I'm looking for some advice from anyone who has dealt with a similar situation.

My mother's Kotak 811 account (occupation: Homemaker) has been blocked due to a transaction pattern issue. The account is completely restricted now. We can't send money, receive money, withdraw cash, or use UPI.

We visited the branch, and the manager checked the account. He told us that if we want to get this account working again, we would have to explain every transaction along with supporting details, and even then there is no guarantee that the account will be unblocked.

Instead, he suggested another option:

Open a new bank account in another bank.

Bring a cancelled cheque from that account.

They will raise an account closure request.

The balance (around ₹17,000) will be transferred to the new bank account.

He also told me over the phone not to worry and said he would process it.

My biggest concern is that since the account is blocked and I can't transfer the money myself, will the ₹17,000 still be transferred successfully during the account closure process?

Has anyone here gone through something similar with Kotak? Would you follow the manager's advice, or is there anything else I should do? Any experiences or suggestions would really help. Thanks!
