So I took some bad advice and didn't soak the brown lentils (as I had previously) and as the title, it's caused a lot of bloating and gas. It was a batch cook (obviously, this is slowcooking) and I'd like to not waste the rest. So, when I re-heat the remainder, any advice on preventing the same symptoms?
I read that I should defrost and then purée the lentils. A bit of a shame since I like the texture. Any alternate that's not too much hassle?
I hope it's back with B42.20. It's a feature which is by no means needed, but I just LOVE it and I miss it.
Fingers crossed
I think in B42.20 there is a tiny chance they might have these, but I think they may be added later.
Imagine surviving six months/year only to be attacked by a pack of feral dogs. Of course, I'd want this as a sandbox option because I bloody love all dogs and hurting them would bleed my soul, but I'd love the option, and it'd be pretty true to what I would imagine would happen.
Then there are coyotes, bears and wolves. I know the former as common in kentucky.
I think it'd be incredibly tense to hear wolf/bear noises around your base, and they'd be a great way to balance the incredibly effective cows, sheep and other farm animals.
I want to check I have this right.
Do I have this right?
So before the meme boi's dive in. I'm saying alternative. And this isn't for new players because it requires you know most of the systems well.
It might sound counter productive towards enjoying the game but if you're looking for something closer to a long-term survivalist playthrough I think it helps a lot.
My thinking: I think two things limit the enjoyment of a particular save. Skills and loot. Once you have key loot it makes no sense to leave your base. From a survival standpoint, you may (and should) stay home. Having the loot set really low adds extra value to items when you find them and with B42 a lot of tools are craftable so you have the fun of working your way towards those.
important caveat: Don't limit magazines or books. The skills unlock the ability to make a lot of these tools and I think having something to read is a good way to pass time, when you need to.
Anyway. Not telling you how to play the game (ofc) but I am offering a suggestion on a fun way to play the game if you want to challenge yourself in a different way.
Some important caveats. I shouldn't ever feel like I'm apologising for watching a film. However, I do acknowledge the wild (no pun intended) theme and campy extravagance.
What surprised me was how much I enjoyed it. I had seen it before but remembered little about it. I'd saw some clips on Youtube and it piqued my interest. Obviously any film with Nicholson is worth considering, but I'd forgotten Spader was in it. I'd always loved Spader for The Secretary which is a bonkers piece of work but he really doesn't hold back in this and what a wonderful performance, from sleazy back-stabber to sexual predator/wild beast. The film really picked up at the latter part of the last act when he just let go and embraced the beast. So much fun to watch.
Anywho, I wanted to mention it in case you want to kill a few hours. I had a lot of fun.
Edit: My god Michelle...
It's called 'Start in New Game Plus'
TLDR - Link!
So my recent challenge has been to get to god run (heal/TP/Digging/infinite cast) in nightmare mode.
It's still fun because most of the time I die but I've done it, so I want a new challenge. This mod has given me something new to do.
So every time I complete the challenge I put the NG+ up by 1
Edit: I just played it, and it's MUCH harder because of several reasons. But the main one is in NG+ in nightmare you can't farm parallel worlds easily because of cursed rock.
