I’m planning on taking the Praxis 5025 (Early Childhood Education) exam in about a week, and it seems like my only option is to take it at home, since the nearest testing center is over 20 miles away and doesn’t have an open spot until July. I’m heard that the at-home Praxis is administered through ProctorU, which I (and a lot of other people) have had bad experiences with. If you’ve taken the Praxis at home, what was it like? If you could choose again, would you have rather taken it at a testing center?

Today was my first specials assignment (science to be specific, the district that I usually sub in has made both science and social studies specials). It was rough. My first two classes, 4th and 3rd, were pretty well behaved (3rd more so than 4th, but 4th wasn’t too bad). However, after lunch was when things went downhill. 2nd and 1st grade were off the wall with the chatting and interruptions. I wasn’t able to complete all of the work that the teacher left because I constantly had to redirect the class. I even had to make both classes put their heads down and send one student to the principal. I also had to call for backup to help get the class under control (this was after I sent the student to the principal). Kindergarten was better, but I suspect that was only because they had their para with them. 5th grade wasn’t as bad as 2nd and 1st, but I still had to talk to them about their chatting. I’m so glad summer is around the corner.

Since we’ve seen parodies of Greek chariot races and the Trojan War in earlier episodes, I think it would be cool if there was an episode where they parodied the odyssey. Not only is it one of my favorite stories ever, it’s also super fitting between Christopher Nolan’s adaptation being released later this summer, and epic the musical (another adaptation of the odyssey) taking the world by storm and also getting a film adaptation. What do you guys think?

So I’m a substitute teacher, and today I subbed kindergarten. The kids had about a half hour of playtime, and one of the bins of toys was filled with G2 LPS. When I saw them I was so happy, I even told the kids that I was playing with that I used to play with them when I was a kid. The kids who were playing with them looked like they were having fun too. I just wanted to share.

During my rewatch of Epic, I started thinking about what colors I could associate with each of the sagas. Here’s my list:

Troy: A bright orange

Cyclops: Blood Orange

Ocean: Light Blue

Circe: Pink

Underworld: A greenish gray

Thunder: Yellow

Wisdom: Royal blue

Vengeance: Sea green

Ithaca: Crimson

I’m looking for a specific Love in Paradise animatic. In it, Athena actually brings Telemachus with her for the time dive. At the very end of the song, after Odysseus calls out to her, Athena is shown hugging Telemachus. If anyone can help me find this animatic it would be greatly appreciated!

I’m a college student who is majoring in early childhood education, and am thinking about becoming a kindergarten teacher. I just found out that kindergartners (at least the school I’m subbing at today) don’t take naps anymore. This is surprising to me, since when I was in kindergarten (at the same school I’m subbing at btw) we would bring in pillows and blankets, and lay down on cots for about a half hour after lunch every day. For context, this was about 15 years ago. Do your kids still nap? I’m in NJ, but all states/countries are welcome to comment.
