I was watching this cheesy 80s movie and I instantly recognized a very 80s Vancouver standing in for Cedar Bay, Oregon.

Coolest part is this high resolution look at the Lions Gate with the old deck. Around the turn of the millennium, the deck was replaced completely - moving the pedestrian/cycling lanes to the outside of the structure, adding lookout points under the two towers and widening the three car lanes.

Since the bridge originally only had two lanes of traffic, this specific configuration was very problematic so it was a big deal when that upgrade took place.

The film is called Beyond the Stars, free on YouTube. It has a lot of scenes at Horseshoe Bay too and probably other places I didn't recognize.

I finally splurged on a 1050 to help me get around on my bike.

I can't say I'm very impressed. For example, I can't find a way to stop it from vomiting countless POI icons all over my map.

This is with map detail set to least and every single toggle turned off when you swipe up on the map screen.

I have my phone, I'm not using this thing to find new cafes to try, and I don't need an icon for every single bike kockup which is every 100m in a city like mine. 😐

Pretty infuriating, and from a company that specializes in mapping.

I've had my XP4 for a few months now but never seen average and max speed reported on the first page.

How did this happen? Not complaining it's just really odd.

Love the XP4 but the tapered handlebars are definitely one of the pet peeves I have.

I already gave up on a phone mount and now my headlight I got won't stay where I put it because the handlebar is tapered and doesn't provide a perfectly parallel surface for the clamps.

Has anyone tried one of these handlebar extensions that give you more room to mount accessories?

Either the one Lectric sells or a generic one... are you able to clamp it down so it won't move?

I really wish they had gone with normal straight bars... what should be a two minute install turns into 45 minutes of fiddling just to have everything shift after hitting a speed bump.

Finally settled on a light to replace the Lectric Elite Headlight.

It's literally night and day! I was expecting a big upgrade but holy crap.

Lectric Elite vs. Fenix BC28R - both of the same unlit scene.

The Fenix costs 10 percent of the XP4 long range retail price but with replaceable 21700 cells it should theoretically last longer than me.

World Cup is over but the funky displays are still up. The XP4 looks funky too, I really like the way it looks!

I was looking for a good backpack for riding my bicycle around town.

Found the Kanken Mini and fell in love with it, so adorable.

Picked one up in the new green color but I think it's too small for me. The straps only work in the biggest size and it's still quite high and tight on my back, making it sit high and the plastic tabs rub into my back.

I'm 6 foot 2 inches and average weight but I fear the Mini won't work for me?

Should I just get the Classic? It doesn't have the adorable factor but it does come in the midnight purple color which is my fav.

Been having a rough time getting my new XP4 to shift properly...

I guess this is my problem? The anchor bolt is tight but the entire assembly just pivots as shown in the video.

I went to adjust the B screw tension and noticed it does nothing because this is the state of the derailleur...
