Before ordering the Gen 2 upgrade for my Core One+, I though I'd look through the upgrade guide. It appears it's going to be a lot more involved than when I upgraded my MK4 to an MK4S.
I know it's not any kind of a big deal in the age of modern printers with load cell technology, but I just love the way the first layer and base is coming out on the model I'm printing this morning.
This may be old news to some, but I just stumbled across this today while doing some research on the INDX system.

IT's the end of the week and I'm finishing up this week's cold cuts. Boar's Head roast beef, honey ham, baby Swiss, fire roasted sweeet red pepper, broccoli microgreens and garlic aioli on toasted seeded Jewish rye.

Does anybody have any experience printing this in their C1? I purchased my first roll of American Filament white lithophane PLA based on several positive reviews. I got it yesterday and it's been nothing but a nightmare in my C1+. I've tried the same print multiple times and they've all failed with underextrusion, severe stringing or filament jam issues. One was bad enough to where I had to remove the nozzle and clear the jam using a heat gun. The same print has just worked flawlessly with 2 other filaments. I've dried the filament for 6 hours. I've tried different nozzle temps from the bottom to the top of their recommended print settings. I've changed print speeds and it's still failing. The filament seems to have a rough surface texture feel while on the spool and doesn't bend as easily as other PLA. The model texture is smooth when it does manage to print. I'm wondering if it's a bad roll or if it's just creating too much drag friction through the C1 filament path.
EDIT: I've moved the filament over to one of my MK4S printers and it seems to be working much better than any of the previous attempts. I guess it's actually a problem with the relatively restrictive filament path on the C1+ and this filament's physical properties.
I've been experimenting with different materials and lighting for these moon lamps. I got my AC power cords with an inline dimmer switch in today. The light source is a 6W dimmable LED E12 bulb. Here's 2 moon lamps outfitted with the new pluggable, dimmable light source. The one on the left was made with matte white PLA and the one on the right was made with semi-translucent lithophane PLA. The one on the right is at its dimmest setting and the one on the left as it brightest. When I turn up the one on the right, it can be used as a lamp. THe moon was printed on my C1+ and the stands on one of my MK4S.
Time to finish this week's cold cuts. Low sodium roast beef, turkey, baby Swiss, fire roasted sweet peppers, mixed microgreens, romaine lettuce (because I ran out of microgreens) and garlic aioli on toasted local sourdough.
My BigAss™ sandwich for today is ham, turkey, roast beef, smoked cheddar, roasted sweet red peppers, beefsteak tomato, mixed microgreens and mayo on toasted seeded Jewish rye bread.
I just finished a second 29-ish hour print on my Core One+, and it was once again a zero drama event. These machines usually just run and run and create great output. Anytime my prints fail the likelihood it was a me problem and not a printer problem is very high. Having learned 3D printing back when on an OG Ender 5, my first Prusa printer was a night and day reliability/repeatability difference. Granted, the industry has changed a lot since I started printing but even my old upgraded MK3.5 machines are still rock solid.
Today's hunger inspired BigAss™ sandwich is low sodium roast beef, baby Swiss, fire roasted red pepper, beefsteak tomato, mixed microgreens and chipotle mayo on a toasted ciabatta roll.
I printed this on my Prusa Core One+. It took about 29 hours. The LED light I ordered for it won't arrive until Saturday, but I used one of my rechargeable work lights to test. Here's how it came out.
I've had this since it was new. Found it in in a cabinet under my workbench. It still works and boots. Unfortunately it got separated from its keyboard and mouse at some point. I will hopefully find them. Note the impressive 1Mbyte of RAM!
Another abstract Christmas photo.
One of my kids made this years ago. I just came across it in a folder of unprocessed RAW files from the end of last year.
