Pretending to like a someone just for s*x is creepy.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve experienced this. I feel this is an incredibly normalized experience most of us have had this happen at least once. But now that I’m an adult I realize how seriously messed up it is. Been talking to this guy from a dating app and pretty quickly off the bat I made it clear, “I’m not really looking for a hook up, if you are that’s completely fine just tell me”. I do this often and guys usually seem taken aback by it so early on. But I like to put it out there because it happens EVERY time. Well this guy was pretty insistent on hanging out. So I kind of thought it was a red flag.(but I also don’t want to assume every guy is like this and want to give a fair chance) Well, he reassured me while he obviously finds be attractive he really just wants to take me out and get to know me and see what happens. I love that! I like casual. Guys often assume that because I don’t want to sleep with them 30 seconds after meeting them that I’m waiting until we are happily married and expect a ring by next week lol. No, just give it a little time. Well few days later I’m in bed casually say how I couldn’t sleep. BAM. He sends me a pic.

It’s just disappointing because I really want to give people the benefit of the doubt but this happens EVERY time. I know this happens to a lot of people. But 1. I have NOTHING wrong with just wanting someone for sex!!!! Completely fine, just be honest! I can’t imagine knowingly leading someone on, especially someone who said how they arnt ready yet, and the entire date just plotting how to get in their pants. When I was young I accepted this as the norm as an adult I find it genuinely creepy. If you decide to casually start conversations with girls knowing your real intent is to get in their pants please just tell them. It’s the nice thing to do.

I hope this is allowed. I’ve just wanted to express this but other places have not responded well to this post…. I’m not sure why or what I’m doing wrong. If not allowed please just help me understand why..

Can someone make me a list of where to start when packing?

So this is my first adult move on my own. And I have TERRIBLE adhd. Very excited to move into my new apartment in two days. I’ve have done NOTHING to prepare. I feel like I’ve been preparing and going through stuff for weeks but on paper, I have not actually accomplished a single task… I do really well with lists (however I’m not always great about going in order and following it) should I do 1. Throw stuff away 2. Start packing valubles 3. I need to buy new furniture and get rid of my old….

Every time I start to throw stuff away I find new things and it distracts me. I should clean up more before I pack but who knows how long that’ll take plus it’s just more to do. I need to make sure I separate my piles of boxes so I don’t mix them up.

Ughhh any advice is appreciated. I’m honestly excited to pack up and throw stuff away but it’s so hard for me to actually do it for some reason. Every little task I turn into a chore. I was going to play music even just to get me started and took 15 minutes to choose a song, then somehow started looking up the artists and reading up on their lives before I caught myself. This is impossible.

Common glitches during challenges???

There seems to be a lot more glitches than normal. I feel like I have at least one per challenge. I don’t think it’s just me I’ve seen several people struggling with the same ones.

  1. Dog in the orca costume in Fist Day jitters.(dog, collar, ball, and costume not working no matter where I place the dog)
  2. Last piece of Earth chandelier in Quiet halls. (Not showing up in classroom)
  3. Book not principals office in Quiet halls. (Removed everything from desk. It’s not there.)

Just a few examples. I think the problem is the game because everyone is having the same troubles on the same ones

What do you think is the Beck and Jade origin story?

I’ve always wished we had an episode where we could learn how everyone in the group became friends. But more specifically Beck and Jade. They’re obviously a rollercoaster of a relationship. How did it all start? When did they get together? How did they meet? Who made the first move? Because if you really think about it, neither seems like the relationship type. And neither seem like the type to actively per-sue or reciprocate feelings for someone else.
I’d assume Beck made the first move. Just because I definitely can’t picture Jade doing it. Beck simply allows and expects female attention because he’s used to it. I know that’s why he’s drawn to Jade because she’s different. But it’s hard for me to imagine him going out of his way to get jade to like him. And even more surprising is that Jade would like him back… shes not the type to give in to good looks. I feel like he would have to REALLY charm her for a long time. How would you write the Bade origin story?????? Here’s possible scenarios

  1. Beck notices Jade at school one day and presents her with a bouquet of scissors causing Jade to fall madly in love.
  2. Jade thinks Beck is hot, walks up to him and simply declares he’s her boyfriend now. And Beck rolls with it.
  3. Some insane situation happens to bring them together and they immediately hit it off.
  4. they’ve been a cute little toxic goth couple since pre k.

AITA if I secretly place cameras in grandmas house?

AITA if I install a hidden camera in grandmas house without telling her or my family? Just in her living room.
My grandma (90F) current lives alone 2 hours away from my family and I. My grandfather passed a year and a half ago and it’s been hard for her to adapt to living alone. She gets around very well for her age but unfortunately struggles with mental health issues and has for most of her life. She can be very paranoid and prone to jealousy/outbursts. And manipulation. (Undiagnosed but I’ve always believed she and some of her kids share similar traits to bipolar)

I’m currently driving two hours every weekend to go see her. And it’s very hard with work and also extremely mentally draining for me. But my parents, aunts, and uncles have almost given up. She refuses to go to a nursing home or come live closer to us. (completely understandable.) However she isn’t willing to make any accommodations. She is constantly guilt tripping her kids into visiting then lashes out, argues, or ridicules them when they finally do. Im usually very patient with her and part of why we get along so well is she knows I don’t give a reaction. As for the cameras. They would give me piece of mind. Just to know she’s ok. I’d only put one in her living room. She would go INSANE if she found out. Shed blame her kids. She’d accuse them of stealing or spying etc… and my family knows this so I know they’d never agree to it. I hate to violate her autonomy or my family’s wishes. But I need this for me. If I dare say I can’t take her shopping or stay the night she pulls the one card she knows I can’t deny. “Okay I guess I’ll just try to drive myself then.” (She technically can drive but she doesn’t like to and I get scared for her to) or she goes “oh I understand, you’re too busy for me, just know I love you” or when it’s REALLY bad. “You’d all be better off without me”

Now before you judge my family too harshly…My grandmother is a very complex woman to say the least. I’ve tried to blame a lot of it on her age/dementia but I’m learning much of this is sadly who she’s been her entire life. I’ve always had a great relationship with her but I’m finding out she has been very different to me as a grandmother than she was to her kids as a mother. She’s not on good terms with anybody other than me currently. My father has been the best out of his siblings but he’s fed up. I’ll give him credit tho-he’s tried.

It’s extremely complicated and there’s so much more to the story. I’m able to see everyone’s pov. But you’ll just have to take my word for it. Is not all age related. I know she’s still mourning grandpa. I know she’s lonely and we need to visit more. But currently I’m the only one in this family putting in any effort and therefore I feel I get the final say. It will be fine as long as nobody finds out.

****EDIT!!!!!!!!!! Didn’t expect this to get the response it did. Was very emotional while typing this and left out a lot I meant to say.

While typing all this got an upsetting text from grandma. Tried to explain to her I had an appointment this weekend and wasn’t sure I could make it up and she responded. “I understand. I don’t think I’ll live much longer anyways. I understand you have better things to do. I want you all to live your lives. Thank you for everything. I love you”

^^ this is the stuff that upsets me and what happened to prompt me to make this post in the beginning because I KNEW I’d get a response like that. I don’t care about the yelling or comments on my appearance Like the others do. But THIS is the stuff that bothers me. I know it’s going to be me that finds her eventually and I just don’t feel prepared for that day to come. I’d like to know if she’s acting different before hand so I can go be there just in case. I’ll never forgive myself if it happens the weekend I say I can’t come.

I think I love my mom too much.

I was blessed with an incredible relationship with my parents. My mom is my best friend. My comfort. Everything. It has led to a crippling fear of losing her/ her losing me. For a long time she really helped me with my anxiety over this and honestly I’ve been doing better about it and I think the key is giving each other some space and working on myself a bit. My mom loves this and is happy for me.
Well she’s recently retired and I think I’m seeing the roles reverse a bit. She 100% respects my space and never wants to intrude but she calls everyday and expects me to come over every day. When I tell her I think I’m gonna stay home today she immediately respects it but I feel this gut wrenching guilt and anxiety after we hang up. I know she’s not mad but I still feel sad. I then start to feel like I’m being ungrateful and worry I’ll regret it if something happens. I think about one of us developing illness and having to count the days. We may go up to 3 days max without seeing eachother before but now if I miss a single day she calls. Just feeling emotional and life feels very fragile. You just never know what can happen and struggling to cope with that today.
