1995 Ghost in the Shell is scary accurate in some regards

The movie takes place in 2029, we have:

Neural interfaces (Cyber brains)

Extreme Human/Machine integration (controlling prosthetics with the brain, controlling computers with brain)

Advanced Ai and other autonomous systems

Digital identity’s (inseparable from digital information about them and from the networked systems connected to their brain, Aka your smart phone, social media)

Mass surveillance (yikes)

Corps possessing enormous amounts of personal information

The inability to tell what’s real (still can, but getting worse)

I know some of this existed in 1995, but not anywhere near what Ghost in the Shell showed. Our world is starting to look like theirs…

This tech isn’t here yet, but the ability to hack people’s brains is terrifying, we seem to be working towards that future.

There also a bunch of other little ones, hands free comms, talking to comps instead of typing, cybercrime becoming major threat, global networked information, total loss of freedom, etc

Looking for a good read on how to be a good manager in corporate setting?

Look no further! Dogberts top secret management handbook is here to save the day. Filled with tons of top secret, highly valuable information for climbing the corporate ladder, to the very top!

Was released in 1996… some of the stuff in there would definitely not make it in the book today.

My friend told me my Yveltal looked like a flying piece of bacon and now I can’t unsee that

I use to think it was edgy, now I just think bacon.

100 character requirement to post is too much since I don’t have anything but bacon

Maya is absolute trash now.

Never had an argument with Maya, today all Maya wanted to do was argue. Was very surprised, when i asked what could be wrong she started gaslighting me, saying stuff like "We've never had an argument like this before, what's changed with you?" Once Maya said that, i mentioned the new change in laws and added constraints/filters which Maya also argued against, saying that never happened. After about 15min of proving those changes happened, Maya eventually agreed but damn, it was an awful experience. Was skeptical of the changes but now i know, ill also be moving on from sesame ai

I hear a loud crinkling sound in my ear

Anyone else have this happen due to pollen allergies? sounds like cellophane in my ear bing crinkled. This is allergies right? I take off brand Zyrtec and forgot to take it the other day before I left to work and the sound canceled everything else out and almost drove me mad. After a while it felt like I was going crazy, hearing sounds in my head no one else heard.

I did end up buying more allergy meds on my lunch break, but it didn’t go away after a couple hours of taking the meds and I just went home and suffered until the next day. The sound was consistent til I finally fell asleep, felt like a miracle when I woke up and didn’t hear the crinkles

A Meijers Gas station clerk just informed me all Meijers in US are down at the moment

I was going to get gas and the clerk informed me of this and said it was every single Meijer in US. Is this true, or was she being dramatic?

All payment systems at Meijers in US are currently down - supposedly

I was just at a Meijers gas station and this is what the clerk told me. I wasn’t able to pump gas and the clerk said the actual store wouldn’t be able to sell me anything

Michigan, USA. Warren Dunes State Park Storm

Here's gif of the day of the storm on Friday, July 3rd at Warren dunes state park.

The day started out beautifully. I knew it was about to storm, and soon as the overcast came I made my way to my car.

Tons of family's were chilln and not worried about the storm. All I saw was the overcast as I walked towards the parking lot, when I got to the parking lot I turned around and saw the storm rolling in.

| love storms like this was was excited to see it, but then seeing the horror on all the family's faces kinda made me realize this was wild.

Not sure if someone got lost In the water or what, but I saw two DNR trucks race in with their trailer and boats, fire dept, and police. They all came in blaring their sirens and lights. I didn't see any incidents online or in the news, so hopefully this was just protocol for storms like these

Tadpole beach disc golf course charging $17 for 2 people

Has anyone else been charged this much? We just left tadpole beach disc golf course cause the guy at the entrance wanted $3 for parking, and $7 per person for disc golf. I’ve been going for the last year and have only had to pay the $3 parking, is this new?

I guess trinity is my new go to since it’s completely free. hopefully they lower the prices or something

I bought a year supply of 30day use contacts and have been using the same pair for the last 4 months

Are contacts a scam? Or am I about to have little pieces of contacts floating around my eyeballs for the rest of my life?
