I just recently moved to nixos and im still learning but the weird thing is that when i installed coolercontrol it said my fans were read only, I can't seem to see anything in the config that would fix that and I can't find my laptop's model on nbfc.
Finally made the move, what tips did you guys wish you knew when you first used it?
so im on cachy rn but i plan on moving to nix or gentoo, I can't really keep on reinstalling my games since i have a data limit each month that i share with people and I'm also a distro hopper so this won't be a one time thing. Can i do something like partitioning my disk and having all my important stuff on there and installing the distro on the other partition?
so i was booting up cs2 then as soon as i reached the main screen i heard a pop then my laptop shut off and the charging light wasnt even working, as i was panicking trying to put it in another outlet i left it for a few minutes to go get my bag to go to the service center i noticed that the charging light came back on and the laptop turned on, its been working okay for the past 30 mins but im still terrified, what could this possibly be and what should i do?

so i installed viva new vegas and a couple other visual mods and the game looks pretty good now, but i cant use any guns apart from the another millenia mods because the vanilla guns still look like theyre from normal new vegas and it kind of sucks, what mods should I get to fix this?
I recently switched to omarchy because I saw a couple rices based on it and they looked cool, but I noticed that whenever i search it up I see alot of people saying it's horrible. Why? I haven't had any issues at all using it.
I unplugged the IR board to fix the hall sensor problem and despite having my fans ramp up to max my cpu sometimes goes up to 90 degrees playing games like operator and sons of the forest. What can I do to fix this?

So im on linux and i installed tarkov from steamrip and it never occured to me how i was even gonna run this, does anyone know what im supposed to do?
so ive had this for a little over a year now and recently I've had flickering issues which were mostly fixed when I switched to discrete instead of hybrid, one day the flickering started again and it just went black completely. hours passed by and it remained completely black, I shut it down using the terminal (I use arch btw) out of muscle memory and that was successful, I tried holding down the power button for a minute straight with nothing plugged in and leaving it for a minute then putting in the charger and clicking the power button which always fixed it but it didn't this time. It's been like this for 2 days and yesterday at like 1am I was on my PC and my laptop was on my right and it randomly started flickering and I saw the screen for a while but it stopped and is now just black again. at least this confirms the laptop is alive. how do I fix this?

I've only been using hyprland for like 2 days now so I haven't done much yet, any tips are appreciated.
I've started messing around in the spaceplane hangar but so far my only problem is that I'm always either too fast or too slow to land back onto the runway, parachutes are for losers so is there another way I can slow myself down when i get on the runway?

It came with a 512 gb SSD but I need to upgrade, can I add another SSD with this one or will I need to replace it? I'd rather not replace it since i have too many things on here and I'd have to redownload arch and that already took long enough the first time
