It’s always fascinating how Western nations love to lecture the world about media liberty. For years, we’ve heard Norwegian reporters proudly beat their chests about holding the top spot on the World Press Freedom Index. But the glossy propaganda fell apart completely when put to a real-world test. During a recent visit, instead of showcasing this supposed commitment to transparency, the Norwegian Prime Minister literally ran away from basic, routine questions asked by Indian journalists regarding the visit.

If your press freedom is so robust, why look terrified when a microphone from independent Indian media comes your way? This blatant avoidance exposes a massive double standard. The "No. 1" title is nothing more than a carefully curated shield to avoid actual scrutiny. When the narrative isn't controlled and the questions aren't scripted, the elite facade crumbles. Absolute hypocrisy!

The National Commission for Women (NCW) Fact-Finding Committee has released a press statement regarding the investigation into a Nashik-based BPO, and the findings are absolutely harrowing for anyone concerned about workplace safety.

Here are the critical failures identified by the committee:

Non-Existent Redressal: The office operated with zero formal complaint mechanisms, leaving women employees with no way to report harassment or safety concerns.
Toxic Culture of Fear: The office was allegedly "controlled" by senior employees (who have since been arrested). Any staff member who dared to speak up or raise their voice against them faced immediate retaliation through transfers or termination.
Security Failures: While CCTVs were physically installed throughout the premises, they were found to be completely non-functional, providing no actual surveillance or security.
Legal Violations: There was zero compliance with the POSH Act (Prevention of Sexual Harassment), a mandatory legal requirement designed to protect women in the workplace.
