Absolute nightmare selling to Carvana

Going on a month ago, I sold my car to carvana. Quote looked good, everything went smooth when I dropped the car off. I was due a check for roughly $16,000 and another $4000 was supposed to be paid to the dealer for the remainder of the financed amount.

Roughly 2 weeks pass, and I’m thinking, man they’re really taking their time getting this payment sent. I figured they were paying off the loan amount, and then sending me the remaining balance of what I sold for. Called them and was told that my payment had “fallen through the cracks” and was never sent. Pretty irritated but they overnighted me a check.

Then I get a statement from the lending agency, Carvana hasn’t paid the outstanding balance, either. I call carvana to ask whats up with this and they send me “proof” that it was paid, which had no tracking info, digital receipt, anything. Call the lending agency and they have no receipt of payment or anything. Had to call carvana back and wait for an hour before I get the same excuse, “oh sorry it fell through the cracks, we’re sending it over now”.

It’s amazing how lackadaisical they’ve been about this process, they’ve been in possession of our car for almost a month and clearly haven’t attempted to transfer the title, seeing as it wouldn’t be released without being paid in full. I’m just shocked how awful this has been. I’ll absolutely never deal with carvana again.

Edit: this post also got me permabanned from r/carvana

Recent PTSD diagnosis and every day life

I was recently diagnosed with combat related ptsd and I’m having trouble coming to terms with it. Looking back all the signs were there and blatantly obvious - alcoholism, suicidal ideation, isolating myself, cutting ties with people in my life, etc. I’ve been out for going on 14 years and things have gotten better, I’ve quit drinking, I have a well paying job that provides for my family.

I know I have PTSD, my wife knows I have it, but I’m still having trouble with it. I recently told a close friend who I met several years after separating, and he hit me with “I don’t see it, you must hide it well”. This was the first person outside of my immediate family that knows and that was their response.

I’m having a lot of anxiety about it, I know I shouldn’t be ashamed but part of me is. I feel like an imposter. I keep thinking to myself “other people had it worse, I shouldn’t be feeling this way”. How do you guys deal with this, I feel like I’m living a double life.

How to invest for your children

Without divulging too much personal information, I recently have been given a roughly $4000/month stipend for life. I earn roughly 130-140k per year outside of the stipend, and have a pension and annuity in my name for retirement. I have some debts that will be taken care of prior to investing for my children but I’m looking for advice.

I’ve spent my life working manual labor jobs, breaking my body for a paycheck, and while I’m thankful and grateful for the work that provides for my family, I want better for my children. What can I do with about $500 a month for my 2 children to set them up for an easier life. I’ve thought about maxing out a roth ira for them, but I’m curious if there is a better way to go. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

EDIT: I was not aware that they would not be eligible for a roth without taxable income. So thank you to those who pointed that out!

Coil tech question

Hey everybody, I’m looking for some input here. Currently have a 78 fx with 74” engine running an ultima electronic ignition.

Been running it this way with a 5 ohm coil for a while, but the coil had a crack in it and eventually stopped working properly. Buddy told me to swap it with a 3 ohm coil, but when I did, the bike became very hard to start and was back-firing like crazy out of the exhaust. I changed nothing with the carb, timing, exhaust.

Switching back to a 5 ohm coil, the bike starts and runs great but my buddy keeps insisting it’s the wrong coil. Can somebody shine a light here?

Day spa recommendations

Looking for recommendations for a day spa to get my wife a little retreat. I’m hoping to find a full massage, mani/pedi, facial situation if possible. Doesn’t have to be in the actual city, just looking for something close-ish and that also isn’t like a grand. Thanks in advance!!

Help with Manganese Bronze

Hi everybody, I need some help with a difficult material, manganese bronze. I don’t need to do any structural welding, but I need to more or less fill some low spots in castings. Due to the high zinc content of the material, tig welding has been incredibly difficult. Any time I can get a puddle, the zinc flares up and blows it out.

I’m looking for anybody with first hand experience with the material that can help. I have a tig machine with balance, and frequency controls, and an oxy acetylene setup to use. I’ve mainly been using silicon bronze tig rod as of now, but I’m wondering if maybe a brazing rod with flux would be a better candidate. Any help is greatly appreciated!
