H4 first time (no EAD) stuck in Vermont since mid-June

H-1B was filed concurrently with PP.

Anyone else in the same boat? Is it worth emailing PP or something of the sort? Anyone had success with Vermont recently?

There is no EAD here or anything. My spouse needs to go back home for a visit and we're stuck here in the US it seems.

Espresso sem crema

1:3 ratio
95 temp

Grãos bem claros

Será que algum dia esse tipo de espresso vai se tornar popular?

All Sey tastes the same to me

Pretty much the title. I don’t mean it as a diss or anything like that. I think I might not have the palate for ultra light roasted washed coffees.

I’ve been to Sey a couple times and the coffee I had there is not too different from brewing their beans at home.

I use a ZP6 with 50% TWW light roast water and Cafec T-90 filters. I’ve tried a range of recipes from 92-99 Celsius water, 1:15 to 1:18 ratios, different grind sizes etc.

I’ve noticed I can push extraction a ton without hitting astringency, and tend to prefer higher temps and longer ratios. Still, I can’t notice much difference between the bags I have right now (eg a pink bourbon versus a Chiroso).

Has anyone experienced the same? I’ll probably just go back to medium roasts or funkier light roasts, but just wanted to see if anyone has ideas. I thought the zp6 would bring the clarity and separation enough for me to differentiate the notes but not really.

How cooked am I? Stripped crankset bolt when trying to remove it

Will take to LBS tomorrow. I furthered the damage by trying to use a kit I bought at Lowe’s to drill a hole in the screw to yank it out.

How bad does it look? Will this be an easy job? Any chance I damaged the BB or crank arm by trying to hammer a torx into it? (It all looks and sounds fine)

Thanks!

Ps: these are not hairline cracks near the BB. They’re just dog hair lol

Fit suggestions?

Hi guys, sorry for the low res photos, I had to film myself and took these screenshots. How’s the fit? I’m 5’9 and this is a 56cm Trek Emonda I was gifted, so quite keen to make it work although I worry it’s on the big side. Is the reach too long for me? Can I move the seat forward? And how’s saddle height? Thanks!

IRS misspelled my name (which was correctly filed by my end) and now I’ll have to wait another 16 weeks for my $8K return

Hi all,

Just wanted to share my frustration. I filed a 1040-NR via mail in early February. Only yesterday (June) I got an email from the IRS saying there was a name mismatch. I tripled checked my SSN and what I filed and there was none.

I called them today and learned that whoever agent was assigned my case completely butchered my last name. The representative I spoke with fixed it, and said I would need to wait another 16 weeks. When I complained about it, they told me to reach out to IRS tax advocates. I can’t reach them on the phone, so I sent the form 911 and am calling it a day.

Anyone’s been through similar? Will it really take 16 weeks? Do tax advocates do anything?

Thanks!
