A guy in my neighborhood gave me a steal to “just take it all” on his pedals, guitars, cab and amp at his garage sale last weekend. The stuff I wanted to keep for myself was worth well over what he wanted for everything so I said sure.

In the lot there was this Blackstar HT-5RH head. It’s not really something I’d use so I just got around to giving it a clean up and run through to trade or sell it on.

I gotta say this thing would be amazing for a bedroom player, way, WAY better than it has any right to be for the price. I think I’ve got a new favorite recommendation for when people ask me what they should get for an at home bedroom practice amp. The only con I’d say is the reverb isn’t great, but who wouldn’t rather have a kick as reverb pedal anyway, right?

Got a deal on this Suhr Modern Pro locally.

I didn’t quite have “Suhr money”, and tried to trade for it first but couldn’t find anything that worked for both of us. Eventually I (apologetically) offered $1650 because that’s what the guitar/fun money fund had in it… aaand he said “no” 😩.

I sort of moved on dejectedly, but a week later he messaged me back and said he’d had “enough of trying to sell things on the internet” and would take it if I still wanted it. Seemed too good to be true so I panic emailed Suhr CS to confirm it, and everything was as it should be.

I was kind of shocked when I got there at the condition. It’s a 2016 but literally looked brand new. I talked to him a little and he sort of embarrassingly admitted he bought it to learn guitar and gave up. It hung on the wall for a few years then sat in its case in the closet the rest of that time.

I put new strings on it, wiped it down gave it my preferred setup and the thing plays like an absolute dream!!

I waited patiently for someone else to post this but you guys took too long and I had to do it myself, I’m disappointed in you.

I’ve been using a Mosky 10 for years now to power +12 expensive pedals. The last few weeks I’ve been chasing some intermittent noise and after a bunch of testing I was sure it was the Mosky. So, I finally took the plunge and upgraded my power supply ordering the Cioks DC7 and C8E.

Spoiler, power supply wasn’t the issue and I can’t tell a bit of difference between the Mosky electrons and the Cioks electrons while playing lol.

Am I returning $360 worth of Cioks gear and going back to the Mosky… Naahh.

If there is a Warm Mystery Box trade thread out there already I couldn’t find it. Thought it might save spam if we all collected in one place. I suppose if mods don’t like it they’ll take it down.

Personally I WTT: Warm Centavo Silver for something like the Phaser or RingerBringer. Could be interested in other non-Warm stuff too if you’ve got something interesting in a modulation or good octave fuzz. I can add cash if needed to balance.

Trying to find a good thick Tone Bender like fuzz, but I’d prefer something with either a gate or bias control for when the noise gets out of hand and/or I can do the spitty splatty fuzz thing.

I’ve listened to vids on the Ramble FX Twin Bender and it’s really good and a few others like a Thorpyfx Boneyard I like.

Anyone got any other good options?

Brought this old boy home from our vacation house for some TLC today. It’s been out there for years getting beat on by kids and guests, so I decided It’s time for some new strings and a well earned cleaning, polish and setup.

Got it all done tonight, and damned if this old $100 guitar doesn’t just sound fantastic. Crazy how good it looks after the life it’s had. It really brought back a lot of memories too. This baby was my go to panty peeler back in Highschool and freshman year of college 😂

First let me say sorry, I hate these posts when other people do them, but this one is a bit complicated.

Here’s the thing, I can’t find any other black OM-03’s for sale ever, but also when I look at the details on this guitar nothing pops out to me as “oh yeah, that’s fake” but I also don’t know Larrivee very well so 🤷‍♂️.

The story from the seller is that this is a Special Request OM-3 in Satin Black. He says he has verified with Larrivee and has email documentation from them, but it’s not like that would be all that tough to fake.

I know Larrivee does special requests and they do, do a Satin black that looks like this on their J-03BK. Seller is also established and solid with lots of feedback. It would be F2F purchase and I’d be able to play it and check it over but it’s also over an hour away so I don’t want to waste the time if it’s an obvious fake and I’m just not seeing it.

Anyone have any thoughts or insight they can share?

Surprised I haven’t seen anyone talking about the new Marshall Jimi Hendrix Limited Edition half stack. So it’s a 1959JHM Super Lead 100w handwired, a 1960AHW 4x12 and a Dunlop JHF1 all with some purple swirl. Only 300 will be made. All for $5k

I mean I’m not in a place I could ever play that beast, but honestly I don’t think it’s a horrible value if it’s what you’re looking for. I know “value” and a $5k half-stack shouldn’t ever be in the same sentence, but pricing it out with just standard versions of everything and it’s something like ~$4600. I’d assume the limited version will hold its value better than standard. Probably the pedal alone will be $800 when the first one hits Reverb since that version is only going to be available with the set. Idk just thought I’d see what people’s take is.
