custom glasspad sharing my thoughts
I got this custom glasspad from redragon and Id like to share my thoughts. First of all the print came out superb and the quality of the print itself is really good. The colors are vibrant and not so washed out like some other custom glasspads.
The surface is balanced and reminds me of the superglide v1 in speed profile. extremely low static friction with medium dynamic friction. its smooth not very textured. the surface is sensitive to skate type. my favorite was pink fox by unusualway sports, its really smooth and quiet. magic ice plus also feels good but its a bit louder. obsidian ultra felt scratchy imo.
the surface also seems to hold onto dust so you need to be careful and give it a good wipe before use. the great thing about this pad is i dont face issues with my arm or fingers sticking to it. however the base comes with rubber dots that you need to apply yourself to the backside. the edges feel bumpy because the glass is raised by the dots. the dots are really good at keeping the pad in place though once theyre applied. i didnt have any issues with the base warping
the price is a major advantage of this pad. for a custom glass mousepad its only $60 before any coupons or sales are applied, right now they have 15% back to school discount and 25% off for students. So if you want entry level glass with a custom design this is a great option.
the size is subjective, it is 30x30cm in size which could be nice for people without a lot of desk space, but if you use low sens you could wish you had more pad area. overall, for the price its a good option especially if youre new to glass and hesitant about dropping 100$+ on other brands

dx5 ii maybe the wrong choice?
hey i was seriously considering the topping dx5 ii as an upgrade to my current fiio k11 but after doing more research i found that there have been frying issues especially with the 4.4mm port which i always use for more volume. that being said i might be looking for an alternative and I waa looking at the fiio k13 r2r instead, does that look like a good option or something else might be better? or are the topping dx5 ii issues overblown? i use an arya organic. kinda just looking for a "one and done" "set it and forget it" purchase that will last a while
budget $300 usa

best full size skates for glass and cloth ?
basically i have always been a fan of full sized skates rather than dots or donuts. i recently got an sp005 and am a huge fan of it but i also like going to cloth for some games. so whats a skate that can easily switch between glass and cloth, and that are super durable ? since full size skates are expensive, wearing them out in a couple weeks every time would drain my wallet

Scroll up/Scroll down as keybinds
The scroll wheel in league is currently a pretty useless feature competitive wise, maybe it could be useful for clicking a thresh latern in a crowd of minions but besides those super niche scenarios its better to have the scroll wheel unbound to avoid accidentally zooming in during a fight
would be nice to have "scroll up" and "scroll down" as actual keybinds, i would probably use them for actives

Can using hanger clips cause mousepads to crease?
Not my picture but I saw this setup, and wanted to replicate it but I cant help but think the hanger clips will create a point of pressure that can cause dents or creases. Does anyone else do this and had that happen to them? not trying to ruin my entire collection at once lol

magic ice plus durability on glass?
has anyone used the new magic ice + skates which are supposed to be more durable and quieter and how are they in general? how have they been holding up? how do they stack up against other skates on glass? ive been using razer atlas and sp005 if it helps

edition xs upgrade want to switch to dynamic drivers
currently ive been using the edition xs with a bass shelf and tamed treble eq , i wanted to know what was the best upgrade in terms of dyanamic drivers, i want something that will last a long time and i dont want to worry about the fragility of planar drives like hair getting stuck or driver crinkle, also i wanted the "bass punch" that dyanmic drivers provide. what would be a good step up from my current edition xs considering my preferences?
i tried the dt 1770 pro mk1 and it sounded really cheap compared to my edition xs, maybe it was a seal issue because of my glasses but the quality and resolution seemed like 1080p compared to 4k on the edition xs (i use a fiio k11). i had to return it.
my budget is probably around 1k max, when i ask ai it recommends the focal clear mg and the meze 109 pro. i dont really want a clear og due to parts being hard to replace.
