Thank you scam professors

Posted an item on offer up for the first time. After a few minutes I got a buyer, and then an additional email saying their payment was being verified and I needed to click the provided link to provide info to receive payment.

After reading cautions about links here so many times, I didn't click and avoided a scam. Then I read stuff on offer up saying they never asked for such info in an email.

Thank you.

Part of parakeet households: vacuuming

Since my parakeets came to live with me I vacuum the floor around their cage twice a day. (They are so worth the effort). Even with a seed catcher.

How about you?

What's going on with the no shows?

I've had a few in the past but the last few weeks I've had a bunch of them. Is it a new entertainment for the mindless?

First aid for newly purchased vintage chairs

Wood armchairs, there is some wearing and scratching. I would like to avoid stripping and restaining, I have heard that cleaning and fine steel wool are good steps, anything else?

What do you think, staples or tacks?

I recently bought old vintage cane back armchairs. I hate the fabric and it is stained in a few spots. I would like to avoid taking the entire chair apart, to recover the seat cushions, I want to get one of those stretch cushion covers. Once in place should I anchor them with staples or tacks?

Just purchased vintage armchair

Old fabric stained and doesn't look good. Can I staple new fabric on this chair seat over the old fabric without removing the attached cushion?

Paint

I am considering painting my cane backed armchairs. I believe the cane is plastic, can it be painted?

As for the rest of the chair I assume sanding painting and priming?

Cage Liners

The Bokyan company at Walmart is having a sale on their incontinence pads for people. As long as you have them where the birds can't nibble them at all they make awesome cage liners. I cut each pad in half and it fits exactly.

Overhead lights?

Due to the upstairs apartment overhang in front, the living room windows don't have a lot of light. I was thinking of a floor lamp that would create light above their cages. Has anyone done this?

Take your Prime Days and shove them

Late deliveries. Several misdeliveries in a row. A toaster oven that arrived dirty and with dried food on it.

Amazon, take your Prime Days and shove them, who needs any more grief from you.

Edited to add: The Minions seem to be out in force today, trying to persuade people to spend.

Ever notice that when an Amazon customer posts a valid complaint here, there are a group of minions, often the same ones, who will disparage, gaslight and devalue what the OP says and then say that Amazon had every right to fuck the OP over? I'm wondering whether there are Amazon employees paid to do this.

Take your Prime Days and shove them

I don't need your grief no more

You say that you deliver fast

But there's no products at my door

You advertise good quality

But they're used and dirty and tore

So take your Prime Days and shove them

I don't need your grief no more.

Well I got me some cute little nighties

To make my honey roar

You misdelivered them with my name

To the local Monsignore

All I want is the service you promised

But you ain't doing that no more

So take your Prime days and shove them

I don't need your grief no more.

BetterBusinessBureau for the win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My package, ordinary items sold by Amazon, was weeks late. Every day I'd look and Amazon would say the shipment was delayed but would not say why and would not allow me to cancel my order.

Finally, not knowing if I was ever going to receive my items, I went to the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint. This took about two minutes and it is free. This was a couple days ago. All of a sudden I get a message from Amazon that my items would be delivered today. And they were (delivered to the wrong apartment but the person in that apartment brought the package to me).

IDK what is going on with Amazon, with the late shipments and misdeliveries (this was the second misdelivery in a row, and the apartments all have numbers on the doors), and lack of communication; not very customer concentric any more, but I got fast results with the BBB.

Thank you, Better Business Bureau, for helping me.

Edited to add: It looks like the entire nasty Amazon Minion group is out in force, to say whatever they can to keep Amazon customers who have suffered at Amazon's hands, from taking a minute to go make a free BBB complaint, which will be read by thousands of future potential Amazon customers who just might decide to deal with Walmart or another company instead of dealing with Amazon's many screwups.

Also, thank you to the anonymous person who gifted me with an award, I appreciate your positive feedback after dealing with the Minions.

Amazon Retribution over criticism

I criticized Amazon for sending me a toaster oven that was dirty and had dried food on it. Returned it. Next package was misdelivered (fortunately the person in my apartment complex who received it brought it to me the next morning.) Next two orders made 8 and 7 days ago have both been delayed although they said neither has been shipped ; Amazon won't tell me when they will be delivered, what the issue is, and have also told me I cannot cancel either order.

I find this behavior petty and unbusinesslike, but obviously the message being sent is that you better not say anything if they make mistakes.

Does Amazon review their returns? Dirty item with dried food on it sent.

I ordered a toaster oven from Amazon Resale. It arrived today and it was disgusting, it was dirty and had dried food on it. I am returning it.

I'm getting a refund, but wondering whether Amazon looks at its used items before selling them. Will the returned dirty toaster oven just get put back on the shelf for sale?

Amazon inventing new words to describe their used products

I ordered a toaster oven from Amazon Resale. It was described as being in 'mint' condition. It arrived today and it was disgusting, it was dirty and had dried food on it. I am returning it but asked customer sewrvice what 'mint' meant (to me I thought it mean something in pristine condition). The AI said the following and would not give me the option to ask a real person:

"As Customer Service, we can help with products, orders, account related issues, and subscriptions. While this isn't something I can support, there may be other ways I can help."

So it appears that Amazon is now making up new categories for their stuff. My advice? Don't buy 'mint'.
