🔥 The Comb-crested Jacana (Irediparra gallinacea)

This bird is present in southeastern Borneo and the Philippines, Sulawesi, the Moluccas, the Lesser Sunda Islands, New Guinea, and northern and eastern Australia.
It lives in freshwater bodies with enough aquatic vegetation (water lilies or water hyacinths) to form a floating mat.
Indeed, it is capable of walking on the floating vegetation of tropical freshwater bodies. With very long legs and very large toes, it is reputed to be the bird in the world with the largest “feet” relative to its body size.

Hygrocybe Firma, photo by Charlie Chadwick

Hygrocybe firma is a mushroom whose very small, red spore-bearing bodies appear in Tasmanian forests in the fall. It has a biotrophic relationship with the surrounding vegetation: its mycelium lives inside plant roots or in close contact with them. Its red color stands out against the green hues of the forest, creating striking color compositions.

Is this wall lizard in the cool pot refreshing ?

I thought this wall lizard was cooling off in the pot of my little rose bush. But actually, maybe it’s laying eggs...
The answer in a few weeks. ^^

(Sorry about the photo quality, it’s just a phone)
