It's a shame we never got a new gen albinauric NPC.

The other albinaurics get at least some representation in the story through Albus, Latenna and Gaius- but this particular odd frog person gen is just left as a weird relic we don't get much inclination on. Maybe there's some lore about how they can't speak, but if that's the case I'd have said that they just shouldn't have written that bit of lore in the first place so that we could have a dialogue with an npc from this gen. Similarly it feels like a shame that we never got to meet a hornsent that wasn't a representation of the worst of their society- even if that was probably a majority of the population.

To be clear, yes I am saying it's a flaw of the game that the weird frog people never get to talk to us. Alex Garland you BETTER make the protagonist of the Elden Ring movie a new gen albinauric with more lines than any other character in the film.

What's you're favorite utility spell?

Art by Herheim on Artstation

https://www.artstation.com/artwork/wJ9n3V

"Utility" spell means any spell that doesn't deal damage to enemies directly or indirectly nor buffs your damage output in any way- or at least, that's not the primary use case you have for it.

My personal favorite is bestial vitality, as an example. It doesn't do enough healing to be especially useful in active fights, but it's very nice to have a long lasting source of passive healing while exploring- since the flask refill mechanic can be so iffy.

Are there any utilities that you wish a spell covered that don't exist in the game? Let me know about that too! I kind of wish there was a spell that just did the effect of unseen form and assassin's gambit at the same time to make stealth more convenient, for example

Why did Mohg keep doing all the murder torture stuff after Miquella charmed him?

The question came to me after hearing someone suggest that Mohg was more chill before Miquella charmed him, because it seemed wildly out of character for Miquella to *turn* Mohg into a murder blood fanatic.

But then the question crossed my mind... Why does Miquella let him act like that even AFTER charming him?

For whatever complaints you have of Miquella, it's clear that he ABHORS violence and pain, particularly where it's unnecessary- and I don't think he would just allow Mohg to keep doing the same "violence and pain" routine if he could put a stop to it.

Maybe his charm just only allows him to alter a person's self to a certain extent, and Mohg was so enchanted by blood and violence that he couldn't completely remove that from him.

Or, maybe, the formless mother is fucking with his charm to an extent that allows the cult to continue running.

Or maybe even Miquella let's it continue because it acted as a good cover for where he actually was- and if people noticed that Mohg stopped doing his thing, they'd investigate and end up finding him- putting a premature stop to his plans, thus even though he abhorred the violence he viewed it as necessary for his plan to come to fruition.

I don't know though, it's a weird tidbit that came to my mind and it's interesting to think on. An area where Elden Rings abstraction kind of works against it imo. Don't show, don't tell, just leave the faintest hint of some bullshit and let the viewer figure it out.

Projection Sorcery through the ages

gege once mentioned that projection sorcery first really started to take shape with Naobito and the invention of the camera.

This idea is really fascinating to me, that a sorcerors understanding of their technique might so drastically improve with the advancement of standard civilian technology. So I wanted to make a timeline chart of the potential adaptations and changes that projection sorcery underwent throughout the ages it existed in- starting with the Pre-Camera days, then looking at how Naobito and Naoyas differ from one another, then looking at the potential way it would change with sorcerors in the future.

Looking back it was insane for Gojo to let Yuji into an unknown domain at this point

It's just early jjk/season 1 things where Gege didn't fully appreciate the danger of the thing he'd created at the time

But in hindsight knowing how many "fuck you you instantly die" domains there are this was WILD. Do the words Sure hit Instant kill not register to you????

Gojo wtf were you gonna do to protect him if this was a "Instantly turns your organs into rocks" domain? How tf were you gonna protect Yuji if this was some Malevolent Shrine type bullshit

Going by the letter of Coffin of the Iron mountain it's a miracle Yuji didn't immediately die right here, considering that most sorcerors would be burned to ash upon entering. Gojo you can't be doing this shit man this is like having a chemistry student try random concoctions you made up to teach them about poison

It's telling that Jujutsu Society (presumably) let mechamaru use minimum cursed energy for his robot to participate in the CE test but didn't let Maki have a disability aid or smth for the CE test.

Rigged against people without cursed energy and Maki specifically cause of Zenin fuckery.

Honestly these class rankings are some of the best subtle storytelling we get about JJK I kinda wanna make a whole post about everything in them

Low-Grade Sorcerors: Zhu Bajie (Pigsy)

Additional information about Bajie:

He was given away as a child to foster parents, as his mother (whom he's never known) was too scared of herself to properly raise him.

As a child he was often underfed by his foster parents, a pair of curse users that needed a child as a means for their front as a standard nuclear family while they secretly carried out assassinations and tortures for anyone that would hire them. They gave him the name Pigsy after seeing his ferocious appetite- and he never learned what his original name was (if he ever had one)

When his technique developed at 13, Pigsy ate a piece of rebar and bludgeoned his foster parents to death. Pigsy went on to work for various gangs in China for the next seven years of his life- acting as a rather amoral curse user.

At some point he was sent to assassinate a member of Jujutsu High (no one that we would know) but failed to do so. The sorceror saw the value in Pigsy's technique and offered them a job for Jujutsu Society or summary execution.

Pigsy chose the former.

There he attended Jujutsu High (the oldest person in each year of his classes) and learned the fundamentals of sorcerory and executing cursed spirits. He also learned about binding vows, and used them liberally to make his technique easier to use.

He earned the Grade 2 rank after singlehandedly defeating 6 grade 3 curses at once in a mission that nearly killed him. He then stagnated, and now operates as a solid but not outstanding sorceror in and around Yokohama.

In theory, he could be a grade 1 sorceror if he was provided with pieces of cursed tools to injest- but because of his past he is discriminated against by Jujutsu society, and they are unwilling to lend these to him.

He has tendencies of a functional sociopath, largely thanks to his upbringing- but he is not malicious nor sadistic, he merely has been taught to do what is best for himself. For the time being, this means keeping a steady job as a Sorceror.

This is part of what I want to make a short series of Lower grade sorceror OCs. I find the idea of these solid but not outstanding sorcerors very interesting- the average people that don't really get focused on in the main story but just operate throughout their lives in the background. People for whom beating a Semi-Grade 1 curse would be a monumental undertaking. These kinds of characters I think speak to the real horror of JJKs world and the job of a sorceror, and I'd really like to explore these ideas and their place in Jujutsu society with this series.

Why didn't Yuji kill himself?

He said that he was trying to just die already so why didn't he fucking kill himself with his universal scaling Soul Dismantle? Did gege forget that suicide was a thing when he wrote this scene

The real reason Naobito made the Megumi clan head clause

I've seen a few explanations for why Naobito might have decided to include that clause in the will where Megumi can become clan head if Gojo dies. It wasn't part of Toji's deal with Naobito- that was just to get Megumi accepted into the clan for cash. So why let this rando 10S user potentially become head of the clan?

My reading (which requires a little headcanon and interpretation) is that he knew Naoya could only be trusted to a certain extent.

Naobito almost definitely loved Naoya as his son- but he wasn't a complete dumbass. He probably knew that his kid was a bit of a dipshit. (He MIGHT have known he was a full on rapist, although I think he was probably willfully ignorant to that side of him) After all, he did still make sure that Naoya needed his siblings permission to use the clans resources.

But it was fine if his kid wasn't the best at clan politics or whatever, because he'd inevitably be kept in check from doing anything too crazy by the other clans.

That was unless Gojo was taken out of the picture, of course. Then Naoya might just feel free to run rampant and do anything he wants with the clan and run it into the ground. Naobito, presumably, wouldn't want that. Gojo being incapacitated would also probably imply some greater threat in the Jujutsu world that Naoya probably isn't equipped to lead the clan through. And so, if Gojo was no longer around to keep the power balance in check- then he would have an emergency plan. Instste someone else as clan head.

That of course leads to the biggest question: Why Megumi?

There's a few potential reasons. Most obviously is that he inherited the 10S technique- highly prized in the Zenin. But there's more to it I believe.

Naobito, uniquely, didn't seem to have any particular problem with the Heavenly Restricted members of the clan. He had a semi-working relationship with Toji after he left the Zenin, and while he did hold Maki back in jujutsu society this is implied to be less out of spite and more as a (still kind of shitty) true test for her to push her to get as strong as possible- stronger than would be strictly necessary to be recognized as a great sorceror.

And so, with this soft spot for Toji, he might have felt bad for him and his kid and had Megumi in his mind once Toji passed. Then Megumi gets picked up by Gojo. Naobito probably understood that Megumi would get good training with him and the resources that clan could provide- and that might lead to him having a decent head on his shoulders. Hell they might have even met once to confirm this initial impression, when Megumi was younger and had only just started developing his technique.

And so, with all this in mind, Naobito decides that Megumi could have the potential to at least semi-decently lead the clan in a time of crisis and has enough behind him to get the respect needed to hold onto the title of clan head.

Also- and this bit is very important- I'm sure he knew how much this would piss off his brothers. Both of them get passed up for clan head, and some outsider with the 10S- the child of Toji, Jinichi's disgraced brother who also has the same Jujutsu disorder that Ogi's kid has- gets the spot instead? It seems in character for Naobito to find that funny enough to write the clause just for that reason.

Small detail I really like: Maki is the only one who has to cover her ears here because HR gives her better hearing.

Mod that let's grab attacks (ex. Lifesteal fist) work on all enemies and bosses?

Does anything like this exist?

Ideally it would work so that it only functions on enemies that are stancebroken, but I'm CERTAIN no mod like that exists so I'm looking for the next best thing.

Does Mahoraga have a penis?

Mahoraga has a dude chest but wears a skirt (like a girl) which implies a need for modesty. Does they them have a penis? And if so, does the penis adapt to phenomena? Like if you hurt Mahoragas penis would it adapt to have a vagenius and then adapt to solve period cramps? I'm really really really really really interested in the answer to that s question. Please get back to me.
