Why do employers think it’s OK to ghost job applicants?

"I constantly hear business people lamenting the numbers of young people who are not “employment ready”. Sometimes they are talking about core skills such as literacy or numeracy, but often they mean the youngsters in question are unprepared for the basic demands of work life — amiability, punctuality, reliability, that sort of thing.

And yet, you have to wonder why they never consider their own lack of professional courtesy. What message do they think young applicants are picking up when their first experience of the job market is being treated with contempt and indifference by the people who then complain they lack the social skills for work?"

Pixel 9 Pro XL vs Pixel 10 Pro XL ($230 difference)

Hey everyone! I'm getting a Pixel this month. Do you think it's worth it to get a P10 Pro XL at $230 more than P9 Pro XL? I've read about poorer batt optimization for the P10 vs P9 so thats why I'm leaning towards P9 now...

p.s. I'm not planning to get a P11 (will be too expensive) and need to change my phone soon cuz my existing Samsung has many green and purple lines :(

thanks!

TIL you can buy Hello Panda for the Japanese as a souvenir from Singapore as they haven't been sold in Japan since 1989

"Meiji started selling the snack domestically in 1987 under the name Konnichiwa Panda, riding the wave of Japan’s panda boom sparked by the birth of giant panda Tong Tong at Ueno Zoo in Tokyo.

But despite the panda craze, the product struggled to stand out in Japan’s fiercely competitive confectionery market, and Meiji stopped selling them just two years later, in 1989.

The snack, however, saw a completely different trajectory overseas.

The international version of Hello Panda debuted in Singapore in 1991, where the company originally had a factory, before gradually expanding around the world."

If you are visiting someone from Japan, can buy Hello Panda for them as a souvenir from SG! 🤣

What is this trend called?

I have been noticing more food being presented on broken(?) plates. I know of kintsugi but this is not even making the plate whole before the professional photoshoot. Cant seem to find the correct keywords to discover more. Anyone knows what this trend is called?

Found an old note and was wondering where I could use it. Showed this to a cashier at Lawson who said she hasn't seen this before...
