Bark Ranger! Acadia NP

Spent a great few days at Acadia National Park! Exploring, hiking and soaking up the sun. She’s a proud gal in her new Bark Ranger position!

Acadia NP Stamps

Found this at a visitor center and it’s very helpful to get all the stamps at the park! Sadly, I found this on the last day of my trip 🥲

Should I reach out to my old best friend??

As the title says, I am looking to reach out to an old girl best friend of mine. For context we started being friends in middle school and were attached at the hip for everything all the way through high school and college.

The issue is that we have had two MAJOR falling outs once during college where her then BF broke up with her and she needed more support than I could give her and she ended up resenting me but then I reached out and rekindled the friendship a year later. This was when we were probably around 23 years old.

The second falling out happened when we were 26 and again involved a very bad breakup she was going through and she needed way too much hands on support and I was better to support but ended up falling short due to my communication and issues at the time. She ghosted me and reached out 6 months later to ask if we could try and be friends again and I told her that I wanted nothing more but there would be no more ghosting allowed on her end as it’s very hurtful etc. That was the last time we talked almost 4 years ago.

I made peace with that decision knowing that maybe we are best suited not being bffs and that we both deserve friends that can hold space for us.

I am basically resolved in that, but recently I have had such a strong feeling that I should reach out to her. I turned 30 this year and realized that we weren’t in each other’s lives and how much that hurts when we talked and were like sisters for so many years. I’ve been to all of her siblings weddings, vacationed with her family during the summers, she knew my sibling before they unexpectedly passed away.

I love my friends now and I am grateful I have them. I’m just wondering whether I should reach out and see if we can try to be friends again, life is very long and I’ve experienced a lot of tragic loss that I worry that this will be something I regret losing entirely.

I did post this on other subs to get all the advice I need. On one hand, the worst that can happen is that I am left on read and on the other hand we talk and maybe figure out a path to being friends again

I (30F) am thinking about reaching out to an old best friend (30F). Not sure if I should?

Wegovy Using Ro

Hi All!

I recently started wegovy 1.5mg with Ro. I would not qualify for it with my insurance. I weight 160 at 5’9” and i’m looking to lose about 20 pounds.

All of my weight is in my stomach and i’ve had it for as long as I can remember even with strict diets, exercise etc. I’m a very active person naturally and eat a balanced diet. I have very high cholesterol (genetic) and i’m only 30 years old. I have had PCOS symptoms like very heavy 9 day periods, debilitating cramps, and facial hair growth.

I’m switching to a new PCP and would really like to see if there’s a case there to have me go on the pill through insurance. Has anyone had success with it when a traditional app says I would be declined coverage??

Ro will be very expensive in the long run with their $150/month membership and then the prescription cost itself.

thank you!!

Being a sub-contractor help

I have some questions regarding sub-contracting at Accenture. I am a consultant that is about to start a 6 month engagement with an accenture partner.

The partner’s company takes a lot more holidays that Accenture gives and I was wondering how people handle this. From my understanding I will be the partner company’s full time contractor and my billing will to them fully too.

I will be essentially working as a contractor at the partner company and doing work with a mutual client that will also get billed.

Looking to purchase first turntable from FB marketplace

Hi all,

I am looking to purchase my first turntable! I’m primarily looking at these that I found on FB Marketplace and would love some feedback on which one is worth the money and beginner friendly.

I want something that I can have for a long time and has good sound (not sure if those two go together!) Also, when purchasing, how do I check if everything works well??

Thank you!!

Looking to go to Death Valley in December

Hi all!

I am looking to visit DV NP at the end of this year and will fly into Las Vegas. I'm primarily going for all the dark sky events and New Moon.

I had some questions regarding the best way to see the park and how much time is recommended to see it? Does renting a car and then driving in and out of the park make sense or renting a camper van?

Also, are there any adjacent parks that are close by worth seeing? We were thinking of hitting Joshua Tree, but out main goal is to thoroughly see Death valley ~5-6 days.

Thank you!!

My First Pieces! Celebrating a Milestone 🫶🏼

Got my first pieces this week! Initially was going to buy the love necklace with diamonds but ended up loving the juste un clou ring in yellow gold!

Then a few days after the ring purchase I bought the juste un clou single earrings as a pair. I loveeee a huggie hoop and thought the price is steep to buy two singles, to me it’s totally worth it. The hoops are so comfy and I can wear it in my helix as well.

The SA I had gave me the absolute best experience both times, chocolates, perfume samples, cappuccinos and travel pouches! (1 for the ring, 2 for each earring). He confirmed the price increase worldwide on May 21st which makes me so glad I got them now!

I joined a little over a month ago and have been on the bench since. I have been trying to make connections but most roles are filled or need a lower level to make the budget. I am also starting to get some heat for not being on a project already.

I am increasingly getting frustrated because I am losing my skill set the longer I am benched. Most people would be elated to have this time, but when my industry is rapidly changing due to AI it’s important that I stay on top of it. I have been interviewing for other roles, is it worth sticking it out here?

I am going to miss this airline very dearly. The spirit flights allowed me to see the US on a budget and gave me the opportunity to dream big and leave the small town I grew up in.

The staff were always considerate of me and my service animal and would often times try to place us up front to avoid any issues with fellow passengers. They were the only airline to ever treat us with such consideration.

I flew spirit when I needed to rush home and without breaking the bank. It’s awful to see that I now will be stuck with Delta and Jet Blue for those needs when those flights are all easily $400-$500 round trip. Traveling should be accessible not a high net worth persons privilege.

Hi everyone!

I am helping my mom get her OCI card. She renounced her Indian passport/citizenship back in 1992 and did not receive a certificate saying any details. She is now a dual citizen of Britain and America. The only proof she has is stamps on her Indian passport saying that it has been cancelled.

I tried to fill out the VFS form to retrieve a certificate as this is the hold up for her OCI app, but it. The VFS form is asking questions about the expiration date of her Indian passport and it doesn’t not have it stated at all on any of the pages.

I have tried to reach out to my consulate and get support, but it’s been futile. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!
