What anime became better the more episodes you watched?

Have you ever started an anime and thought, “Yeah, it's alright,” but after a few more episodes you were completely hooked?

For me, some anime just get better once you understand the characters and the story a little more. What anime was like this for you?

Gintama is probably the biggest example for me. At first, I wasn't sure about all the comedy and random episodes but the more I watched, the more I started getting attached to the characters. And once the serious arcs started hitting, I was really invested in it.

What anime was like this for you? An anime that kept getting better the more you watched it?

What's an anime you think deserves way more attention?

I feel like there are so many good anime that barely get talked about compared to the popular ones.

I have watched shows like Kingdom, Hajime no Ippo,

Summertime Render, 86 and many more but they are not talked much even though they are so good. And I wonder why they didn't get much though they are great shows?

What's an anime you think should deserve way more attention?

Re:ZERO Season 4 Cour 2 is almost here — are you guys excited?

I can’t believe Re:ZERO is finally back this Wednesday 🤩

Honestly, that break felt longer than it really was. The first half had us experiencing quite a few events, Subaru trying to comprehend everything, the chaos in the Pleiades Watchtower, the fighting, and we especially need to mention how violent and extreme a few moments actually were.

One of the reasons why I adore this anime is that it isn’t afraid to show all the horrors. Death, pain and despair might be difficult to watch, but knowing that this is how difficult Subaru’s life is makes it all more meaningful. Every time something goes wrong, it hits so hard.

And just when you think that it can’t get any worse, Re:ZERO shows you that you’re mistaken.

The second part is almost here and I’m excited to learn how everything will unfold. I’m avoiding spoilers, so I have no idea what is about to happen.

What are your thoughts on the first part? What are you most looking forward to in the next episode?👀

The more episodes I watch, the more I’m loving this anime

I honestly didn’t expect to get this invested when I started watching it, but with every new episode, I’m enjoying it more and more.

The characters, the visuals, the atmosphere, and especially the way the story is developing have really grown on me. It just keeps getting better as the episodes go on.

At this point, I’m genuinely looking forward to every new episode. 😭

Anyone else feeling the same way?

What anime made you way more emotional than you expected?

Have you ever started an anime thinking it's probably going to be pretty good, and then somehow you end up getting way too attached to it?

Not necessarily an anime that's famous for being sad. I mean the shows that just caught you off guard.

For me, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was definitely one of those. I started it mostly because the setting and animation looked cool. I wasn't expecting to get that emotionally invested in the characters.

Frieren also surprised me in a different way. I expected a fantasy adventure, but some of the quieter moments and the way it deals with memories, relationships, and losing people hit harder than I expected.

Violet Evergarden is another obvious one. I knew before watching it that it was supposed to be emotional, but actually watching Violet slowly understand people's feelings was a completely different experience.

And then there's A Silent Voice. I expected an emotional movie, but I wasn't prepared for how uncomfortable and personal some of the characters' struggles would feel.

Sometimes it isn't even a tragic scene that gets me. It can be something as simple as a character finally accomplishing something they've been working toward, or a small moment between two characters that suddenly hits harder than the big dramatic scenes.

So I'm curious about everyone else's experience.

What's an anime that unexpectedly hit you emotionally, and what was it about it that got you?

It doesn't have to be the saddest anime you've ever watched. I'm more interested in the ones where you went in thinking "this looks interesting" and came out thinking about it days later.

I'm probably going to steal some answers from this thread for my next watch, so give me your best ones.

Which anime from the last 5 years do you think will become a classic?

There are always shows that are huge when they come out, but a few years later nobody really talks about them anymore. Then there are some that just seem to stick around and keep getting recommended to new people.

For me, I feel like Frieren is probably going to be one of those anime. Even though it's still relatively new, I can already imagine people recommending it years from now.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners also feels like one of those shows to me. It's short, but I still see people talking about it and recommending it.

So I'm curious. What anime from the last 5 years do you think people will still be watching and talking about 10 or 20 years from now?

It doesn't have to be the most popular anime right now. I'm more interested in the ones you think are going to age really well.

What's your pick?

Is there still a chance for More Than a Married Couple to get a Season 2?

I was thinking about this anime again today and now I’m kinda wondering what happened to it lol.

It’s been quite a while since Season 1, and I honestly thought we might’ve gotten some news about a sequel by now. I really enjoyed Jirou and Akari’s relationship, and the anime ended right when things were getting really interesting.

For anyone who follows the manga or keeps up with anime announcements, is there still a realistic chance we’ll get another season? Or should I just accept that it probably isn’t happening? 😭

I’d definitely watch Season 2 if it ever gets announced.

Rewatched Cyberpunk: Edgerunners today

Man, this anime still hurts 😭

I thought rewatching it would be easier since I already knew what was going to happen, but honestly, it somehow felt even worse. Knowing where everything is heading makes all those small moments with the characters hit differently.

David and Lucy’s story especially got me again. And the soundtrack, still absolutely destroys me.

It’s crazy that an anime with only 10 episodes can leave this much of an impact.

Anyone else had the same experience on a rewatch? Did it hit harder the second time?

Maybe Balen is fighting his own battle right now

Balen’s latest post — “ढिला होला, तर गलत हुँदैन। नआत्तिनुहोस्।” — feels different to me.

Maybe the issue isn’t that he has no plans, but that not everyone within his own side is ready to stand with him. Change takes time, especially when you’re trying to break the same old political culture.

If Balen is genuinely trying to do something different, I think he deserves some patience and support rather than constant pressure.

ढिला होला, तर गलत नहोस्। Keep going, Balen. 🇳🇵

Does Prison School have any chance of getting a Season 2?

I recently finished watching Prison School and I’m wondering if there’s still any possibility of a sequel or Season 2.

It’s been a long time since the first season, so does anyone know if there have been any updates from the studio, manga creator, or production committee?

Also, for those who have read the manga: does the story continue far beyond where the anime ended, and would there be enough material for another season?

I really hope we eventually get a continuation. 😭
