nesta??
from the looks of it it sounds like nesta ?
New pov???
omg this could lead to so many directions...gwyn?? nesta? elain? 😭 definitely has to do with the valkyries though
feyre's purpose
im biased towards feyre - i enjoyed her pov in the first two books, she deserved so much more better after carrying the survival of her entire family on her back since fourteen and deserved the healing and hope she never had - before it all became about "rhys, rhys, rhys, rhys" - like she systematically dismantled the spring court from the inside out, and she got out, but at what cost? i feel like she deserves better in the sense that she was a
all that fear of getting cooped up all day and being made to party and pop out babies...everything for her feels pretty stagnant as of now because at the end her worst nightmare sort of became her reality. yes, she seems happier and more fulfilled and less isolated, but her entire life she owes to rhys. her friends are his friends, her place is with him, those so-called friends so much so went behind her back and hid a life-threatening pregnancy from her? it was a violation done against her own body. like, by no means was nesta wasn't right by intentionally hurting feyre and blurting out the truth in that fashion, but feyre deserved to know.
it just seems utterly powerless, all that hard-won freedom. remember, she's like the Big Bang of the entire maasverse (besides a princess who loved her kingdom very much) but what's her role in the upcoming books? she deserves rest and peace - but shifting narratives have put the spotlight on nesta as the savior, as the next "heroine" of the sjm universe alongside aelin/bryce/manon etc soo...
i hope im not rambling lol, i've tried to say this best as i can but i hope my point still stands. all opinions are welcomed, and if you don't like anything, it's easy to leave :)
dorian havilliard
soo im rereading qos rn and i just need to come on here and blabber my love for dorian havilliard, i love that guy to bits. that man has gone through hell and back and has never lost his grace, humanity and basic kindness to the people around him. tbh he and chaol are my two favourite male characters sjm have written - chaol i get why people don't like him because of how he acted towards aelin and his personality in general, but he felt so relatable and real.
honestly, with all the recent talk, theories, debates, ship wars, and crossover rumours since the cover and title release of acotar 6 & 7, it just reminds me how i feel as though his story was never resolved. and he's just a central part of the overarching plot of tog in and out of itself. MAYBE, just maybe if that crossover happens with acotar we get to see him show up. like i know the core narrative of throne of glass has wrapped us but there's so much in store - i get why him and manon parted ways, but there's so much left in store!
and as much as i want aelin to enjoy her newfound peace, i think we all know our girl can't survive without excitement lol. she's going to start whopping everyone's asses if that crossover happens 😂
chances of a tog crossover?
who's thinking of a potential tog crossover in the upcoming books? i know the overall arcs of throne of glass have concluded, but i saw that spider on the new covers and i instantly thought of maeve lol. i imagine since the book hints at a multi pov with the ic now divided, we might get nesta and azriel's perspectives with bryce.
what do u guys think?

some feedback on first chapter :)
edit: soo i've proofread this first chapter, and btw this snippet is like in the middle of chapter 1 so it's not where it starts off and why it might feel a little off but i felt like this was a part that needed some glossing, but im aware there's other areas i need to work on, and it'd be much appreciated if some of you guys could give me some tips or ideas. thank you!
i think some people forget half of the core 10 aren't even friends
so we all have our favorites and those we don't like and that's ok, so long as we remember these are all struggling teens in the 2000s and failed by the system and adults meant to be protect them. BUT, half of them aren't even friends, hang out by pure circumstance, are at odds with each other and some don't even talk.
lizzie, claire, patrick, gibs and hughie were the main core 5, before breaking apart after caoimhe's funeral and then johnny meets the boys. shan is at bcs at this point and joins tommen in 2005 when b10 begins. katie joins before hugh and lizzie's breakup (correct me if i'm wrong i haven't read r10 in a while lol). their appearances together are during the b13/k13 timeline before they're left broken up by t7, and even then you can see the cracks begin to from.
like, honestly, i feel like they should all go their own seperate ways after graduation since they're just toxic at best. maybe they might resolve their differences afterwards? they all happen to be together by common circumstance. some of them stick to each other, the others hurl insults at each other and enable it, and others enable it.
hell, it seems like aoife and joey don't even bother with half of them since they have their own strong and more healthy, problem-free inner circle than the core 10, and at the least joey shows some camaraderie with lizzie and katie is one aoife's best friends.
sjm flopped badly
soo, i'm going to be honest here, i've just finished reading acosf, i see a lot of myself in nesta as i know many do in this fandom, though having a sister myself, i hated the way she treated them. like, she had the agency to help but ultimately chose not to out of her own deep-rooted apathy. but the hiking scene where she broke down had me bawling my eyes out. usually, sjm handles healing arcs well (tower of dawn for chaol, heir of fire for aelin/celaena after nehemia's death, acomaf for feyre) but i just feel so...conflicted?
however, i felt like there was no conversation from either end in an attempt to meet halfway and a lot of acosf was smut. i felt like in a way her emotional breakthroughs were unearned in how much she could've processed, and her personal journey of self-actualisation was overshadowed by romance tropes. there's so much more i could say, but it doesn't feel enough.
like for example:
- im all for girl power and women empowerment but how tf did nesta, gwyn and emerie just win the blood rite after only a few months of casual training in comparison to centuries-old warriors who've trained for as long as they've lived. this felt like an unrealistic, cheap win.
- ok and, the magic baby plot device, with rhys deliberately holding the autonomy of feyre's body against her and hiding the lethal risks of the pregnancy it felt like feyre's life-threatening pregnancy was solely manufactured to force nesta into a redemptive, submissive position. this is a more complicated point i feel like needs looking into.
- nesta buys her redemption through a grand magical gesture. this allows her to avoid the hard, uncomfortable work of sitting down and verbally apologizing to her feyre for years of emotional neglect and verbal abuse
that's pretty much most of my points. im still trying to figure out certain stuff lol. all opinions are welcomed, and remember, if you don't like it, don't read :)
how do i stop.
hii everyone, so I saw another girl around my age post something similar on this about her insecurities so i guess it's made me feel since it's so hard to turn to any safe space. idk what other subreddit to post this in soo... i guess this is the place??
im f13 almost 14, and I've felt this way since forever. im 55kg and 157cm and everyone tells me it's the healthy, but I feel like an alien in my own skin. i have this distorted perception of myself whenever I look in the mirror, and it's usually me picking apart my self esteem by focusing on perceived flaws. i wear the same clothes over and over because i associate it with a place of familiarity = comfort and my mum gets rlly frustrated and angry with me because she buys dresses for me to wear but my wide ribcage and shoulders just ruin it, every family event and wedding and party is a nightmare bc i don't like how i look🙃
i hate that im so short, like i feel like a box next to most of my friends and classmates, they've all shot up in height and have the perfect bodies to match. it's easy to find the beauty in others besides myself. the short girls i see are picture-perfect even with no filter and the tall girls, are in my mind, all perfect proportions. like clothes are just made for you.
ngl im self aware of my own faults and i over analyse and overthink EVERYTHING but it's so hard to feel confident and secure in myself when i live with my head. it feels so lonely and suffocating, like im being sucked in a black hole. especially when I dont feel happy either with my body or inside and i love my friends and family and they're there for me but i feel so judged and misunderstood. school im not even going to start bc teachers feel like they're only there for the sake of it and ppl are copy and paste and it's all competition.
im also a muslim girl so i wear the hijab only to make my parents happy but my mum forces me to wear clothes or adjust my hijab in a way i don't like myself in and i feel as though only exacerbates my insecurities and i cant help but feel so jealous of other girls and ppl who have more freedom to experiment different styles and looks.
anywayy this is the end of my rant. someone pls tell me what it takes to be better and for IT to get better. its just this nightmare. it's been yrs like this and im doing counselling at school and its going nowhere 😭
lost on what book to continue!!
so I've just finished queen of shadows and i know empire of storms and tower of dawn happen at the same time, however, i know that i don't really want to do the tandem read I've heard some other readers do.
i just don't know what book to start off from queen of shadows first and what will be better for setting up myself kingdom of ash (which im not prepared for), and ive already been spoiled by tiktok on what the big cliffhanger is at the end of empire ot storms 🙃
what hot takes do you have on sjm's writing?
she's brilliant at dropping little easter eggs along the way and creating a world and characterst that immerse you in, but i've been on throne of glass for the past month and oh my god, the writing is so nuanced and the characters have more depth.
but then, acotar, i love it for the sheer relief in the entertainment. we stick to nothing but the night court and the ic for four books besides the first one and i felt like i was just losing the plot even tho acofas was cute. idk whether to keep my hopes too high for acotar 6 & 7 in the upcoming months, but after the crossover in cc, something might happen?..
everyone is entitled to their own opinion (:
