What are your thoughts on the Lindsay Clancy case?

As a black mom who had a missed bipolar diagnosis and was improperly treated with SSRIs for 3 years, and who experienced psychosis twice, including once postpartum, this case has been draining me and triggers bad memories. It’s just so, so sad.

What are your feelings on the case and the possibility of a not guilty by reason of insanity verdict?

Any bipolar moms who experienced PPP/PPA/PPD feeling emotionally drained from the Lindsay Clancy case?

Was diagnosed as bipolar 17 years ago after being misdiagnosed as having depression 3 years before that. I have experienced psychosis twice in my life, once postpartum and both times as part of a mixed manic episode. The algorithms on social media, including Reddit, have been feeding me a ton of Lindsay Clancy stuff, and it’s taking me back to the first year postpartum with my kids and the extremely negative thoughts and experiences I associate with these psychosis episodes. Seeing comments from people who don’t think mental health issues are real and how strong the societal stigma is towards these disorders has gotten me super depressed. Anyone else relate?

Which is worst: mania, depressive or mixed episodes?

IMO mixes episodes by a mile. I’ve had 2 in my life, both devolving from mania. By far the scariest for me. As someone who is stable now, I would honestly rather deal with a depressive episode.

Tired all the time - at what age does it get better?

Working mom to a 2 and 5 year old. For the last 5 years I feel like I’m tired ALL the time. My daughter started sleeping through the night at 12 months and is a decent sleeper but my son has always been an early riser (sleeps 8-6AM). Does this get less tiring when they get to elementary school? At what age do they start sleeping longer? Most days the #1 thing I look forward to when I wake up is going to sleep. My poor husband is a SAHD who spends more time with the kids and he’s more tired than I am. I feel like my body has aged so much in the past 2 years. When does it get better?

Loving bold eyeliner colors lately

Great new tip I just learned is to apply white eyeliner before applying colorful eyeliner or eyeshadow to make the color really pop on dark skin.

What tribe do I look like?

Black American woman, 80% African with 33% Nigerian DNA. I’ve always been told that I look very Nigerian. Curious as to what tribe I look like?

🔥 Hot ▲ 5.6k r/euphoria

It’s crazy how Sam Levinson was able to create my most hated villain in the show in only 5 minutes

They did an excellent job establishing Alamo’s villain origin story. That flashback was perfection and reminds me of Euphoria at its best in season 1.

Hot take: I don’t see a problem with the r-word being used in Euphoria

As a disclaimer, this is not a word I use online or in real life, because those with cognitive disabilities have communicated that it is hurtful and I respect that.

That said, I’ve been seeing a lot of controversy with Maddie in an earlier season and then Cassie using the r-word in the show. My take: I’m not super bothered about them using it in the show because these people aren’t supposed to be viewed as good people and the show is not endorsing their views. The same with the neo-Nazi calling Alamo the n-word - he’s not supposed to be a good person so it’s not shocking for him to say that. I could see if the show was implying “you should be like Cassie” but I feel that’s not the case.
