5 major risks India could face

  1. Hotter seas – Arabian Sea & Bay of Bengal are already seeing major marine heatwaves.
  2. Fish impact – Fish may move away, affecting catches and fishermen.
  3. Coral damage – Warmer water can cause coral bleaching and ecosystem stress.
  4. Heavy rain & floods – Warmer seas can fuel intense rainfall and coastal flooding.
  5. Heat & water stress – Changing rainfall and higher temperatures can affect crops, water and power demand.

Does physically visiting companies still work for job hunting?

Is it still worth going directly to IT hubs or random company offices and asking employees/security/reception about openings? Or is applying online far better nowadays? I’ve been applying online for a long time and honestly I’m getting tired of it. Thinking of trying the old-school way of just going around companies with a resume and asking if there’s any opportunity. Has anyone actually gotten an interview or job this way recently?

Looking for guidance from QA professionals 🙏 — Fresher struggling to get my first opportunity

800+ applications. Very few replies. Still not giving up. 😭

I’m a 2025 B.Tech ECE graduate from TIER 2 university, trying to get my first job in QA/Software Testing.

I’ve learned Manual Testing, Java, Selenium, TestNG, Maven, SQL and API Testing with Postman, and I build and also building projects continuously to improve my practical skills.

I don’t have many industry contacts or a big circle to guide me. I’m mostly figuring everything out alone . learning, applying, preparing for interviews and trying to understand what I’m doing wrong.

I’m looking for one experienced QA/Tester who can guide me, even occasionally, until I get my first opportunity.

I’m not asking for a referral or a job. Just honest guidance on what I should improve and where I’m going wrong.

I’ll genuinely put in the work. And once I get a job and become financially stable, I’d be happy to compensate you for the time and guidance you gave me.

If you’ve been through the fresher struggle yourself, you’ll probably understand where I’m coming from. ❤️

If anyone is willing to guide me, please DM me. Even a small piece of advice could make a big difference. 🙏

Is backdoor job actually real or a scam?

Hey guys, I’m a 2025 graduate with 8 CGPA from tier 2 university and also completed a course certification in Automation Testing.

I’ve applied to 100s of jobs but barely getting any response or referrals. Now I’m already facing a 1-year career gap, so honestly I’m pretty desperate to get started.

Is the “backdoor job” thing actually real? If there’s a genuine opportunity where I can get selected into a real company, I’m willing to pay after getting selected.

If anyone has actually done this or knows a legitimate way, please help me out.

𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟏 𝐋𝐨𝐲𝐨𝐥𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐭? 𝐀𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬?

I'm planning to attend the Chennai Job Fair happening on July 11 at Loyola College, but I'm curious to know what it's really like.

For those who attended previous Loyola/CII or similar mega job fairs:

  • Is it a legitimate recruitment drive?
  • Did companies actually conduct interviews and hire candidates?
  • Were the listed companies genuinely present, or did many not show up?
  • Were most openings for IT/software roles, or were they mainly sales, BPO, manufacturing, and staffing agencies?
  • If you got selected, what was the hiring process like? Was it an on-the-spot interview or did they contact you later?
  • Any tips on how to make the most of the event?

Please share your honest experience good or bad. It would really help everyone planning to attend. thank you.

NEED SOME CAREER ADVICE

Hey folks,

I’m a 2025 ECE graduate and I completed a QA automation testing course covering Selenium with Java, TestNG, SQL, and manual testing concepts.

I come from a non-CS background , and since I wasn’t very interested in hardcore DSA/development roles, I chose the testing/QA path because I genuinely liked the idea of testing and automation.

But even after applying for many QA/testing roles, I’m barely getting responses or interviews. Most openings ask for experience even for junior roles, and it’s getting frustrating.

Currently I know:

  • Selenium with Java
  • TestNG
  • SQL
  • Manual Testing
  • Jira knowledge

I don’t have real-time project experience yet apart from course projects.

So I wanted genuine advice from people already working in QA/testing:

  • What skills are companies actually expecting from freshers now?
  • What should I improve to increase interview calls?
  • Is automation alone enough for freshers?
  • Should I focus more on API testing, frameworks, or something else?
  • Any roadmap or strategy that helped you get your first QA job?

It’s already mid-2026 now, so I’m also worried about the growing career gap while continuously applying and improving my skills. so, I’d really appreciate honest suggestions. Thanks.
