How do I stop this from happening again ?

Hi all,

I left a wooden door infront of one of my trifold double glazed doors, and came back a week later to find the panel like the picture below. My understanding is that the heat got trapped. My question is, how do I stop this from happening again? Would a blackout curtain cause the same issue?
I am also being quoted £515 (cheapest) up to £900 to have this fixed. What is the usual cost for a job like this? including both glass and labour?

how to reuse old pine skirting board

Hi all,

going through a renovation on a new property. There are some old pine skirting board with a darker colour, they are your standard BQ pine skirting board.

I am not sure what it was put on them, whether it was varnish, oil, or just old.

I will need to buy some skirting board as some of the old ones broke when removing.

All of this to ask, how can I match the new skirting board with the old one in colour? I am looking to Satin Varnish all of the skirting board, door frames and door as they are all the same colour currently.

I am still learning about what you add to wood, and its all quite overwhelming. Should I pre-stain, then stain, then varnish the new pieces? or should I just stain and varnish?

For the old pine skirting board, the door frames and doors, do I just varnish them with satin after a slight sand and remove old paint?

any help is much appreciated.

Interview at Crowdstrike

Hi folks,

just passed my hiring manager interview at Crowdstrike and going for the technical interview next week. Any tips on what to expect? I am a security assurance/cloud architect by trade looking to transition.

Im refreshing common attack types and defenses, getting a high level of the falcon platform, attack paths etc. Should I be prepping anything specific?

much appreciated.

Video is sped up x16 - how can I fix it

Hi

I have a video that is sped up x16, and would like to bring it back to normal, x1.

I have tried different things such as shutter encoder, audacity to fix the audio but ultimately, nothing really worked. If the video is somewhat watchable, the audio is corrupted.

Im not hugely techy, any help would be much appreciated.

Renovate skirting board or buy new

I’m wondering if it’s worth to go through all the trouble to remove this glue and whatever is glued to it, or if I should just buy new skirting boards ? I’d like to keep cost low as I’m already decorating and removing the carpets for laminated flooring. I also don’t have a lot of time to as I’m working on a tight deadline.

if the cost of new is reasonable then fair enough, my worry is finding the same colour skirting to match the door and door skirting

i cant seem to attach picture - but here is the link to another post: https://www.reddit.com/r/DIYUK/comments/1v0p2vi/renovate_skirting_board_or_buy_new/

Make Mt Fuji more visible and less cloudy

hi

just looking at our proposal pictures, can someone help remove the clouds so the mountain is more visible. I attached the last picture as a reference for how the mountain looked like that day with clearer skies
