Is Mt. Rainier a scary/dangerous place to hike solo?
I’m going by myself in September and Im a little afraid of hiking by myself sometimes. I’m not planning on doing anything super long, I’ll be there a few days and im probably not gonna do anything above 7-8 miles. Ever since i watched Missing 411 on YouTube, I have a slight fear of being alone in the deep wilderness 😒 and I just read a disturbing comment while watching a mt rainier video from a guy who used to work there as a ranger and said he helped search for a missing person every week and most were never found and then I read that there’s 400 missing person cases in mt rainier since 1989 and now I’m questioning my decision to go out there solo 🤦🏼♂️
How should I prop these dracaenas? I was doing water but the bottom of the stem is starting to get soft/start rotting
I’ve been keeping them in a bucket of water with the bottom of the stem submerged like 3 inches and I’ve been changing the water every couple days, keeping it outside in bright indirect light, also using propagation drops. The stem is starting to get soft where it’s under water so I took them out to dry for now. Im scared to continue propping in water.. any advice?
Just got these filifolia’s delivered. Why are they grafted what’s the purpose of that just curious? They were also supposed to be bare roots. I’m a bit annoyed.
I ordered 2 of these one for me and one for my mom. They were supposed to be bare roots, and they gave me a PDF of very specific instructions on how to pot them up when I get them. I spent a decent amount of money on pots and different mediums to make a good blend of soil, so that I could pot them as soon as they arrive, which the PDF specifically said I should do immediately.
They’re already in pots with super saturated soil and I can’t see what the roots look like, I’m afraid to disturb them. I was looking forward to putting them in the soil mix and pots I purchased because it’s very good stuff and I want them to thrive. But I guess I’m gonna have to leave them in these for a while.
I’m also curious what the purpose of them being grafted is? And how long should I leave the plastic wrap on?
Any other advice is appreciated.
Side by side marble queens for comparison. Not sure why more people don’t do this 🤷🏼♂️ the leaves size up QUICK and she climbs quick too. I also love how uniform/symmetrical she grows.
Pick a cutting from your trailing pothos with nice variegation, prop it, put it on a pole and thank me later 😇
My philodendron rojo congo took an abnormally long time to push out this newest leaf and it’s far smaller than the previous ones, wondering if this means it might be time to repot. It’s been in this pot for about a year now. I have not inspected the root ball yet cause it will probably cause some minor root damage and make a mess if I try. But I do see a root popping out one of the drainage holes.
It gets fed diluted superthrive foliage pro every watering
Alright so this plant is a cutting that I took from the mother plant back in November 2025. The biggest leaf you see at the bottom, is from BEFORE I took the cutting and repotted.
The leaves it’s putting out are a decent size, but I’m confused as to why it’s not putting out bigger leaves especially as it’s climbing higher and higher.
I’m not sure how to explain how much light it gets, but I have 2 sansi 10w bulbs pointed at the growth point about 12-14 inches away, and it’s next to a West facing window.
My humidity stays around 50-55%
I water once every 7-10 days, and I apply diluted Superthrive Foliage Pro every watering. I always keep the moss pole moist too.
I also sometimes give it seaweed kelp fertilizer, humic acid, and unsulfured black strap molasses.
If there’s any information I left out that would be helpful, let me know
