Something about Spam is just so nostalgic. Back home, spam and egg is a legit breakfast staple. It always remind me of them school days when mom would quickly whipped up a fry up like this.
Finally put all the parts together. Looks good but I can’t find a proper spacer for the dial to hold it in place.
So I had to use the metal holder that came with the watch and fit some O-rings to fix it in place. The spacer that came with the case is now too high so cut and sand down about 3mm. In case of interest, it is a PE45 movement so PE50 stems work.
Voila!
Got this from DHgate and thinking, wow it feels rather substantial for plastic. Until I open it up and see how they put clay to weigh it down 🤣. Kind of impressed that the caseback has metal components to fake it instead of just print job.
Just ordered some stems and a metal case to house it now. I wonder if the piece of clay can be used as spacer. Do you guys know if there’s a PE45 to NH35 case spacer?
I love me some watches from the usual houses just like everyone else. However, I realise that out of my decent size collection, I wear the ones that I built most.
It feels more personal and means a lot more to me. I could also pick the elements that I love from certain brands and put them in one package.
Currently, the available parts are largely the same few online. If the hobby is more mainstream then we could get more creative parts.
Perfect lazy lunch whipped out in 15 min with leftover chicken from last night. Wish the soup to be more “intense”. ❤️
Cleared out the freezer and found some burger meat mix from couple of weeks ago. Cauliflower from dinner last night. Just cooked up some noodles and tossed in soy, oyster and sesame sauce. And creamy microwave scrambled eggs.
I messed this build up by cutting the stem too short. Thankfully I have abundance of stems lying around which I shall attempt tmr again.
Do you guys have any tips in this department? I usually measure and cut less than that. Then I just go 1mm less each time.
Hubby noticed I always end up scrubbing the pan after cooking egg and told me I can actually do that in the microwave.
Was sceptical at first but after following his instructions, it turned out AMAZING! And best part, just need to wash a bowl and done.

Been eyeing this gem since seeing it last year when on holiday. Ordered off eBay from Japan. Even after the import by tax, this brand new watch is still £100 cheaper than the official UK site.

I built a watch a while back but the texture and colour just don’t seem to do much for me. Want a much cleaner look and thus updated the dial.

Now that I am out, I wasted no time putting everything together. What do you guys think? Does it look better on strap or bracelet? I think it is rather versatile. And yes, I know I’ll get flamed by the size 🤣. Roast away. less
