Need some new suggestions

I’m currently on paternity leave and have been flying through books (for me) during downtime. Right now I’m wrapping up the 4th dungeon crawler carl and I’m seeking suggestions on books that you can easily pick up and put down and pick up based on an infant. I have found I can read a few pages of DC Carl and stop / start without any issue because it’s such an easy read. Here are my recent reads to get a flavor of what I like:

DC Carl
Kill anything that moves (Vietnam non fic book)
The women (didn’t love but was fine)
The will of the many (fantastic but deeply detailed)
The last man (+ other Mitch rapp books)
The correspondent (didn’t love this)
Into thin air (A+ book)
Piranesi
The in-between (hospice book - didn’t love)
Chosen
A song of war (Troy - great book)
Breakneck - chinas quest to engineer the future
The secret of secrets
Burnt worlds
Atmosphere
My friends
Educated
The hearts invisible furies

Thanks!

Smart thermostat advice - dual transformer

I have two thermostats in my house both of which are not smart - picture attached of the back.

We have two AC units, one in the attic and one in the basement to handle our top floor and bottom two floors, respectively. We have one radiant heating system (water based) located in the basement that is controlled by both thermostats but works one at a time (ie, the top floor thermostat only controls the heat for that floor).

As you can see, I do not have C wires which, based on my research, I need to update my thermostats to something connected to WiFi.

Ideally I want to control each zone using my phone, be able to setup automatic scheduled changes (eg, top floor AC adjusts from 71 to 77 at 7am M-F), or control it manually from the thermostat itself.

Any early advice on brands / models would be much appreciated. Is there a possibility of not needing a C wire? I am willing to have an electrician come out and assist as well if wiring is needed.

Thanks!

When to stop infant screen time?

To preface - I understand the pitfalls of screen time and that not all screen time is equal. That being said, we have an 8 week old with both parents on leave from work for another 60 days still. The downtime involves some background TV watching of sports, HGTV, Food Network, etc (no kids shows). Baby /still cycles from awake / sleep / awake etc as any young one would.

Recognizing that an infant cannot see well, when should we cut back on the TV simply being on? Baby is over 12 feet away at almost all times.

The easy answer is “now” but I’m curious if there is any studies that show at what ages (months) the harm is done (eg, using a bell curve of sorts?).

Secondary questions - how do others handle sports?

If so, is sedgehammer the strong preferred or is something like ready to spray ortho nutsedge killer sufficient?

T-minus 10 days until induction. Last minute suggestions?

We’re getting close! Will be our first. Nursery is set up, car seat, etc is all done.

Any last minute prep suggestions from vets? Does not even need to be directly baby related. E.g., we are cooking extra food with each dinner right now to throw another few servings into the freezer.

I keep asking my wife what else she needs and she says nothing left to do.

EDIT: thanks everyone! This is great

What would you put here?

Some sort of rack or cart I think. Need a counter to put a small appliance or two on top (to be used there). Our dark counters are giving me a hard time.

Robot vac and dog will be moved.
