Win streak vs play streak

I wish they were different streaks :( It absolutely sucks ro lose my streak because a puzzle was too hard when I just care about playing daily. I'm not saying get rid of win streaks, it would actually be cool to compare. But I hate getting reset to 0 aka the same result as if I didn't bother playing at all.

What on EARTH was on the block Nikki pulled??

Like it's a drinking game, what did the block say that allowed her to read that story 😭 "Read something dirty out loud" maybe, since those games usually try to be raunchy?

Do you prefer writing with indents or line breaks?

Tag doesn't quite match but close enough. I like to write essays for fun sometimes and I almost always use full line breaks. For me it keeps it from looking like a solid wall of text and helps me visualize the separation in my ideas paragraph to paragraph. What do you prefer and why?

"Did you know that if you..." recipes

"Did you know that if you put flour, eggs, sugar, and milk in a bowl... pour it on a hot pan... and pour syrup on top... it makes pancakes?""

Yes I did know, and even if I didn't, that is such an odd way to frame a recipe. Like it's not that serious but why phrase it like that?? Just say the recipe dude 😭 It would be different if it was an uncommon substitution or different way of making something, like trading eggs for applesauce in a cake or something, but that's not the case most of the time I see it, just a regular recipe made to seem like it's a life hack or something.

Double/triple features?

I've been coming up with movies that go together, for either obvious or small, silly reasons. So far I have:

Caught Stealing + A Quiet Place Day One= Calmest Cat Ever

Oh, Hi! + Your Monster = weird girl rage

Your Monster + Lisa Frankenstein= weird girl monster fucker

Enchanted + Hop + Sonic = James Marsden animal sidekick

10 Things I Hate About You + She's The Man = contemporary Shakespeare

K-Pop Demon Hunters + Sinners = the power of cultural music

Wonka + FNAF = just have fun with it

17 Again + Back to the Future = time travel almost incest

The Half Of It + Eternal Sunshine = romance that makes you depressed but also hopeful

Ella Enchanted + Princess Diaries + Devil Wears Prada = Anne Hathaway book-to-film adaptations

I'm interested to see what other people would put together!

Zodiacs as Barbies <3

Let me know if you feel like yours is accurate or which Barbies you would switch! There's obviously more Barbies than zodiac signs so I couldn't do them all 😭

I respect Olivia SO much as an artist, not just a singer.

I've been feeling like this since the title of OR3 dropped. After months of people theorizing which 4 letter word would be next, and what shade of purple the album would be, Olivia said screw it all and made the album pink and blue with a 10 word title. Especially combined with the Cosmopolitan interview where she talked about Sour and Guts being so fast and felt more about making sure others were satisfied than her own expression, I feel like OR3 is really proving to be HERS. Despite everyone clamoring for another 4 letter, purple, punk rock album she's writing and singing what's true and being unabashedly herself. It was so smart in my opinion to do this now before she let herself be locked into others' expectations. I think it's absolutely beautiful and totally aspirational and with the tracklist coming out today I'm even more excited to see what she has to say with the songs we haven't heard yet!

WTW for the opposite of "celebratory"?

Not insulting or anything of that variety, I mean more like "Let's see a movie after your interview If you get the job it's celebratory, if you don't it's ____". It would mean something to the effect of "condolences-tory" which is obviously not a word lol but I figure there's a word for that that I just can't think of, like something that's meant to cheer you up or make you feel better.

Sapphic romance?

June is coming up and I'm looking for wlw romances to read! I like adventure, paranormal, sci-fi, slice of life. Not really into romantasy. I like both novels and graphic novels! Some I've enjoyed are Coffee Shop In An Alternate Universe, Outdrawn, The Princess and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich, The Immesurable Depth Of You, and Heartstrings. (I also like the movies But I'm A Cheerleader and The Half Of It if that helps more convey the genre/vibe) I'm okay with some explicit scenes but def not into books where that's the main thing. Any suggestions?

Jumping on the trend :3

Realistically there are a few movies that fit into one category but I wanted to challenge myself to limit them to one use each, and this is what I got!

[pjo] [hoo] Cabin 3 mischaracterization

why why why when people talk about cabin 3 traits is it always just... water characters. Like ok yes he's the god of the ocean but Percy canonically DOESN'T have any particular interest in water. He doesn't surf which is a whole bit in TTC, we never see him go to the beach for fun like swimming, just to sit in full clothes and think, he doesn't even feel kinship with most sea animals canonically and still eats them like normal. People like to say he'll be a marine biologist or swim teacher oradjacent jobs when he gets older but that's just ooc in my opinion. Yeah he joins his school swim team but that's really just him getting an easy extracurricular. But what he actually likes is rock music and skateboarding and other normal city kid stuff.

And yet, when there's cross-fandom inserts for cabin 3 it's always just water characters. Ariel. Katara. the girls from H20. etc. Finnick, Luca, Uma, Aquaman. The main trait the series makes clear for Percy as a Poseidon kid is his impulse, his fury, the strength of his will and his brooding nature and unpredictability. His personality is like a wild ocean, he doesn't just randomly like water themed things.

And honestly this happens with every cabin. In the original quintology everyone was pretty much a normal kid with a kind of specific skill, but still well-rounded. The longer the books (and fandom) go on the more flanderized it all becomes to where what cabin someone is in is almost 100% of their personality. It just feels lackluster and honestly a little lazy to me idk.

(This is not meant to sound super angry or judgy, obviously fandoms are gonna fandom but I feel like it specifically bothers me with Cabin 3 more than the others because for example archer and poet characters being put in Apollo, at least that's specific and something that can actually be a personality trait. °•*Water*•° isn't 😭)

So I'm a Letterboxd user and started wondering what the Mane Six's top four might be! So far I have:

Rainbow Dash- Baby Driver, The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls In Love, Scarface, I Tonya

Pinkie Pie- Waitress (2007), But I'm A Cheerleader, Birds of Prey, The Lego Movie

Rarity- 13 Going On 30, True Romance, Hello Dolly!, Black Swan

Applejack- The Parent Trap, Toy Story 2

Fluttershy- 27 Dresses, Cinderella (1950), The Sound of Music

Twilight- Interstellar, 12 Angry Men

So basically RD, Pinkie, and Rarity are done but I need help with AJ, Fluttershy, and Twilight! Anyone have suggestions?

It's such a cop-out to criticism. I see it mostly for movies, which there have been plenty of that I've seen and either felt neutral on or disliked, only for my opinion to be disregarded because some rando thinks they have some kind of insider knowledge on what I'm thinking or my intelligence. It's insulting honestly. I'm not stupid for having a different opinion. I've said things along the lines of "I get it, but I'm not the target audience/it didn’t resonate with me" or "I get what it was trying to do, but I think it fell short for xyz reason" etc etc. Sure, SOMETIMES people dislike things just because they don't understand it but to automatically assume that feels dismissive and honestly small-minded, especially because the response is almost always "You're wrong!" and never "Well why don't you like it?"

Had a month-long forced hiatus due to nerve injury flare up but finally got 3 months of the year finished! Very excited to start April because I think it's the prettiest month of the whole year palette-wise and I get to introduce the next 3 colors :D
