game discs and play them on Windows 11. I have been playing them in 4K for a while now, and decided it was time to upscale video footage of the game to 8K with higher bit rates for better quality on YouTube. In the provided link, you can choose up to 8K for the video quality setting if you are using a device and browser that support 8K. Is there anyone else who played though the pre-Underground Need for Speed games back in the day (that includes the V-Rally games and Motor City Online)? If you decide to check out the video, enjoy!

Monolithic Studios was a race track in the 1997 video game Need for Speed II (and its “SE” version). The track featured references to various films as it progressed. It is one of my favorite video game race tracks all of time (I played the game back when it was new for hours trying to figure out how to unlock it). I have been working on recreating the “Bladerunner” section of the race track from scratch in Blender. I still have the game disc, and took several screenshots and videos from within the game to recreate this section as accurately as possible. Note, I didn’t have much 3D modeling experience prior to starting on this a week ago, but the project seems to be going well. I just moved the project over to Blender Cycles for a massive boost in graphics, really bringing this race track from 1997 to the future 😂
