Jordan 4 wall

I recently bought a 3D printer and printed these wall mounts for shoes. I’m using “Alien Tape” to mount them on the wall cause I wasn’t about to make 50 holes in the wall. Seems to be holding up fine so far.

FYI: I’m not showing off the shoes so much as I’m showing off the “display wall”. Most of these were purchased in the last 4 years. I have a few 5s, 6s, and 13s as well, but as you can tell, 4s are my favorite.

Venting question

I printed a cover that goes over the poop chute and the holes to the right of the chute. On the back it has a 4” diameter opening which I have a dryer vent hose connected to, venting out the window. In between the printer and the window I have a fan also, so it’s extracting from inside the printer to outside the window.

My question is, is that enough ventilation for printing the more toxic materials?

I will admit I printed everything before I saw the sticker on the back that says to remove for venting.

Im going to stop using DoorDash

I know I’m just one person and I won’t make a difference for others, but I stand by my choice to stop using door dash.

If I order food I want it delivered asap. I don’t want the driver completing 3 other orders while mine sits in their nasty ass cigarette smoke filled car. By the time my food gets to me it’s cold and gross.

Honestly it’s my fault and I can’t blame it on anyone else. The only thing I can do it just stop using them and go get it myself or order from the restaurant themselves.

Hc2 after just 1 week has me.. underwhelmed

I’m not very happy with the h2c.

I started with a p2s and quickly wanted a second printer, so I figured why not go for the big unit and be done! I order the h2c and anxiously wait for it to arrive. Apparently I’m very close to their warehouse cause I received my printer just 2 days after ordering. Sweet!

First print I did was the panda that comes preloaded on there and it came out great. The second print I did was a kaws figure for my kid but there was a problem with the right shoe. For some reason, after attempting three different times and with different color filament, it kept messing up on the same spot. I gave up. I set that to print on my p2s and it came out flawless. Ton of poop cause it was multicolor print but whatever. It worked.

Successful prints have been very random. I’d say out of 15 prints with it, I’ve had 5 go bad. Whether it’s spaghetti, or adhesion issues, I’ve done the same prints on the p2s and it just does it. No problems.

I’ve cleaned the print plate more on the h2c than the p2s. The only thing I haven’t done, is attempt to dry the filament. But I don’t think that’s the issue anyway
cause I use the same filament in my p2s and it works.

I don’t know. It just hasn’t made me feel like the money I spent on it was worth the faster prints with less poop.

EDIT: I tried to print a multicolor Bulbasaur and i had issues. The front left foot/paw wasn’t sticking. Tried it twice, same issue both times. I noticed when I try to scale things up or down, it tends to mess up. For example, this bulbasaur, the two prints that failed, the only thing I did was scale it up 50%. When I tried again without scaling it up, it seems to be printing fine. I also moved it over on the print plate… not sure if that matters.

Ventilation

I bought a p2s three weeks ago and now I own that, an h2c and an h2s. They are all in one room I use as a “man cave”. I have an air purifier and I’m mostly only printing with PLA. Eventually, naturally, I’ll want to print with other materials. I have this room, my “man cave” and I also have a “sun room”, lots of windows but also lots of sun light.

If you were in my shoes, would you feel okay with 3 printers running at once, while in the room, with a ceiling fan on, open door, and one air purifier? Should I move them into the sunroom with more windows? The sun room has a door leading into the house and a door leading outside as well. Feel like I needed to mention that too.

What do you all think about this set-up?

What do you all think about this set-up? Should I put them on separate shelves? I took a video of them in action but, I can’t post it for some reason (I’m on mobile?) they shake a little bit but, these are my first prints with them on the same shelf so I guess we will see quality here soon.

Importance of stability

How important is it to have a stable base(table) to put the printer on? I have metal shelves from Lowe’s and I have an h2c. I did the calibration while on the shelf so I’m assuming it should be good. But I don’t know.. it kinda moves… a lot…

Which printer should I buy?

The flair says my first but this won’t actually be my first… kind of…

As of a week ago I got a p2s and I’ve become obsessed. It been printing non stop. I have a kid, and I’m also a (big) kid. So it’s been going.

I want to buy a second printer for larger things that take 15+ hours, and use my p2s to print smaller, less time consuming things as well.

I was looking at the h2s and the h2c, but since I’m still new to this I still don’t know which one to get. Should I skip the h2s and go for the h2c?

I don’t think I will ever buy and use the laser feature that can be used in the h2c. I just want to print cool detailed pieces.

Guest user issues

I was showing my AVP to my daughter and, it wouldn’t let her use it as a quest unless she put my passcode in, which is fine, but then it didn’t ask her to do the eye tracking where it makes you look at the dots and tap your fingers, so it was hard for her to use it as intended. When she first put it on, it asked her to press the Digital Crown for guest use and then it said that it sent a request to my phone for me to give permission but I never got that. I opened the AVP app on my phone and nothing. I remember when I let my sister use it, it made her do the eye tracking and i could watch what she was doing on my phone, so I was able to guid her better.

What am I doing wrong?

Where’s my clock?

I was on the couch (where I usually sit and play with my Vision Pro) putting my shoes on to head out the door. In my Vision Pro, I have on the wall to the left of that couch, a widget of a clock.. so I’m sitting there putting my socks and shoes on when I look to the left to see what time it was and when I don’t see my clock anymore I was so confused for just a slight second.. long enough to feel embarrassed.

I thought you all might get a laugh out of that 😂

Immersive gaming

I know it’s only 2 years old but can we expect an increase in games like first person shooters? I feel like there should be way more games like “Spatial Ops” out.

Golf is a great idea for an immersive game. Baseball too. I mean all sorts of sports could be immersive games.

What sorts of games would you all like to see for the AVP?

Immersive app for walking

On a treadmill obviously lol. Are there any apps where you can use while walking that feels like you’re walking through a forest or on a beach or something?

Just bought an AVP

Bought it yesterday. The guys at the Apple Store were super nice. At least 5 of them came up to me and said congratulations, which I found a little bit strange after the 4th employee came to me and said it. I was surrounded by them at one point lol. One of them even told me “Welcome to the future man” I was like oh damn! What am I buying here? I haven’t really done much research on them cause I never thought I’d buy one but, an opportunity came and so I ended up with one.

Man when I got home and used it for the first time I was amazed. I was in awe. I’ve never used VR headsets before this one so I really wasn’t ready for it.

I don’t know if I’ll use it for anything productive though. That’s what initially prevented me from getting one. I guess I’ll just play games and watch movies on it.

What are you guys and gals using your AVP for? What are some must have apps? Where y’all equally as in shock as I was the first time?
