Remember when the fandom theorized that Ribbit was Jax's abuser. No, just me?

If you could change or add something in OG RE4, what would it be & why?

Either through modding game mechanics or fundamentally changing aspects of the game (either story or game mechanics) to the point where it might becomes completely different because of it, I'll start first:

• Dpad weapon switching (or number keys for KBM) - It's kinda annoying that I have to pause the game everytime I need to switch weapons especially when doing the ditman glitch with the striker. How come there isn't a proper mod that allows quick switch for a game that came out in 2005, re4_tweaks has one but I rarely use it since the game often crashes after doing a few switches.

• An item box - it's annoying that I have to sell maxed out guns everytime I want to try out other weapons. I don't mind the limited inventory space & that I can't bring all weapons, but I wish I could just stash them in a box somewhere. Some of you might say that it might ruined the gameplay balance since you could just hoard so many herbs that you can tank every damage through the game, or hoard grenades & rare ammo like the magnum & minethrower.

Let's say that it does, for that I say that's only a problem for new game plus (not the default way to play the game) & not an actual problem for new save file. The solution for that is simple - just make guns the only item you can store in an item box, re4 remake already does this.

• RE5's melee system - knifing is fine in og re4 but playing re5's mercenaries made the former feel bare bones & incomplete. It takes too long to knife down ganados in later parts of og re4 especially in the military island where they had more health than those in the village, it would be cool if you can execute a staggered ganado from behind with a neck break (only Hunk can this in og re4 mercenaries) or stomping downed ganados on the ground with a satisfying head explosion

Wouldn't it be cool if TADC gets a book adaptation that both expands & improves the story?

Either a novelization, a comic book/graphic novel or both & it will work like a 2nd draft of the show. Kinda similar on how the Invincible show's writing is like a 2nd draft of the comic's story.

I know a lot of you are disappointed (including myself) with how other characters get sidelined & had little to no development, some plot holes & plot points that were dropped & never explored making the show feel like theory bait, the rushed ending - I don't think it's that bad but it could have potentially be better than that. Since there's still a lot of engagement & activity in the fandom (for better or for worse), I think it would be a good artistic & business decision for Gooseworx (if her passion ever comes back) & Glitch to do a book adaptation of the show that not only expands the story but also rewrites, improves & fix it's storytelling flaws.

Imagine having more screentime of the cast's relationship to each other & their development besides Jax & Caine, a Ragatha centric episode/chapter, exploring Caine's hellish adventures that were shown offscreen in Episode 8 of the show, imagine the lore of C&A and the previous circus members before their abstraction being explored enough to the point where it's narratively satisfying while still keeping it's mystery. Both retaining it being character driven while giving the theorist side of the fandom enough answers for them to be satisfied.

They'll also won't need to worry about budgets & release dates since the medium of books (both prose & sequential art) don't need massive budgets to begin with compared to animation, & also they can release it with the complete story in one go so that fans won't need to wait for months for a new episode anymore. A novelizations could even explore & expand the characters' internal thoughts enough for more characterization, just imagine the storytelling opportunities & possibilities of this book adaptation.

[OG RE4] Is quick turning with the right stick intended by the developers or an oversight/exploit?

So I was watching a high play speedrun of the game & I noticed a method where making the camera look left or right using the right analog stick while turning the character in either the chosen left or right direction using the left analog stick, then half aiming by pressing the aim button but not holding it to fully aim weapon which results in a quick change of direction & bypassing the turning of the game's tank controls. You can even perform it twice to do a faster & more reliable 180° degree quick turn compared to the default "move backwards + sprint button" quick turn with a little bit slower unskippable animation.

I tried practicing this method with Keyboard & Mouse until I got good & comfortable with it to the point where I no longer need to use the raw input mouse turning option of RE4_tweaks, the method isn't as fast as using mouse turning but it doesn't completely break the game balance (since you can still move while changing directions quickly using mouse turning option) making the game unintentionally easier. With that said, did the original developers of the game even intended for it or was it an oversight that becomes an exploit by expert players?

Is there even a video or magazine interview where devs talk & confirm about this gameplay mechanic?

Does mouse aiming make professional difficulty too easy in OG RE4?

I start playing this game since last month & been loving it so much, I already finished it 5 times by now (3 in normal, 2 in professional). At first I want to play it with KBM but the aiming feels imprecise even in the 2014 Ultimate HD Edition because of the weird acceleration I can't turn off, so I opted for a controller.

Recently I found out a mod called RE4 Tweaks that fixes mouse aiming problem, does a lot of other things like fixing framerate related bugs for example, & even adds real time weapon switching in the game. I'm planning to set up the mod to fix mouse acceleration problem.

But then I found out that the mod can also make the turning speed tied to raw mouse input which makes quick turning obsolete & makes evading through enemies a lot easier, I also realized that the game is design with joystick aiming without aim assist in mind which is why enemies slow down when near & their headshot dodges don't look that fast.

I still haven't installed the mod yet but would the raw mouse input on both turning & aiming break the game, even when playing on professional difficulty?

I'm not the only one who does this right? since many locations are inspired by forests in the UK, the books also using UK terminology for some words & many of the Erin Hunter writers are also from the UK, it's very likely that the series definitely takes place in that country even if there are some inconsistencies.

Anyways just for fun - which characters do you headcanon of having either a British, Irish, or Scottish accent?
