DIY? no money, no insurance, and no blood drives

mom's C282Y homozygous to hear the tales, i've been donating but i got sick and the best dono site closed for renovations. there's no appointment for a month unless i go on a serious road trip (and then have no gas for a month), and my liver area's starting to hurt again.

my veins bulge with inflammation. every time i need a stick, no matter where i am, they give me the newest person on duty. it's never gone wrong.

can anyone walk me through what i need? i might know someone who'd order it for me. price is the factor, aside from minimally nominal safety (especially in anything reusable).

i'm usually eating vegan with all the iron reducing tricks, but lately there's been some dumpster dive grade overlap. also i eat north of 3000 calories a day just to maintain my underweight thanks to celiac disease.

i'm disabled and could never afford a diagnosis, i work for food (when i'm lucky). it's this or i try to find an underground boxing ring and try to take every hit on the nose, isn't it?

+7 hours: solved although not literally, yet. bolding the question anyway. already did. gonna mention i can't afford tests at the ER and my liver hurts etc.

picked up zinc and turmeric tips too.

+18 hours, post ER, post bath: good ideas but no therapeutic amount of blood loss yet.

and if anyone's curious, per usual, that hospital does not deserve its ultrasound imager, or almost all of its nurses. the brass differ only from the Killer Klowns from Outer Space in that the klowns want you to lose blood.

i have no good methionine sources. how much do i take?

i have no good methionine sources. how much do i take?

i have liver problems from hemochromatosis, there's celiac disease involved, and some things are out from MCAS and histamine intolerance at times. i also don't have medical care, but my diet's "WFPB" at the best of times, and my proteinuria hasn't been visible in a while... and i have "all" the vegan supplements, /j (krill oil was cheaper than algal), and no desire to eat more animal products than i have to for health. my tastebuds went over long ago, and eggs are also inconvenient (and can be high in iron for me, though i wouldn't count on them to fix anemia).

i eat a lot of other stuff, it's a high calorie diet (and i'm underweight), but with high protein turnover and likely problems. anyway i'm not looking to use it "temporarily:" i want to use it moderately for as long as i need it. i already use low dose B-A, glycine, and a fair amount of taurine at times, and get plenty of the others in foods IIRC. (and i don't think it's a good idea for me to add creatine before methionine).

i also take a 600mg NAC once in a while, i try to get ready for it. anyway i think it's time to give up on measuring out tiny amounts of spinach and brazil nuts, it never adds up even when i fall back on eggs.

so will a bulk bag (for humans) last me the rest of my life or what? anyone have experience? what don't i know, other than how to google without a chatbot or spending all night on google scholar? and is the last thing the answer for some good reason?

kindly asking everyone not to call this a fitness post because i might provide proof. i'm asking for dietary supplement advice, if that works. "too medical" works better for me.

edit, creatine recommendations anyone?

choline thread time again? whole food or small budget tips? my histamine intolerance isn't severe anymore, but non-egg if possible.

alpha GPC and CDP choline threads exist from years ago on this reddit.

i'm always bad at choline despite being a vegan in theory, i've had another few flexitarian-adjacent years lately, but also in theory, the only animal product i (personally) should need right now is krill oil for the hemochromatosis, and i can probably move to algal or whatever's cheaper or better for the environment later.

i end up with whole foods due to limitations actually, like sunflower seeds, which have been challenging for me in the past (with histamine intolerance, also they don't add up quickly, but i have a high intake, low weight problem), but go broad if you have tips there. i can at least kind-of tolerate enough egg now to round up my choline, but i'd rather not rely on eggs again.

frankly, can someone give me the story on supplementing it? i'm looking for a solo choline supplement, or the most absolutely easy lecithin recipes... but i keep ignoring it because even trying to avoid eggs around here, i only get a few months or years pocketed at a stretch when i'm "healthy", because they'll occasionally end up being the affordable thing i can eat from a store.

lecithin + fried rice, if i can find lecithin...? or, does anyone know of a supplement that will last? i'd ask r/supplements but i'm always a season or two behind on several supplements i need, so there's a price question.

Now Foods seems to have a choline and inositol, that might be on a shelf somewhere within my reach.

can i yank the tooth train back out of the pile-up?

43, smoker. celiac hemochromatic (and probably ATP7A), phleb is helping a lot.

one pointy jaw tooth has been going sideways for a while, it hurts and i think it's related to some gum retraction after i messed up my foods, but that's better. the "pileup" is visible but mostly the one pointy tooth is the bad thing, the real problem is not visible: the tooth train caboose has plenty of room due to removals, but it's tough bone. it's not swollen but there should be iron deposits in tissues that are going down (and reducing inflammation). can i drag a tooth through those healed sockets?

TLDR: can i yank the teeth back over a couple months? there is no sharp pain, bleeding, or swelling, but it makes me dizzy.

i probably can't afford anything but i'm open to ideas.

i think i'm seeing more lymph drain as i work and i think this will be easy, but please discuss.

Maricopa County Supervisor Describes Video of Election Ballot Scanner Removal: Debbie Lesko Says Footage Shows Recorder’s Staffer Taking Equipment Off-Site in Personal Truck | AZ Family

June 9, 2026 - Fulltext

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Maricopa County Supervisor Debbie Lesko has seen security video at the center of an investigation into the recorder’s office and described it in detail.

The video shows a staffer from the recorder’s office taking a ballot scanner off-site in his personal truck.

“This is just kind of insane,” Lesko said.

What the video shows

Lesko described what county security cameras captured this spring as results of a local Tempe election were being counted

“What I saw on video was Justin Heap’s chief information officer taking an election machine out of an election building, putting it in what seems to be a private truck, hauling it off over to the recorder’s office,” Lesko said.

Lesko said a pretabulation scanner was then taken up an elevator before it was returned about an hour later.

“And what’s even worse is they took ballots like envelopes out of a locked area. We don’t know what they did with them. We don’t know why he took this machine. We don’t know what happened to it,” Lesko said.

County response

Lesko and the board sought advice from the county attorney. They said the machine could no longer be used because what the recorder’s office did with it is unknown.

The county bought a new scanner last month for $70,000 in taxpayer money.

The incident led to an internal and a criminal investigation.

“Who does this kind of stuff? Who, after being said, you know, this equipment belongs to the election department, who just comes out and takes something, doesn’t get authority to do it. There’s no authorization,” Lesko said.

Heap requested that the courts end the criminal investigation and block any prosecution of the workers involved in taking the scanner and ballots. The request was filed Monday.

Heap did not respond to requests for comment.

The BLM might allow oil and gas drilling in northwest Arizona. One geologist is skeptical

Almost 80,000 acres of public land in northwest Arizona could be opened up for oil and gas drilling in December. That’s the basis of a May 12 proposal from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management to allow leasing in the region near Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument and the town of Littlefield.

Existing oil and gas wells in the area proposed for leasing are mostly abandoned or were for exploratory purposes and are not productive, according to a map by the Arizona Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.

The BLM’s proposal comes after the major tax and spending cuts bill President Donald Trump signed into law last year, which prioritizes expanding oil and gas production nationwide.

“Arizona remains an important oil and gas state in our administration's priority on strengthening American energy production,” said Bill Groffy, the BLM’s acting director, in a press release announcing the leasing proposal. “This lease sale, which will be the first to be held in Arizona since 2018, will extend our streak of successful oil and gas lease actions under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.”

The public comment period ends on June 11.
