Occasional public charging struggles ..?
I occasionally have trouble getting my P4 to charge on public chargers, normally blaming the charger.
Yesterday at a larger services with a large bank of Ionity fast charges I tried one, “unable to connect to car”, moved and “unable to connect to car”. I moved again and this time my mind was in “stupid effing car” mode when it didn’t work. I got in did a reset, which for some reason set the alarm off and got the horn blaring. Sure enough I got a successful connection and the charger kicked off at 200 kWh.
Makes me wonder how many times I’ve blamed a charger and moved on, when it may have been this “stupid effing car” all along.
Graphical Glitches
There’s lots of them in the new update. Pets also half blank in places
Balance 2 AOD
I bought a Balance 2 for activities and days out where I don’t want to wear one of my automatic watches and so far it seems OK. I’ve had many smart watches before and one thing I really dislike about the B2 is the AOD watch faces.
Why can’t they just be a simpler version of the face I’m using or a less colourful version rather than flipping between two completely different and seemingly fully functional watch faces? For me I find this jarring and the AOD faces are too busy in general. The AOD face may as well be the main face just always on and dimmed…
Is this just the way it is or am I missing a setting or something?
Book ending vs film
I just wondered if the book describes more about the state of the climate on Earth once The Beatles get back? Obviously we see snow and Stratt travelling on an ice breaker in the film eluding to the fact the earth has cooled but do we know more?
UK public chargers and VAT receipts
I’m travelling a bit more for work now in my P4 and have been charging wherever I feel like with no preference on network or type and have been tapping to pay. The problem is getting a VAT receipt, some make it next to impossible. Some chargers don’t even show on the screen what I’ve spent after I’ve pressed stop…
Is Polestar Charge the solution to this or is there a better way. Can someone ELI5 me on how best to set this up please?
The Twelve in the Bergamo sun
This dial really pops in the sunlight and the lume is charged for later!

Don’t accidentally press the park button while driving
I mistakenly pressed the park button while driving at around 30mph, stupidly getting the wrong side when I meant to hit the screen wash.
Anyway the car threw out the anchors and we had a sudden jolt and slow down before it realised that I probably didn’t want to immediately park there and then.
Partly my fault I know but I’m not impressed that it would attempt to do this at all while driving at speed.
Passenger side air vent
Please can someone tell me if air flow from the passenger side air vent (long one above the glove box) comes out strong and across the whole vent?
On mine it’s really weak and only venting through the far side near the door and it’s impossible for the passenger to get much cool air on their face at all. The small one on the drivers side is similar in that air only vents from the side nearest the steering wheel but at least the flow is a bit stronger from that one. Neither are doing as much as the vent under the infotainment screen.
Near miss
To the silly bitch in the grey van (larger than a transit) coming towards Warwick having come from the M40 South J14. Get off your phone, you were on the wrong side of the road and if you’d have hit that guy in the classic car you would have killed him!
I was just behind the classic car and it made me so angry seeing that.
I thought I was going to buy a C60 GMT (blue/white dial) but ended up getting a Zulu Time. I still had room for a white dial in my collection and wanted something I could dress up a little (and down).
The Twelve 40mm fits the bill perfectly. Really happy with the look and feel.
So I charged a few days ago and only reached slow speeds on a 150 kW charger of 54 kW. I was a bit suspicious so I’ve been back to a fast charger today and exactly the same, 54 kW.
I don’t charge often on the road but when I first got the car it did charge at 150 kW at a fast charger.
I guess it’s going to have to go in but for now everything seems to work with my home charger. I’m just not going to want to do a trip of over 300 miles.
Fortunately I think I can take it in to Volvo just 1 mile away from me. Fingers crossed.
Hello,
I’d like to put up a picture shelf above my bed (IKEA MOSSLANDA). I was going to use rawl plugs in the plasterboard, but with it being above our heads I’d sleep better knowing it’s fixed in to a stronger material.
I’ve drilled in to the breeze blocks on other walls in my house to put up curtain rails, but never in a shared wall. I’m thinking i’d tape my drill bit at 80mm, so I’d have at least 10mm extra beyond the tip of the 5x70 screw. This would mean drilling 50mm in to the breezeblock.
Is there a standard thickness for breezeblocks/party walls? It’s a 1990s semi-detached house. I don’t want to drill through in to my neighbour’s bedroom!
