Tot m’n vrouw me ineens lichtelijk in paniek riep.

I hate my body. Is it still possible to turn things around at 27?

27M, Hey everyone,
I started going to the gym a few months ago, currently around 2–3 times a week. I’m also trying to eat more protein, but as you can probably see, my body still needs a lot 0f work.

I used to be very overweight and lost a significant amount of weight years ago , but I did it without any strength training. Now I want to approach things properly and hopefully build a healthier, fitter-looking body.

Is it still possible to make a big change from where I am now? And if so, what would you recommend? Should I go to the gym more than 2–3 times a week? Should I focus heavily on protein? Should I cut and lose more fat first, or would it be better to maintain my weight and focus on building muscle?

I honestly just need some guidance because I really hate how my body looks right now. With clothes on I can hide it pretty well, but without clothes I feel extremely insecure about it.
Realistically, how long could it take before I start looking noticeably fitter if I stay consistent?
Any advice, especially from people who have been in a similar situation, would be massively appreciated. Thanks!

M27 Constantly comparing myself to my best friend. M26 Has anyone dealt with this?

I (M 27) have a really good friend (M 26) that I’ve been close with for years, but lately I’ve noticed something about myself that I’m not happy with.
It feels like I’ve developed this weird sense of FOMO or competitiveness toward him. For example, if I skip the gym for a day but he goes, I immediately think, *“Shit, I’m falling behind. I need to go too.”* We both make music, and whenever he releases a new track, my first thought is, *“Fuck, I need to work harder.”*
On paper, that sounds like a great source of motivation. But honestly, it doesn’t feel healthy. It feels like I’m constantly trying not to fall behind instead of just focusing on my own journey.
I know this is entirely on me, he’s not doing anything wrong. I just want to get back to being myself and stop measuring my progress against someone else’s.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? If so, how did you deal with it?
Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

Pain 2 days after re-opening my nostril piercing. Is this normal?

Hi everyone,

I got a nostril piercing back in 2022. Last month I took it out, but I decided I wanted it back. Yesterday I had it reinserted. The hole wasn’t completely closed, so my piercer used a taper to reopen it instead of doing a fresh piercing.

The first day everything seemed fine. I’ve been cleaning it with a sterile saline solution (0.9% sodium chloride).

However, now on the second day, especially since this evening, it’s become quite painful. There’s not much visible going on, no major redness or discharge, but my nose feels very sore and bruised, and it seems a little swollen. The pain is definitely more than I expected. i have a diamond stut btw.

What should I do? Is it possible that the jewelry is too tight and putting pressure on the tissue? Or is this a normal reaction after tapering an old piercing open again?

Thanks in advance for any advice ❤️
