Which is better for a stun/grenade build?

Which is better for a stun/grenade build?

I’ve been having some decent success with this build primarily around rapid shot and barrage specced as “grenade” skills with cold imbuement, full applied alchemy charm set and then as many buffs to CC/grenade damage as possible. I normally do a few barrages to CC groups with stun grenades and cold, then lean into rapid shot for damage (which still does CC, but just in a more focused and sustainable way).

Game watching in Sacramento?

They show live on air (doubtful)? Outside of YouTube TV, are there any other streaming services for the games? Or is Sacramento blacked out in market?

Open up Rirga Bay to get to the MO planets

The MO planets are not on the map. You must access them through Rirga Bay by selecting it. It is not obvious and I spent a solid 10 minutes looking for them.

PSA: Autocannon and new armor go together like PB and chocolate

The Autocannon has always been good and very well balanced. It's only downsides have been the handling and reload (which was recently buffed to make it even better than it was). Guess what the new armor does? Makes those two weaknesses nearly non-existent. The handling and support reload buff make this thing an absolute dream to use with the new armor.

It's especially good against the new faction as it will stun lock the Crushers from range and drop them in about 4-5 shots from Flak mode. Half second reload after that and you're on your way.

Another quick review

TLDR: Got mine about a week ago and absolutely love it. It may not be for everyone, but it’s great for me and could be for you.

My situation: I have been using a top of the line Razer 16 from 2024 (RTX 4070, Intel i9 etc.) for my gaming since I travel a lot for work. My thought process was I wanted a laptop that was essentially as powerful as a desktop so that I could just plug in my 4K monitor when at home. My plan has worked great! But the one notable exception to it was when I run games at max settings at 4K, the laptop sounds like a friggin jet engine. It can handle it, but you can literally hear the fans from the other room. Plus I’ve been taking my steam deck on the road a lot more than the laptop recently so it has been almost exclusively used at home.

I wanted a turn-key PC that could run all my games well, quietly and for a reasonable price. SM does all of these things. It’s not quite as powerful as the laptop, but it’s close enough. With some slight graphical setting tweaks, I can still run Helldivers 2 at 4K and 50-60fps. 007: First light can be run at 2K and 60fps. In other words, this thing isn’t a potato. It can run modern games well. If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t prioritize running every graphical setting at its absolute highest and still expect 120fps, this thing works great. Plus, it’s very sleek, quiet and just works.

I also have the good grace to have some disposable income. If you are interested and budget isn’t an issue, it’s a no-brainer to me. The SM delivers exactly what it is supposed to do. Could you build a comparable one for the same or cheaper? Maybe? But I don’t have those skills. Plus, until this friggin AI bubble bursts, good luck accomplishing that at these current price points in another year because I think prices will only continue to go up.

I bought it, I love it and have zero regrets. It may not be for everyone, but if it is something you’re genuinely interested in I can heartily recommend it. It’s a wonderful machine.

How to farm Gladiator’s Triumph?

I was blessed with this thing at level 37 and haven’t taken it off since. I love it I death. However I’m now Paragon 120 and want a level 70. Doesn’t even need to be a god roll since I’m still slumming on T5.

I’m about halfway through Lord of Hatred as of now. So what’s the best way to try and get another of these?

Why would I take the Pineapple when the humble Frag exists?

I cannot for the life of me figure out how the pineapple is better than the frag in any metric, even after pineapple’s numerous buffs.

You get two more frags than a pineapple. Which also means a resupply gives you an additional grenade as well. At base you’re running around with 6 frags and 8(!) with armor. So clearly, frag has much better economy.

Then when it comes to actually killing stuff, the frag is just so much more consistent than the pineapple in my experience. The frag does 500 on the initial explosion and then creates 35 shrapnel at 110 each making each little guy contain 4,350 potential damage. Plus, since there are 35 shrapnel created, the chances of getting multiple kills is very high. I can consistently wipeout entire Hunter/warrior patrols with a couple frags.

Meanwhile the pineapple only does 300 on initial explosion, creates 18 bomblets that each do 100 damage for a total potential damage of 2100. Less than half the frag. One could argue that the AoE of the bomblets gives you more mileage than the numbers suggest, but I have never gotten more than like 4 kills out of a hunter/warrior patrols with a single grenade.

I’ve tried cooking pineapples for air burst. I’ve thrown them into crowds. I only use them on lightly armored enemies and they still don’t seem to hold a candle to the lowly frag.

Pineapple stans: show us what you’ve got!

Dual input issues? Ideas to fix please...

So I'm not entirely sure what my problem is or how to fix it so I'll just explain what I'm trying to do and what's not working...

I play a lot of Helldivers 2. One of my favorite things to do is to run into a base like a maniac with a hellbomb strapped to my back and drop it off while running away. This requires both holding forward on my left stick while also tapping down on the D-pad, followed by holding down on the D-pad with a simultaneous right stick down. This is done with my right thumb doing most of the input work while my left thumb just keeps me running on that left stick. It sounds complicated but I was pretty adept at doing that on the Elite Series 2 since the D-pad in an easily accessible place, where the left trackpad currently is.

Sounds like an easy fix, right? just remap the trackpad to be a D-pad and bingo! Except that the Track pad will not accept any button inputs while I have any pressure on the left stick. I have tried remapping the trackpad to a radial menu (with all the same directional inputs as the D-pad normally) and I've also just tried remapping the whole trackpad to a single button press. They both only work as long as I don't have any pressure on that left stick which makes the whole "running like a maniac while doing the d-pad stuff" currently impossible.

I'm sure there is an easy toggle to fix this but I can't seem to find it in steam input. Any ideas where to go from here?

PSA: The Support FRV's turret must be manually reloaded from outside the vehicle

Took me a while to realize the mechanic of the new automated turret on this thing and thought I'd share in case you're like me.

The liberator turret on top is fully automated and is very similar (if not identical?) to the armed resupply pod turret. It will automatically target nearby enemies even without anyone inside of it which makes it great for fire support while solo diving. However, it will run out of ammo, that's why it stopped shooting! Seems like maybe 60-120 rounds since it looks like it has 2 drum mags attached to it.

To reload it, there is a "reload" button on the outside of the FRV on each side of the FRV right behind the rear wheels. Every reload will draw from the same ammo pool of resupplies that players can resupply out of. I didn't count, but I think there are 8 resupplies? There is the little status bar above the resupply packs to give you a visual indication of how close you are to running out of resupplies.

Depending on how you use it, I think it may be better to use the resupplies to keep the gun up and running if you're solo diving. If you're solo diving, you can usually use POIs to keep yourself topped off while using the resupplies in the FRV to give yourself a little bit more automated fire support.

Hope it helps, happy diving.

Emudeck's Steam ROM Manager not adding PS3 ROMS

I downloaded and put the ROMs in the designated PS3 ROMs folder. I was then able to add the games to RPCS3 and play them directly from within the RPCS3 program in desktop mode. But anytime I try to used Steam ROM manager, the parsers are unable to find any games.

I'm confused because if the ROMs work fine within RPCS3, shouldn't the parser be able to use that same location and file type? What am I missing?

None of the Roms launch. What am I doing wrong?

So I installed Emudeck because I was looking to use Flycast for some Dreamcast nostalgia. But I can’t for the life of me get anything to work.

I went with the custom install to put it on a micro SD card. I used the steam rom manager to add the roms and I placed the bios into the folder. The parser seems to have worked because it added all the correct artwork for the roms and all the Roms even show up in my collections from the library. But not a single game actually launches!

Anyone have any ideas for troubleshooting this? I have been racking my brain on it for the past week and can’t crack it. Thanks!

I see lots of struggles about the newly buffed strain and how they can be too overwhelming, even on lower difficulties. Fear not for I believe we have finally found the true calling of the newly buffed Sterilizer!

First, one must understand your enemy. No, the Oxygenator is not pulling a "motivating shocks" on the enemy; it does not apply to them. They are only getting their mega speed bursts when they explode into spores near their buddies. So is there a way to kill them without them bursting? You betcha! Fire and Gas DoT will kill them without without them spore-bursting around each other. I think you see where this is going...

The Sterilizer has been recently buffed and it is much, much better than what it was (I would know because I used it a lot before just for fun). Hard to tell the newly buffed range but I would venture to guess that it's roughly 30m. That with the lingering clouds means you can spray down and create a swath of both DoT, confusion and slow that will both crowd control and also (if no one is bursting them) keep them from getting the zoomies.

My preferred loadout thus far has been Orbital Railgun (for the bile titans), Orbital Gas Strike (Gas is so good against Gloom strain and you can call in a big cloud every 65 seconds), Sterilizer (for massive, mobile crowd control), Rover Guard Dog (non-stop firing, clears chaff while also setting many targets on fire for even more non-bursting crowd control). Bring in some extra gas grenades for even more crowd control and whatever you feel like bringing to close bug holes. That's it! Give the new Sterilizer (and gas effects) a try and I think you may find yourself actually coming around to it being a good weapon that solidly fills its Crowd Control niche.
