Hey everyone,
I’m looking for recommendations for a shop that can repair a small crack in my car’s windshield. A rock hit my windshield on the freeway, and there’s a crack about 1 inch long, roughly the size of a quarter, near the bottom where the wipers are located. From what I've read online, it seems that the crack can be repaired with resin instead of needing a full replacement.
I received a quote from Safelite for $2000 for the repair, which seems outrageous, especially since even a brand-new OEM windshield doesn’t cost that much.
It's a 2026 Toyota Camry XSE. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Honestly, I love my Toyota. It drives great, has a ton of features, and I really appreciate the reliability. But there's one thing that's bugging me. It’s disappointing to see that so many competitors in the same price range (or even less) are offering cooled charging pads for their wireless chargers, and yet Toyota still hasn't included this feature.
I do a lot of driving, and while I love using the wireless charger, it can get so damn hot, especially in the summer. Having that extra bit of cooling would make a noticeable difference. I'm a little surprised that Toyota hasn’t caught on to this trend since it feels like such a basic but useful feature at this point.
EDIT: idk why so many of you are getting upset, don't get me wrong, I love the Camry, but its unargueable that for $40K Toyota could have easily added an active cooling charger espically when competitors like Hyundai, Kia, and Honda (Touring only) are putting it in some of their mid-sized sedans as well
I was driving on the freeway when a rock hit my windshield, leaving a crack near the bottom by the wipers. It’s less than 3 inches, and I can only see it from the outside. I wanted to get it fixed, so I went to Safelite, which quoted me $2000 for a repair. To make things more frustrating, my insurance with AAA refused to help, even though I have comprehensive coverage.
I then called my dealership, and the person on the phone said they use a third party for repairs that could do it for $75. They advised me to come in so they could assess whether it could be fixed and set up an appointment. However, when I went there and asked three different employees about it, they all said they didn’t know and that they don’t offer that service.
Now, I'm trying to figure out if this crack can be repaired or if I’ll need to replace the whole windshield. Does anyone have experience with this kind of situation? What do you think?

EDIT: I live in SoCal if that makes a difference
Hey y’all
I was wondering if you could help me locate a suitable screen protector for my iPad Pro 13”. I purchased the ESR Amorite 7x, but screen reflections are distracting, the surface feels excessively slippery, and my folio case shifts around instead of attaching securely through magnetism.
I’m seeking a low-profile screen protector or film—glossy or matte works for me. I primarily use my iPad for taking careful notes during my courses, with little other use. Although magnetic screen protectors are available, I tried an ESR Matte magnetic version on my earlier iPad and found it unsatisfactory.
EDIT: I’m not interested in spending too much money I personally don’t find the value in sending $50-60 for a screen protector
Unfortunately, I didn't have AppleCare+ either, and it was way past the window to get AppleCare+ as well. But thankfully, I have two good homies that work at my local Apple Store, and they were able to hook me up with AppleCare+ after the window, and I was able to get a replacement phone lol. I guess everything works out in the end lol.
This happened on I-5, about 20 miles outside Los Angeles, California.
Thankfully, both people were okay and weren't injured.
Additionally, to clarify for anyone thinking I was "left lane camping", I was actually going around a tour bus on my right, which is why I merged back into that lane. And it’s SoCal; no one treats the left lane as an overtake lane; the leftmost lane is just the fastest lane.
Hey y'all
I just picked up my first new car, a brand-new Camry, and I couldn't be more excited! I barely turned 21 and am living in SoCal. I wanted to get your thoughts on the OTD I got.
I paid a total of $38,500 OTD, which includes the Premium Package. I put down $10K and financed the rest because the interest was so low, at a 1.99% interest rate. It was a no-brainer, and I'm planning to pay off the rest within a year.
I also got the car nano-ceramic tinted: 15% all around, 50% on the front windshield, and 70% on the panoramic roof, and have been loving it!
