This theory is based off three things

First is Garp being stabbed by Shiryu I believe Garp did this purposefully since in his prime he could take attacks from Roger and even in his old age shiryu being able to do more than Roger is either a serious shiryu upscale Or Garp let it happen plus Garp could have moved Koby out of the way or just tackled shiryu down this seems intentional

SECOND
Garp clearly been spending some extra time on hachinosu the ship has already left port and is gaining distance from the island yet Garp wasn’t on the ship it’s weird to think Garp would spend more time then he needs to especially with how strong he and his men are

THIRD
Garp has lost everyone important to him

Ace died and now he works under the man who killed him

His own pupil has abandoned him and works for Blackbeard who had a direct a part to play in ace death
His son doesn’t talk to him
His grandson is being hunted by the government

It’s doubtful his friends Sengoku or tsuru are even that good we see very little of them interacting

Garp spend his entire life working for the most evil people everyone who he ever cared about has left him and he has no one Garp has nothing to really live for what is going to do keep serving a group of elitists that engage in slavery genocide and many more awful things I am not even sure I can say on this platform every day he has to deal with the issue that this is his job
