Post Paylaşımları Hakkında

Merhaba!

60% of Gen Z men have agreed that "feminism has gone too far and is discriminatory towards men" — wow.

It seems that our men of youth have been becoming more and more overtly sexist and hostile towards women in the premise that they are consuming harmful pornographic media, "manosphere" ideologies, and incel radicalization that makes these vulnerable, lonely, young men believe feminism has indeed gone too far and is now used as a means to oppress men.

[EDIT: Please take note that the surveys only consist of a specific pool participant and not actual global or scientific statistics that should be taken as hard facts. The 60% shown in the title is only said to be derived from 20,000 something participants. Still, blatant sexist hostility has been becoming more and more rampant with the newer generation. As for the entire population of boys and men who uphold such misogynistic beliefs is currently unknown.

Furthermore this discussion's intention isn't to generalize Gen Z men, but to show how young men, even those who subsist of these sample pools are being taken advantaged of and lured into spaces meant to dehumanize everyone in a predatory manner.]

Some findings I found interesting are:

- Gen Z and Millennials are more likely to agree that a man who stays home to look after his children is less of a man (25%, 27% respectively) than Gen X (20%) and Baby Boomers (11%).

And..

- Roughly 40% of teenage boys aged 13 to 17 agreed with the assertion that women routinely lie about domestic and sexual violence.

Which leads me to question what has been inciting these young boys to be so actively hostile and distrustful towards women? What are your thoughts on this newly birthed victimhood mindset as a knee-jerk response to progressive feminism?

Personally I believe it's because the patriarchal system, which promised them the world as a man, no longer serves them and is now crumbling compared to the very oppressive eras these boys revere. They seem to externalize pain a lot; blaming women for their own sense of entitlement and "failure" as a man — of which consists of a highly toxic and rigid manhood meant to dominate. Additionally it is also true that for men, it may be harder to find a safety net, emotional support, and help that they may need to de-radicalize themselves to start working on themselves.

It seems that young women have rapidly become more progressive, while young men have plateaued or swung conservative. Weird.

Losing weight after recovering from anorexia

I developed anorexia when I was a teen through extreme dieting and lost a lot of weight in two months. This went on for a year, during which I reached a very unhealthy weight. I was extremely unhealthy.

My recovery wasn’t really by my own choice, but because I was put on birth control pills due to my lack of a period, which had actually been an issue even before the anorexia because I had PCOS. The birth control caused me to gain weight, but I was so thin at the time that the weight gain wasn’t very noticeable. During that period, I was able to heal my relationship with food, and things remained stable for a while.

About a year later, for other reasons, I started taking antidepressants, and then quarantine happened. Over the next two years, I found myself gaining a lot of weight. That weight stayed on for years. It was only last year, after making drastic lifestyle changes, that I was able to lose half of i. I’m still in the process of losing the remaining weight.

I think I lost the weight at a healthy rate, but I’ve realised that my body feels really stressed by the process. This made me wonder: does the body go through a different process after anorexia? I feel like, even though I have a much healthier relationship with food than I did before, my body still feels stressed, almost as if it’s afraid of the process or remembers what happened.

Has anyone else recovered from anorexia, later gained weight, and then lost it healthily? If so, did you experience a similar feeling of stress or any health issues while losing weight?

Apartment inspection?

Hi everyone, I just received a message that my landlord/property management wants to inspect my apartment, but they’ve only given me three days’ notice. Is this normal in Germany? Can I ask to reschedule it for two weeks later, and what are my rights regarding when they can enter? Also, what exactly are they allowed to do and check when they come? Any advice or experiences would be appreciated. Thanks!

Why I No Longer Debate Feminism Online: A Reflection on How Non-Western Men View Feminism

I don't know if this post is relevant or not, but I wanted to share my experience.
I recently got into an argument about feminism with a man on Reddit. I know, a terrible idea. I follow a women-only subreddit from my country (nonwhite, eastern.) I don't want to disclose which country it is, first for privacy reasons, and second because the men from my country on Reddit are truly disturbing. Many of them are incredibly illiterate, vile and openly misogynistic. So as you can imagine even though it's a women only subreddit, these guys just won't leave us alone. Whenever there's a feminist discussion they show up to downvote posts and leave nasty comments. This particular guy had the nerve to create made a post claiming that "feminism damages the relationship between women and men." I asked him if I could DM him to have a discussion. I know, that was a huge mistake. I honestly never use Reddit to argue with men. I usually don't even leave comments. But I don't know what came over me. I thought we might be able to find some common ground.
At first I explained that in our country's context, the reason relationships between men and women are so damaged is not feminism but religion and culture. Feminism didn't create these issues, it addressed them. He said he agreed to some extent, but then he gave me an example.
He said, "When a man murders a woman, calling it gender-based violence or saying it's a men's issue is sexist because it blames all men. We should just name the perpetrator, not the gender."
Honestly, I should have ended the conversation right there. You can have a discussion with someone who has different beliefs, but you can't argue with someone who can’t grasp such a basic concept like this.
This man genuinely did not understand why research consistently shows that most violent crimes are committed by men, why men are statistically more likely to kill their intimate partners, or why this is considered gender-based violence. I tried to explain regardless of the country, ethnicity, religion, or culture, the overwhelming majority of these crimes are committed by men.
He then brought up crime rates among racial minorities and non-white people, claiming that if I say men are more likely to commit violent crimes, then by the same logic I must also believe that Black people are more violent, which would make me racist. I never said anything remotely like that. I emphasized that, regardless of ethnicity, these patterns are overwhelmingly about men because you don't see women of any racial or ethnic group committing violent crimes at nearly the same rates. But he simply couldn't grasp what I was saying.
He kept bringing the conversation back to race and insisted that feminist logic is racist because "blaming a group of people" is inherently discriminatory. I explained that I don't believe every man is a murderer simply because men commit most violent crimes. I also pointed out that this isn't about biology but about socialization. His response was, "So you're admitting it's not men's fault—it's society's." I asked him if he'd ever heard of the concept of patriarchy. He hadn't.
Then he said something that made me realize just how little he understood. He asked, "Do you think that when a man kills or beats his wife, he thinks, 'I'm a man, so I'm going to kill this woman'?"
I was genuinely shocked that he believed this was what feminists meant by gender-based violence. I was honestly appalled by his complete misunderstanding. That was the moment I realized I would never discuss feminism with men like him again.
He couldn't understand why we use terms like femicide or why we have collective terms to describe systemic patterns of violence. He couldn't understand how patriarchal norms and socialization can shape behaviors over time or how misogyny can become normalized within a culture. He viewed the world in an incredibly simplistic, one-dimensional way, without recognizing any of the social or structural complexities involved.
How can you have a productive discussion about feminism with someone who is so detached from reality? Unfortunately, this man isn't an anomaly. From my experience, a significant number of men think this way. It's impossible to have a meaningful conversation with people who refuse—or are unable—to engage with ideas beyond a superficial level.

Note: I also want to note that this was neither my first nor last discussion about feminism with men from my country. Both online and real life I found myself in countless conversations about feminism and my experience has been the same every time. So I did not form this opinion based on one online conversation I had with a stranger.

Biraz erkek postlarına ara verelim? Hobileriniz neler?

Do anyone else suffer from ilnesses that makes their dysmorphia feel worse?

I have pcos, several mental illnesses on top if body dysmorphia and skin disorders as well. There are days when I am doing good. My skin looks great, my face is not puffy, my dark circles are not as obvious, overall I look good. In fact after I lost a bit of weight I would say that I feel attractive and people treat me better. But then there comes the flare ups which make me look like the most disgusting being on this planet. I look SO different that I become suicidal. Extremely puffy and saggy face, very pronounced dark circles, terrible skin covered in red patches and hormonal acne. Purple circles and sunken eyes. I live in fear that I might get another flare, or even worse, this is just how I look most of the time. Even on my good days I convince myself that this is not how I look normally and I exaggerate my attractiveness. I take so many photos throughout the day to check my face and my whole mood depends on these photos. I also feel like I am deceiving people because of how the difference in my looks. I can’t plan events days ahead in fear that it might coincide with my “bad days”.
It’s like a never ending cycle. I am so sick of dealing with this. And the worst part is that I feel as if people around me have these weird expectations that I should overcome these “symptoms” and look like the “good me”. I can see my moms, my bf or my friends disappointment and dissatisfaction on their faces when I don’t look good. They act like it’s my fault.
I don’t know how much of this is body dysmorphia or not but if anyone else deals with something similar I would love to hear your experiences.

Constant water retention after weight lost

I(F25) lost 13 kg over the last two year mostly through cico and walking. I am still in the process of losing weight as I am yet to reach my weight goal but for the last 5 months I’ve been retaining a lot of water, especially in my face. There are some days when I don’t. The difference between those days are very noticeable as I look like incredibly puffy in my face. When that happens the number on the scale changes to 0.5 to 1 kg so I know I am not imagining. I eat healthy, don’t consume a lot of sugar, fat or packaged foods. I eat enough fiber and protein and drink 2-3 L of water. I don’t know if its normal during weight loss process. I am not even doing any crazy diets. I think 13 kilos in the last 2 years is pretty healthy and slow so I don’t think I am putting too much stress on my body. It is not cycle related as it happens randomly throughout my cycle. I tried to see if its something I eat and tried to eat inflammatory foods but it still happens.
Did anyone else went through something like this? Is it normal when losing weight?
