On this day and time, Shinji Aoba started his massacre in Kyoto Animation Studio 1, killing 36 (including Yasuhiro Takemoto, Director of most of Lucky Star).

On July 18th, 2019, 10:31 AM JST (1:31 AM UST), Shinji Aoba started his massacre by setting Studio 1 on fire, with smoke and fire filling the second and third floors of the building within 30 seconds. He then went on to pour gasoline on people, accidentally setting himself on fire in the process.

Many important people in Kyoto Animation died, which includes Yoshiji Kigami,Futoshi Nishiya, Naomi Ishida, and Yasuhiro Takemoto, who directed episodes 5-24 of Lucky Star, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and many others.

The perpetrator of this massacre is to be executed on an unknown date, as Japan's death row informs prisoners around 1-2 hours before they are set to executed.

Rest in Peace Yasuhiro Takemoto
