It's a red flag to say "I want to learn" now FYI everyone 🙄

I kinda understand her rant, but when did "I want to learn more" become a negative?? You're always learning and growing. You can't win in this job market. It's rigged against you at all times.

Posted that I got hired a week ago after a year of searching. Lost my job 8 DAYS IN!!!

This is a doozy of a story. So I just posted about a week ago that I got a job at a game store as their event coordinator. When I was getting hired, he told me he wanted "boots on the ground, events planned right away". So... I did. I scheduled 7 awesome events in a week. Cozy gaming nights, Ren Fest Market, Retro Gaming Pajama Party, Nerdy Singles Night, Party Finder Party, etc. On the 8th day, he sat down and said "I don't think this is going to work out".

I asked what I did wrong, and he said, "It's not you; you're the best event coordinator I've ever hired. You did exactly what I asked for. It's my customers. They feel pushed out with the events that have been planned, and I read my audience wrong. I thought the events that you brought were a great idea, but my weekly customers are panicking and messaging me all week, saying they don't want this."

So... I'm out of a job. Again. I just got an interview today at a non-profit; however, they said they got 200 applications and are interviewing many people from that list—and I only have 3 years of experience as an event planner... so there will definitely be someone with more experience than me. I am almost out of savings. I don't know what I'm going to do. I was so excited, and now, because I did my job so well, I'm OUT OF A JOB AGAIN.

Edit: for clarity, I am female. Just letting everyone know because there's a lot of dude, man, bud type comments. 😅

Also, I forgot to mention that it's also a space issue, which my boss should have thought about before hiring me. 🫠

He also told me he wants me on contract, which could be 0 hours a month or 15 hours a month. Super inconsistent. But it's something I guess. I really need a full-time job though. 😭😭

Queen of Cakes in Edina, MN. What I found online vs what I got!

I found the first image online and laughed really hard so I wanted the cake for myself but I needed more rainbow (Raenbow??). Literally just asked for a rainbow background and they DELIVERED. It's almond flavored with raspberry filling. The cake was almost gone and it's HUGE. That's how much people liked it!! EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS!!!!

The Romantasy Ball was amazing 😍🌹

I hosted a Romantasy Ball in my home town, Minneapolis MN. We had authors selling books, vendors selling fantasy wares, TWO photo booths, henna, tarot reading, themed cocktails/mocktails, themed food, dance lessons at the top of the hour, and pop music we could dance to at the bottom of the hour. 60 people bought tickets and many wanted another one!! (Definitely in the spring). I'm so happy!!! So much work was put into this. Hours of planning, setting up, take down... It was all worth it.

Custom dress from overseas -- I got really lucky!!

I was looking for a dress for a Romantasy Convention I'm part of, and saw this dress online. I decided to make it custom-fit my figure since they didn't have my size. I took a chance because the dress itself is only $140 (with this many layers and fabric, that's a STEAL) and I didn't know what to expect. Well, WOWZA! I feel fantastic in this dress. I love how I look and I will wear this EVERYWHERE!!! Grocery store, indoor mall... I don't care where. I just want to look this good all the time, haha. Love this dress!! Gives ACOTAR vibes!!!!

ETA: please give love to the photographer if you can. She is why this photo is so magical!! @studiokalphotography on Instagram.

And thank you for the love. This made my entire month. I am grateful for all the comments!! I'm trying to get through all of them but there are so many 😭 I'm upvoting even if I don't comment. ❤️

The dress I'm wearing to the Romantasy Ball this weekend in MPLS, Minnesota!

I'm hosting a Romantasy Ball in my hometown, and I bought this beautiful dress last year to go with the theme. I am so excited to wear this and dance in it. I'm also wearing it to the Romantasy Convention in Minnesota in November as well. Heck, I'm going to wear this dress to the grocery store, indoor mall, and anywhere else I can. It just makes me so happy!!!! LOOK HOW IT FLOWS!!!!

Neopets has an Asexual pet option now. Welcome CakeAce to the family!

I looooove her so much! Neopets has pretty much every flag you can imagine. I'm very lucky to get Ace on my first try -- it's all luck which flag you get.
