Just need to vent. Had a hell of a start to my shift tonight. In less than 2 hours, I had to:

File a police report for theft.

Explain to a customer why they can not let other people into the store between midnight and 7am.

Ask someone if they were OK and needed an Ambulance because they were hit by a car.

And by this point I was already fed up, had a customer try to enter with his hood up, got mad I made him.take his hood off before granting him entry, made a comment about not being a thief, then looked at the very clearly unassembled coffee machine and asked if it was working, to wich I responded with "does it look like its in a usable state atm?" Where he then got mad and said he was complaining to my manager for thinkong he was a thief (I didn't i just made him take his hood off) and giving him attitude (granted I did give him attitude. But fucking srsly? Use your eyeballs)

Then had to deal with the police calling me aboutt he report i filed earlier while trying to help a group of customers while simultaneously trying to get the system to reboot so I could serve the customers.

And the Customer washroom is clogged and people are complaining about it. Like I have any control over that. (Happened before my shift started)

All within a 2 hrs period.

Smokers, why do you never ask specifically for what you want?

I work a job where I have to sell smokes to customers. No big deal. But why do yall never specify what you are looking for.

For example "I'll have a John Players"

Like ok? John Players what?? I have 4 different kinds, 2 sizes of each kind and 2 Lengths of each. Please specify.

So I'll ask "Wich Size/intensity did you want?"

Then I always get attitude for asking. Like, im not a mind reader, man.

Thats like walking into pizza shop, saying you want a Pizza. Then expecting the cook know you wanted a NY style pepperoni with parmesan. Like how am I supposed to know that?

Im trying to the get the Trophy for seeing all Duo Kinships. And I can not get Reverto to go to level 3. Every time we get super close, he decides to start skill spamming.

Also, while im here. The game is saying I never saw the Dup kinship skill with Cheval. But I know for certain I have because I mainly used Ratha during Chevals chapter and made a point to look for it cause I was hoping a Rathian and Rathalos Kinship would be unique.

Advice would be much appreciated.

I have asked this question to myself many times over the years. And the modern Era of games has only solidified this question.

Why can't we play as Wyverians within the games? Has Capcom ever given us a reason?

I Ask cause we have many examples of Wyverian Hunters.

Hinoa and Minoto in Rise. The Seeker from World. And I know not technically a Hunter, but Alwin from MH Stories 2 all come to mind.

So what gives?

And no im not looking for mods or in game headpiece that turn my ears into Wyverian ears. I mean in universe like actually playing as a Wyverian.

If they don't wanna give us full Blooded Wyverians, why not explore the concept of Half Bloods? And the Politics behind it.

Zellard in Stories 2 saw Humanity as inferior because of their shortened lifespan. Surely he isn't the only one, and obviously, some don't mind humans at all, joining the guild to help hunters. So what gives capcom?

Firstly. As much as I love Reverto in Stories 2. Why did they take away his Signature Tigrex Longsword and give him a Greatsword? His Longsword actually had sentimental value and a Story behind it. We learnt in Stories 1 if you took the time to do his quest he has a Tigrex Longsword because it was the first Monster to give him trouble. And it was that Tigrex encounter that allowed him to understand Riders on a level most other Hunters couldn't.

So why replace it with a Diablos Greatsword? Just because they didn't want to program Longsword moves into the game specifically for him? If thats the reason its such a lame ass excuse and Strips him of something that represented his Character growth.

Secondly, maybe im just confused on lore. But why is Kyle the only Hunter depicted in the Stories Series as having a Palico? I know Reverto has a house cleaner Palico but where is his hunting Palico? Is it different because he is a Scrivener?

Thirdly. Why tf can't we get a Palico Monstie? We dont even need to have a egg hunt thing, we can just do a thing where we hire them. Did they want to avoid that option for some reason? Feels so silly to me. Especially when we can get Palamutes.

Why do the fancy Steaks not get used in mainline titles? I would love having Armor meats and Muscle meats as a hunter.

>! !<How is the Hunters guild not at all aware of the world ending events that happened in Stories? You would think someone in a mainline title would have mentioned an entire continent being draped in madness inducing blight. Did they just assume it was a Gore magala outbreak? !<

Also wtf made Cheval Think he could take on a Nergigante with a Damn Rathian? Its nice to see him grow up, get stronger, etc. But being a little overconfident, dont you think?

Also as a Funny side note. Reverto needs to get a lottery ticket. Because the chances of the dude running into 2 riders, both with a very unique rathalos prophecies to end a apocalyptic event, both named Ratha, accompanied by Navirou is so specifically uncommon to happen twice in one lifetime. And Reverto had that shit happen in the span of less than 3 years.

I love these games. But they just leave me with so many more questions.

I have a number of decent Talismans but im just unsure on wich ones to actually use because of how Vague Capcom like to make shit. Like I can't understand why Capcom cannot just tell us the exact increase amount in numbers instead of "Slight amount, Moderate amount." Like just be clear Capcom.

Favorite Monsties: Palamute (NE) Focused on Status and Critical. Speed Focused.

A Nergigante Focused of Raw power.

Zamtrios. Mainly for Swim, but the ICE + Technical Mix has come in real clutch.

I'm 30 M from Canada and on a limited budget. This only gives me roughly 100 to 150$ per week for groceries and nesseceties. I want to lose weight but I don't have access to more income.

Currently I am what i call the "College dorm diet". Ramen packs/cups. Hotdogs. Grilled cheese. Frozen things that are cheap. Just stuff that I can get cheaply in bulk that will last me awhile. But I know these arent healthy.

When I have tried branching out to healthier options. Like making soups, stews, chicken and beef, etc. I find the food doesn't last nearly as long. It's healthier, but I dont get as much and I end up running short or missing meals in order to space my portions out more.

I am also very picky with my coffee. As some brands upset me. And it's sometimes easier for me to get energy drinks since I can get them in bulk amounts at work on sale with my employee discount. (They don't upset me at all. They go down smooth)

For activity I walk nearly 4.9KM, one way. Almost 4 days a week as long as the weather allows it. Meaning if the weather is really nice I can get upwards of 9.8 km in a day, atleast 4 days a week. Thats not including the physical labor of work itself. Outside of the walking though I dont get out much as I can't afford to go to the gym.

Any suggestions welcome. I just wanna get out of this depression rut and get my life back in order.

Capcom I just can't. How did you manage to make so many QoL improvements from Stories 1 into Stories 2. But then fuck up other stuff?

Why do I have to sift through dozens of completed quest to find my uncompleted quest? How did you overlook this? Its such a mess at times. And it would be better if I could filter as uncompleted. But I can't even do that. Who tf made this system when the first game was fine in that regards. Even your mainline titles push Completed quest over into there own section.

Then not counting Variants and Named Monster's as completion for generic monster slaying is also kinda bad. Like I killed a White Monoblos. They still count as a Monoblos. Let me complete my generic monoblos slaying quest.

On a better note. Why is this armor system superior? Why can't mainline titles use this? But no instead I have to spend a whole Week in world hunting for a specific monster part instead of this amazing armor system.

Yall confuse me Capcom. You do so much good and the muck up the good with weird changes for stuff that didn't need changes.

I have ideas for my books. As the story is a High fantasy setting that takes place on an Earth before any recorded History. But the books do eventually bleed into modern day.

Now my concerns are taking concepts of modern day society and blending some Fantasy elements into them.

For example. Radiation is meant to be a form of highly concentrated Magic that will serve a purpose in the story.

But the things im concerned with are how people will respond to the ideas of characters or Fantasy/ magic interacting with established history and other stuff.

For example. One idea I had for my book is that they Japanese Suicide forest houses a portal to the Feywild. And that the Forest started because Fey creatures were protecting the portal and leaving bodies strung from trees to deter explorers. But as years progressed into modern day the magic from the portal and the legend led to what we know today as the forest.

I also had the idea of having some characters seeing opportunities within current ongoing politics and using or exploiting them to there advantage.

Now writting in no way represents my actual worldview values and politics. These are fictional characters in a semi magic and alternative setting. But that doesn't stop people from being extreme and accusing authors of things simply because xyz characters did something.

And therein lies my issue. I want to write my stories. But controversy's regarding Authors and things there characters have done have sort of put a wedge in my creativity or desire out of fear of being burned at the pyre for simply writmy books.

I've seen a lot of hate for Alwin. How he is weak and the worst companion. But that objectively isn't true.

Avinia is actually the worst companion. And I'll explain.

Both Alwin and Avinia are very ice focused. which is the biggest factor. Likewise so is there Monsties. But Avinia actually suffers as a result of this because during her chapter about 75% if not 90% of the Monsters in Avinia's Chapter are Ice Resistant. Her Damage is so limited as a result. And then factor in the fact she uses a Hunting horn and her dps is borderline useless.

Now some will Argue that Hunting horn gives you buffs. But honestly I found all her buffs useless. And very poorly timed. Even the Healing she offers despite being free is less effective than a lifesoot.

Alwin on the other hand consistently poisoned ennemies. Wich worked well with Poison chaser hammers. The Monsters in his chapter aren't Resistant to his chosen element, making his dps already substantially better, and he uses a bow wich is amazing for part damage. The only issue Alwin had that I really noticed is his lack of HP against certain monsters. But he makes up for that by having far superior healing items than Avinia.

Avinia will spam minimal healing items. Potions, lifesoot, her weak healing skill. Meanwhile Alwin comes equipped with Mega Potion and Life powder. Wich given that his Chapter is sooner is rather overkill. It feels like Avinia's Chapter was supposed to come before Alwins when you look at his available items.

Also Alwin offered better help in dialogs. I found alot of Avinia's chat was just her complaining about problems that you had to find solutions to. Meanwhile Alwin was consistently offering advice on how to deal with Monsters. What items to use. What parts to break. Alwin felt like he was sharing knowledge with the player while also learning his own. While Avinia was just... being depressed.

Alwins chapter also expands on things I wanted to know. We got info about the world, flashbacks, moments that showed his character and personality.

Meanwhile Avinia's chapter was us and by Proxy her Luying to her Village about who we were and just going a long ass list of chores for her Village.

Finally Alwin has flair and style. When he activates Kinship he has emotion, a smug smile, confidence and strikes a pose. Avinia is just Generic Crystal activation and monotone dialogue, there was no personality in her Kinship skill. Avinia had more personality in the first game. The only personality we seem to really get from her in this game is when she gushes over fluffy things.

Thats my 2 cents on it. I know the games a bit older. But it just silly to me I see so much Alwin Slander when he has been by far one of the best parts of the story for me.

About a year or 2 ago now a Friend of mine and his Fiancee broke up. It was a break up I saw coming for awhile. But I took no sides.

Shortly after that his birthday happened and he kinda went wild. Spent a bunch of money at a strip club. And started seeing that stripper for a Lil bit. But nothing long term happened with them.

It was around this time he started being more and more disrespectful of my feelings and opinions. We had been friends for years. Since early HS.

Over the years I started feeling like our friendship was very weighed in his favor. I would show up whenever he needed to move. But whenever I needed similar help suddenly he was occupied. And some mutual friends of ours had also noticed this over the years. I put up with it because outside of not showing up for the physical help most times. He was always there for me mentally. His house was where I retreated to when my Mother was being abusive etc.

Well shortly after the stripper and him parted ways he started dating one of my exes. I at the time had no idea. They were like 2 or 3 months into the relationship by the time I found out.

Now normally I wouldn't mind. A good portion of my exes I have talked to and made ammends and found mutual good terms with again. Except for this particular ex.

This ex was genuinely a sphyco. She cheated on me with a few co workers when I wouldn't cave to her demands. And mocked me for enjoying a few movies on an emotional level. She was a very bad experience and I had and have no intentions of ever speaking to her again. So when I found out they were dating I had a sort of panick attack.

I explained all the bad stuff she did to me and how I didn't want to see her. Talk to her etc. He brushed me off. And downplayed my issues despite literally having a panick attack on the mic with him. Turns out she also got what I refused to give her from multiple other dudes over the years and at the time had like 4 kids each with a different father.

I flat out told him I wasn't gonna be in support of this relationship. If he continued with it he would lose me as a friend. He must not have taken me seriously because after I broke contact with him as a result a few mutual friends all said he said the same thing "He doesn't talk to me anymore. Idk why. He acts like my gf is a horrible person. It's some stupid childish thing"

Recently I found out they sure enough. Broke up and he is the Father to the 5th kid. And Part of me just knows he will deny the fact that I told him this would happen.

Some of our mutual think I should reach out and establish being friends again. But part of me doesn't really want to.

As the title is asked. I've been enjoying my run so far. Pree solid story. But I've noticed alot of eother bad RNG or just AI blatantly cheating.

For example I'll use the binoculars and the game tell me the Monster is prone to using Technical moves. So I use Power moves. Only for the Monster to just Spam Speed moves over and over without a single Technical move in sight.

Another example is Monster's spamming skills while in Kinship mode. They haven't used a single skill all fight. And now I'm in Kinship mode and suddenly they have 6 fire breaths, 2 poison clouds and a defense buff skill they wanna use.

Tournaments aren't any better either. Im forced into limited predetermined item sets. But then the enemy Riders just spam potions non stop. Like they just seem to have an infinite amount of healing.

Gave my Ratha poison immunity. And now monsters with poison attacks only Target me. And the only time they hit Ratha with poison is when im in Kinship mode with him.

Meanwhile. My Monsties are absolute idiots. Constantly Running speed attacks into Technical monsters. Etc. I have to force them to use a different move sometimes by using a skill because I know they running headfirst into half health if I don't.

Please tell me I'm not crazy.

MH stories was on sale recently on PSN. So I got a Bundle for 1 and 2 and started playing them. I like them for the most part.

My main question is, is this its own universe? Cause the way they talk about Hunters shunning Riders seems rather inconsistent. The Kamura Hunters don't make bonds sure but they are effectively Riders as well. And the Hunters in Wilds definitely made bonds with Seikrets. So what gives? Why is this game making it seem like Riders are seen as oddballs when the Hunters they supposedly avoid also make bonds and ride monsters?

I started playing LBG and am enjoying it so far, really like that some ammo types have a burst fire mode.

My main concern however is I know ranged weapons have a defense penalty. And I find the LBG dodge is inconsistent and im worried I'll start getting one shot soon. By inconsistent I mean sometimes they dive roll just fine and all is good. And other times my character does this lik bunny hop. And it doesn't go very far at all, leaving me just within a pixel of the attacks hit zone. Im unsure if I should be using evade window or evade extender.

Im also unsure if I should be using special ammo boost as that skill made big numbers on hbg.

Id look up a video but most videos assume your at endgame. Wich im not.

I started trying bow. And outside of the very annoying defense penalty im enjoying it. Another main issue im having is the Glowing Weapon.

See I have a visual Stigma. It affects my vision with certain lights. Mainly street lamps. The lights glow brighter or have these strips that break off, making them almost look like man-made stars.

The issue is this has carried over into Rise. When my Bow is Glowing it becomes this bright distraction on my screen and it makes it hard to see/predict what's happening next under certain conditions. So far I've been managing but If there is a way to shut this damn thing off or minimize it so im not crippled while playing would be amazing.

Im on Ps4.

Arena challenges aren't properly balanced in this game. And I don't mean in the sense of oh they are unfair because xyz monster is too hard.

I mean it in the sense that Monsters do not behave in a way I would naturally expect them to behave. And it's ridiculous. You can have 2 Monsters that are said to be rivals by lore and have been observed in lore as being at each other's throats constantly. But put them in the Arena and they just completely forget about that rivalry and will hyper fixate on you. And if you observe from above they for the most part ignore each other.

Wyvern riding also got really nerfed in Arena challenges. Im not saying its a bad thing per see as it is to easy to initiate it anywhere else and does even impede you. But its like a full 180 in the Arena. It almost never happens.

I understand they weren't meant to be made easy. They are supposed to be challenging. But there is a difference between fighting two rival monsters and the chaos of them being at each other's throats. Vs 2 Monsters ignoring pre established lore and just trying to kill you and only you and ignore each other completely.

Its a miracle they allowed the Monsters to even hurt each other.

So yea. Anyone nee to this game just be aware Arenas are not a fun time.

I have jumped o to Greatsword a few times here and there. So I understand the basics of the combos. But I Struggle with what skills to primarily use. And im not sure if its because of some of the Skill changes in Rise or just my playstyle.

In Iceborne I was running an Odogaron Quick Sheath/Critical Draw build. But then someone told me the Frostfang Barioth set was better because it let your greatsword do Hammer stuff, the ran that for a bit but felt dissapointed and drifted away cause I was never able to get my Wyvern Iginitiom upgraded to T12.

I touched it a lil bit again in Rise. But feel lost on what skills to use because obviously a different game. But alot of skills feel nerfed. And by nerfed I mean in the sense that skills arent as flexible in terms of gems. Attack boost and Critical eye are now tier 2 gems instead of Tier 1.

I also dislike the Asthetic of most Weapons in Rise. Like I Love the Datura set (the Pukei pukei weapons). The Rathalos set and the Magnamalo set. And the Bazel set. But outside of that the designs in Rise kinda leave me meh. And thats also playing a role a bit. But I've been told Poison sucks in Rise. So Datura, the one I'm pulled to the most is deemed weak by others I've turned to. Also its hard to fit Poison dps gems into a build alongside atk and crit and quick sheath etc.

Any recommendations or help?

I like to play Trapper when I can. Outside of obvious non trapple monsters, which i have a Bomb load out for.

But I just tried to trap a Nargacuga from a 7 star event Quest and it would not let me trap him. He ignored 2 of my shock traps. And Tripped my Pitfall traps but didn't get trapped, he just walked out like he never got trapped.

I only caught him because he funny enough got stuck in my Palico's Shock Trap.

No he had not tripped a single trap up to that point.
