Remember this kit?

Did anyone else get one of these make-up kits for a birthday or Christmas? It was a Dick Smith "Movie/TV Horror Make-up" kit. Basically plastic molds that you filled with mixed powder and water slurry. Place it in the fridge and after it set you could remove the facial appliances from the molds and stick them to your face with the supplied spirit gum. I won a trophy in Cub Scouts in 77 for "Spookiest Costume".

Edit: added pics, not sure why they didn't post the first time.

Solar Trickle Charger Recommendations?

I had a scare this morning, went to start my 02 GT and got he Theft warning light, no start. It turned out just to be low voltage on my battery. Jumped it and all was well. I hadn't driven the it in about 2 weeks, so I'm looking to see what recommendations I can get on a solar trickle charger. I keep the car parked outside under a reflective car cover. Thanks!

As we get older, do we prefer our space in the bed?

57m, I've noticed over the course of the last 10yrs or so my wife (57f) and I prefer our sides of the bed. It's not only the side, but the space. We share a king size bed, and might hold hands while watching a movie before bedtime. She lasts about 15mins before I hear her snoring. There's no more cuddles or spooning now, no more sleeping on my arm, and that's probably a good thing, don't think the joints could take that now.

She's gone through menopause as well, and needs a fan on her constantly during the night. On the other hand, I now prefer things a bit warmer. I remember back in the day the room had to be 71f to feel comfortable. Now, 77f is just fine as long as there is air movement.

We are still very much in love with each other, just curious if others are experiencing the same thing.

Edit: Really surprised at the number of separate bedroom folks are responding, not in a bad way. Never knew the Desi and Lucy sleeping arrangement was a real thing.

Escape from LA and Fords

I rewatched Escape from LA a few days ago, as I was in the military in 96 and missed it in theaters. Then I realized all of the Ford vehicles in the movie, with a few Mustangs. I hope they didn't ruin a bunch of them Foxbodies.

I'm Hooked on Mustangs

As a 57m I just felt like sharing some photos of some the Mustangs I've had in my life. My first ride was in a new 85 GT and I've been hooked on them ever since. I'm enjoying seeing everyone's Stangs.

My first car at 16 was an 84 GT. It only took me a week before a friend talked me into putting headers on it, and that was the end of the story. I converted it to true dual exhaust, and had to use some custom oval tubing to go arounf the transmission mount because back then it was only a single notch for clearance. Nothing but glasspacks and monza tip resonators exiting before the rear wheels. Got a huge CC cam, which forced me to get new lifter seats and springs. If I was doing that, I might as well throw some 351 heads on and get new flat top pistons, and get them ported and polished too. The intake went to dual high rise fitted with 600cfm Holley Street Advengers. That needed a hole in the hood, cover with a 2-peice snorkle scoop.

Then I met a girl and she complained the car was too loud and fast. I had a solid job at 18 ($9hr) so traded "down" for a new 87 GT Vert. I had planned to leave this one bone stock, but a couple of years later a drunk driver t-boned me and totaled the car. Didn't know enough about lawsuits and the like, bit did get all the required medical bills covered.

Not pictured was my 65 with a 170, white with blue Pony interior. I picked it up for $1750, and was an idiot for selling it back in the day. With the cash I was able to get into an 86 SVO. I enjoyed that car a lot, had great handling and the seats were really nice. It also had a sunroof.

Life and family happened, so had a couple conservative cars until I was able to get back into a 91 GT. I got some knock-off SVO side pipe covers from Fiberglass Specialties, but this time a little tammer with bullet mufflers and dual monza tip resonators again. Life and family struck again, and had to get a more practical car.

Few years later I got a chance to a 14 GT with Track Pack the option, that was really fun, and I loved the Coyote and 6-speed. I was going to keep that one stock as well, but another driver had different plans. I used to commute 120 miles and it was only a matter of time before I became a statistic on I-95 south of Orlando.

Now I'm driving a 02 GT Vert, no plans for serious mods, more restoration. Feels good to sit behind a Blue Oval and Mustang again. I know it probably won't be my last Mustang, I need to give an S550 a serious consideration down the line... or a 69 Fastback.

Son's First Car

I am in Florida for context. My son will soon be 16, and I've been driving it into his head since he was 13 he needs to save money for his first car. He plays a lot of video games and is into the JDM scene and similar performance mods. I told him I'd give him the same deal my dad gave me: I'll match what you manage to save. Going off this deal, he should have about $6-8k to spend. I'll cover his insurance the first couple of years, but gas, maintenance and any modifications he wants are on him.

I'm a Ford loyalist (anything pre 2020) and was willing to get him into a 99-04 Mustang GT, as the 4.2L 2V is a really reliable engine, and the whole car is, in general, easy to work on. My wife flat our refuses because she doesn't think he deserves a sports car as a first car. She's also concerned about giving him a 25+ year old car, and I also know zero about other foreign brands.

My first car was an 84 Mustang GT, hers was a Dodge Omni (not the GLH). So as a compromise, I'm now trying to push my son into something newer, a 13-15 Ford Focus ST. I know about the issues with the plastic purge valves, and rubber engine mount. My wife doesn't mind it due to it having 4 doors, she doesn't see it as a sports car.

So thanks for hanging in there with the long intro, but do think a 20 year old Focus ST with about 100k miles would be a good first car to get him started in life?

Terminator Bumper thoughts?

I think the Terminator front bumper is the best looking option for New Edges, hands down. I also think they are too common now, and if your Mustang isn't making over 390rwhp, one enters the "poser" category. Just a hangup I have, similar thoughts on Cobra badges on a standard GT.

Having said all that (and getting a lot of dislikes and frowns), I'd like to know what other front bumper covers should I be looking at to enhance the uniqueness of a New Edge?

Grandkids and Husky

So we were a little apprehensive with our grandkids being around our husky, as he's been know to be nippy at times. I was on a business trip this week and got home to this. Apparently the grandkids introduced our husky to scissors. Luckily it's just his hair, no skin invloved.

Fetch!

Does your husky actually fetch? My Kibo loves fetch, day or night. Glow in the dark balls are awesome, I only wish they came in the XL size. He's good for a solid 6-10 throws across our backyard. He loves catching them on the bounce, all four paws off the ground.

Finally!

At 4 months old his first bed was chewed into nothing. Second bed came when he was 8 mo the old, and was chewed less, but Kibo would pee on it like a pad (which he was never trained to do). Third and final attemp, and at 16 months old he's sleeping on his bed as intended. Unsure of why, but I'll take it as a win.

Not the Horse I wanted

When you (me, 57m) realize the horse you get is a Chaley Horse on a short drive with a heavy clutch. I guess stretches are in my future.

Speaker covers

On my 2002 GT Convertible, are these top speaker covers unique to the convertibles? I'd like to replace this one, but I wasn't sure. Seems like the only online choice is eBay. Thanks.

Reglue of rear window 02 GT

Finger-crossed this works like the 10 videos I watched on YouTube. Using Berkland Auto Glass polyurethane adhesive. I could use some advice on the inner material, as that it separated as well. Would that just be Step 2 after the top side cures overnight?

I have a 2002 GT (my first of this gen), and was looking to replace the bent-up wet noodle with a new one. I stumble across LMR saying there was a Ford tech bulletin saying use the Black, shorter one with 6qts of oil. My car has has 125k on it, has it been a quarter short it's whole life? Should I buy the Black one or stick with Yellow?
