Has been actively playing since January last year. 10k points ain’t much but it’s honest work :) I mainly use RA for game tracking so I don’t have a lot of masteries. But I am proud of the few non-shovelware masteries I have gotten: Plants vs Zombies (DS), DuckTales (NES) and Zelda Twilight Princess (Wii).

I am currently working on Arcade games, aiming to beat all Metal Slug games and a few other classics. After that I think I’ll play more PS2 and GC games.

I also really enjoyed the Wii launch event and I am really looking forward to future launch events.

We are back for another monthly challenge. Our main challenge is Alundra (PS1), PlayStation’s answer to The Legend of Zelda. I have no idea about this game personally but it looks very interesting.

A bit late this month but we still have a few hours! I notice there is a video on the sub homepage of a spider man dancing with a weird head. I have no clue beyond the obvious guess of spider man games.

Y700 tablet with the arcade dock is super fun to play arcade games on . I just cleared Metal Slug X with my cousin last night in a local co-op mode. I used an additional Bluetooth controller while he used the arcade stick.

I can play arcade games on many devices but this is the more authentic way and absolutely more fun.

A long time moderator in Ayn discord server is doing a community poll about PC handhelds. Last time they did this kind of a community poll, Ayn announced Odin 3 shortly afterwards. So it’s likely that they are making a new PC handheld and will announce soon.

NetherSX2 will drop Hardcore support on Thursday, July 16th. To me this seems a very short notice period. I wish this can be extended until the end of the year to allow ARMSX2 to mature a bit more.

Select Start Monthly Challenge is a RetroAchievement focused monthly challenge. The discord server has a sophisticated bot to keep track of participants’ cheevo progress for the games featured each month.

After the back-to-back Wii games we return to retro games. Well not quite because this month’s game was released less than 10 years ago. Alwa’s Awakening is a 8-but style Metroidvania game. It was originally released for PC in 2017 but later ported to NES, yeah you read that right, the original Nintendo Entertainment System, in 2022!

The game is currently on the Steam Summer Sales, you can get the PC version for $0.99 and additional $1.89 to get the NES version to participate in the challenge. You’ll get a warm fuzzy feeling of supporting an indie game studio in addition to having fun playing along and chatting about the game with others.
