Don't Give Up! Just hit 500 Spotify Followers

We've been at it for just over a year with a new music project, and finally hit 500 followers on Spotify. Our top playlists are Discover Weekly and Spotify Radio. Listens at 4.0 per listener over the past 12 months. Current Monthly listeners 1100+ (It was 2400 at one point)

At the beginning we were sure we'd explode with songs that are undeniably fun and a visual that pulls every eye in public. But really it's been incremental growth over time. Local Media, our band, is built brick-by-brick, person by person. And we estimate that for 1,000 views on a video, we can expect 1 new listener/subscriber/ follower.

Our music is recorded at a very high quality with great gear and mixed by a legend. But let me tell ya. We've posted 821 videos to Youtube, and have 930 Subscribers. We've spent $500+ on IG marketing ( $0.13 per click), and crossed over 3k follower on IG (most of which that don't engage), then steadily lost followers and gained some new loyal fans.

We've tried Submit Hub, Playlist Push, Spotify Campaigns all with some small success, but mostly those sites don't really build an audience.

We've been posting on reddit with videos taken down by moderators, been downvoted into oblivion, and there's one person so pissed that they routinely downvote every comment and every post that we make (gotta admire the dedication. We just be doing something right).

So... just want to share that IT'S HARD. It's a grind. It's a marathon. It's famously one of the hardest business on earth to crack. But one thing rings true: Make a good product that speaks to YOU, and it will speak to someone else. Statues are created one dink of the hammer at a time. Create with the intention of having fun, then edit with the scrutiny of Michelangelo creating the statue of David.

We're not gonna stop till the world knows Local Media. We've been compared to Silk Sonic, Bruno Mars, MF Doom, etc, and been recorded in public a hundred times by people we've never met. And by god it's been so much fun.

Just wanted to share this small milestone in our Tv headed journey.

Keep going. One dance step at a time πŸ•ΊπŸ»πŸ€˜πŸ“Ί
