AICE Global Perspectives?

This year, I am taking AICE global perspectives (AS level). I’m wondering how the exam works? How many parts, what each part is, how many points each part is worth, and the amount of points needed for each scoring level?

Good or Bad Idea?

My long obsession with lore in everything I read and watch. Every time I read a book or watch a show/movie, im always determined to know everything about everything in it. Every character, backstory, etc, I want to look knowledgeable about the topic and easily be included when people are talking about them. Every casual watch usually turns into an obsession. This applies to me personally because I’ve always had a problem with over obsessing with knowing everything in general.

Good or bad idea?

If good, should I narrow it down to TV shows, books, or movies specifically, or narrow it down even more to focus on one specific show/movie/book. Or keep it broad?

(Shows encompass TV shows, movies, and books) Over time I realized nobody really cared if I knew everything about the show and I started hesitating to start new shows because I didn’t want to get obsessed with something new. After I started caring less about knowing everything about them, I realized it became more enjoyable for me and exclusion from conversations was never an issue. It shows how I overcame my obsession with knowing everything and inclusion

I realized when I was talking about a show with some of my good friends, and one their friends joined in too. They had finished the show, but didnt know that much lore. However, they weren’t excluded. They had a great time talking with us, and their lack of “knowledge” on the show didn’t affect that at all

Chances of Getting into UF? Ivy League Schools?

I’m going into my junior year. Here’s what I’ve done so far and what I’m planning to do. What are my chances of getting into UF or a good college with the things I’ve done. Separately, what are my chances of getting into a good college after adding these things (I’m planning to do):

-> 4.00 unweighted GPA, 4.61 weighted GPA
-> Taken 4 AICE classes
-> Varsity cheerleading
-> 100+ community service hours (not all at one place as a member of key club)
-> Math Club and HOSA (my school may be discontinuing these this year though)
-> 1340 SAT
-> Worked as summer camp counselor for two years over the summer
-> Won Summit (national cheer competition) for outside of school cheer (All-Star Cheer) (I don’t know if this counts for anything though or if I should even add it)
-> This summer, I did a Medical Explorers program with John Hopkins
-> In collegiate, so will be graduating high school with a two year degree in liberal arts.

Planning to (assume what I’ve applied for I get accepted as):
-> Applied for secretary of Red Cross
-> Take 3 more AICE classes to get AICE diploma
-> Applied for varsity cheerleading captain
-> Volunteer at hospital/outpatient care center for at least 6 months (I have to go to an information session before I apply) at least once a week
-> Trying to get at least 1400+ SAT
-> Take AP bio, AP chem, and possibly another AP class

I am trying to do an undergrad in preprofessional biology before going into medical school for anesthesiology (possibly pediatric). How good are my chances before and after doing these things? Any recommendations for other things I can do? (something feasible, not like starting a national non-profit) Is there anything on here I should leave out of my app?

By the way, I am not planning to go to an Ivy League school, I’m just curious about my chances. My goal is to get into UF.

Tips for Reading Questions Well?

I’ve been studying for the SAT math section, and I’ve noticed that around 80% of my errors just come from glossing over something. I don’t notice the unit, or I forget you need to multiply something, etc. No matter how thoroughly I read the question, I always seem to forget something when I put my answer in. Any tips?

Ranking 7 Upper Moons By How Tragic/Hard Their Backstories Are

Starting from bottom to top, with last place being not tragic AT ALL.

Spoilers Ahead, obviously.

Just read the names if you don’t feel like hearing their backstories. My explanation is at the bottom after the rankings.

  1. Hantengu: Literally was just a terrible person. He had absolutely nothing bad happen to him that wasn’t his own fault. He literally stole from and murdered people, while still trying to deflect the blame for his actions. He was married multiple times, but killed his wives and children because he believed he was being “mistreated”. Eventually, he was sentenced to execution, but was saved by Muzan, who said he believed Hantengu was innocent.

  2. Gyokko: Yes, his parents did die, but all that he felt when he saw their mangled corpses was fascination and that’s what started his obsession. Eventually, a child teased him about it, so he KILLED THE CHILD A CRAB POT. When the child’s parents found this, they stabbed him with a fishing spear and left him to die (valid) but he was found and saved by Muzan.

  3. Kaigaku: He killed a lot of people before becoming a demon, but it wasn’t just because he was a terrible person. He let Gyomei’s orphans be killed by extinguishing the wisteria incense to save his own life. After that, he was taken in by Jigoro but became jealous of how he treated him and Zenitsu the same. He became a demon after encountering Kokushibo, as he immediately surrendered and accepted becoming a demon to once again save his own life. Killing the orphans was a terrible thing to do, but at least he had some sort of reason behind it.

  4. Kokushibo: He wasn’t a terrible person like the three above and never did anything extremely bad when he was human, but he became a demon purely out of spite. He grew jealous of Yoriichi and abandoned his own family (the one thing Yoriichi wanted) to become a demon slayer. But he was bitter that he could never be as powerful as his brother. Out of fear of death after unlocking the demon slayer mark and his frustration at his brother’s skill, he became a demon.

  5. Douma: He never had a real child hood, but it wasn’t the most tragic backstory. It was believed he could hear the voice of Gods, and he played along despite being scornful of his parent’s low intelligence. He was apathetic even as a child, and never understood why people came to a child for help. His mother eventually killed his father, before committing suicide. Although this usually would be a tragic event, he felt no pity. At 20, he became a demon. He never had the opportunity for a normal life, but his childhood wasn’t THAT bad until his parents died (and he didn’t even care). He never really did anything bad before becoming a demon though.

  6. Akaza: As a child, Akaza would pickpocket money to be able to afford his sick father’s medicine. He was caught three times, and each time he was beaten and given a tattoo. After the third beating, Akaza came home, only for a villager to inform Akaza that his father hung himself because he wanted Akaza to live a full life. Akaza was banished from Edo, and would pick fights with people. After he killed SEVEN people, he was found by the owner of the Soryu dojo, Keizo. After Keizo beat Akaza in a fight with ease, he took Akaza under his wing and assigned him to nurse his daughter, Koyuki, who was sick. During that time, him and Keizo fought a rival dojo who wanted their land, and they accepted their loss and admitted defeat. Koyuki’s health improved over time, and Akaza accepted Keizo’s offer to take over the dojo and take Koyuki as his bride. Akaza went to visit his father’s grave to tell him the news, only to come back to hear the rival dojo had poisoned the dojo well, killing Keizo and Koyuki. He killed all 67 members of the rival dojo in a rage, which caught Muzan’s attention. With nothing left to live for, he accepted Muzan’s offer to become a demon.

  7. Gyutaro and Daki (focusing on Gyutaro): Honestly, this may be disagreed with by a lot of people, but I think this was the most valid. Gyutaro was a failed abortion, and was constantly beaten by his mother. His mother would even go as far as trying to kill him some points. He was forced to eat insects and mice as he couldn’t afford food. When his sister was born, he protected his sister and assaulted his mother to protect her, leading his mother to become scared of him. She would eventually die from a disease. He got a job, and one day after coming home from work, he found his sister almost dead from people attempting to BURN HER ALIVE, assuming it was out of self defense. (She did attack someone with a hairpin and blinded them, but it was because they insulted Gyutaro). That samurai then slashed Gyutaro in the back to try and kill him. He then killed a the brothel manager (who asked the Samurai to kill Gyutaro) and then the Samurai. Then, on the verge of death, he carried his sister (also on the verge of death) begging for help from someone, but was hit by the cold, hard truth that no one would ever give them aid, no matter where he went. He collapsed from exhaustion, and was then found by Douma who gave them blood.

I know a lot of people people think Akaza has the saddest backstory, but in my opinion, Gyutaro’s is way worse. At least Akaza had a parent who loved him, and he was only beaten three times. His childhood life wasn’t good by any means, but he had his father to live for and lived decently as a pickpocket in that time (excluding the beatings).

Gyutaro on the other hand never had loving parents, never had a good life at all (he had to eat mice and rats), and was constantly beaten (even more than Akaza, but not to that degree.) After Akaza was exiled, he killed seven people just because he was mad. Gyutaro never killed anyone without a valid reason (that being his sister almost being BURNED ALIVE) and never had a happy period in his life.

At least Akaza had that time with Keizo and Koyuki before they were killed. He had a few years where he was truly happy with his life, unlike Gyutaro. Akaza became a demon because he had nothing to live for, while Gyutaro and his sister became demons because they were on the verge of death and no one would even help them. They were just children.

But that’s just my opinion. I really wanna hear someone else’s.

(BTW sorry about using their demon names in their backstory, I didn’t notice until afterwards.)

My Dad Is Ruining My Future Over a Fucking Flu Shot

My Dad Is Ruining My Future Over a Fucking Flu Shot

Recently, I’ve finally gotten the opportunity to volunteer at a hospital. I’ve been looking for an opportunity like this for two years.

However, my dad is refusing to let me get a fucking flu shot that is required for the volunteering because he’s one of those crazy fucking people who believes vaccines cause cancer and what not.

This is one of my biggest chances to make my college application stand out. But if he doesn’t let me get the flu shot required for it, I won’t be able to volunteer. Obviously I can’t just get it anyways because I’m under legal age.

I don’t know what to do. He refuses to change his mind no matter what and is stuck on this stupid fucking mindset because of fucking tik tok videos.

Talking to him doesn’t change anything. I’ve tried for years. He believes a vaccine is the reason his sister died from cancer and nothing will change that. I don’t want to throw away my future like this because of him. I don’t believe in any of this anti-vaccine stuff, but that doesn’t matter.

This also affects all opportunities I get to work/volunteer/observe/shadow at hospitals.

What do I do? I dont know what I should do at this point.

Edit: I checked my vaccination laws, and you must be 18 where I am at to get a vaccination without consent of a guardian.

Did Akaza Save Demon Slayer?

SPOILERS AHEAD!! (Obviously)

So we all know Akaza killed himself during the Infinity Castle Arc after regaining his memories. But didn’t this technically save all of Demon Slayer?

After Akaza killed himself, Tanjiro and Giyuu both collapse from exhaustion. But if Akaza regenerated his head and continue fighting, they’d have no way to kill him and most likely be unable to continue fighting for long. So they’d most likely die.

Even if we say Akaza didn’t go on to kill more Demon Slayers after killing Tanjiro and Giyuu, the Demon Slayers still would’ve lost (most likely). Tanjiro was absolutely essential in the Sunrise Countdown arc, and without them, Muzan most likely would’ve killed everyone trying to stop him.

In that case, he would still be alive, he could make new upper moons, and all of the Hashira would be dead.

And if Akaza did go on to fight more demon slayers in this case (which he most likely would) it would be even more likely that the demon slayers lose to Muzan in this scenario.

So if Akaza didn’t kill himself, Muzan would’ve won.

I may be wrong though, so correct me if I’m forgetting anything and I want to hear other people’s thoughts!

Good Translator?

I need a translator for Spanish. I’ve tried Google Translate, and if there is a slight pause in a conversation it stops recording completely. I’ve tried Deep L, and it only lets you record a few clips a day.

I’m looking for a translator that translates until you pause it, requires no subscription, and has unlimited uses. It can be an app or a website.

I was bored, so I rewrote Back To Friends by Sombr but it’s about a lying friend instead of an ex.

Say those same old lines
Cause your pleading makes me weak
Text me at midnight
I see how fake you are when youre looking at me

How can we go back to being friends
After the things you said
How can you look at me and pretend
You’re the one who’s innocent

It was last December
You were hanging out with me
I still remember
I was happy back then
Didn’t want it to be like this

How can we go back to being friends
After the things you said
How can you look at me and pretend
You’re the one who’s innocent

The devil in your eyes
Won’t deny your lies
You’ve gone, I want to go back to those nights
While you whisper, this is so fucking old

How can we go back to being friends
After the things you said
How can you look at me and pretend
You’re the one who’s innocent

How can we go back to being friends
After the things you said
