Added this to the stack today!

Traded 2 1/10th oz platinum for 1 oz silver maple, 1 2.5 peso gold, and 3 Merc dimes.
The platinum never really vibed with my stack so I wasn’t sad to trade it in. And my first Gold Peso!

Bought some sterling at an antique shop for the first time

Today I went antiquing with my wife at some local shops and in one of them there were several sterling spoons/knives/salt and pepper shakers. I’ve always bought coins but I decided to buy two spoons. He knew that I knew silver and that he had the prices jacked up, so we dickered the price down 20% off his listed price. I paid $55 for 39.3 grams of sterling. Which is 36.3525 grams of pure silver. Or 1.1688 trophy ounces of silver for just $55. Considering spot right now is around $65. I’m pretty happy with it! I’m planning on going back and buying some more soon. My safe feels kinda weird with spoons in it, I’m not gonna lie.

It finally happened to me!

I always glance in the returns of coin stars when I see them, but I’ve never seen anything before. Not even pennies. Today I looked and I found a very shiny friend staring back. A silver 1948 dime!

Results of $800 in bank rolled dimes

I went to one of my regular pick up banks and they told me a business dropped off $800 in rolled dimes today. I asked for $500 of them, and the manager asked if I could take them all because they were taking space in the safe. I looked at them over the course of 3 days and my results were 4 90% silver dimes! This about even with my regular results of around 1 per $250 box of bank rolls.

Viability of constitutional for barter

Hello everyone, I am a new stacker growing my portfolio and I currently have my 17ish ozt of silver in 3 varieties. 50% into bullion like ASEs and AUS kangaroos and whatnot. 25% into Morgan/peace dollars. And 25% into constitutional halves, quarters, and dimes. The more I think about it. Is it smart for me to stack the small silver? Or stick with Morgan’s and bullion. Or just bullion. What do you all think? I’m willing to accept criticism and hear all sides.

STL S mint 2017 give away

Hello everyone. While silver hunting a box of quarters (I found one!) I happened to find an S mint business strike 2017. It’s in pretty good condition. I know they’re worth around $4 but personally I don’t think it’s worth the hassle of selling it. I also don’t want to just put it back into circulation. Is there anyone on here from the St. Louis mo area who would like me to give it to you? HMU!

Silver/gold trading up to save space?

In your experience, can I take 10 ounces of ASEs or rounds and exchange them at my local LCS for a 10 ounce bar to save on storage? Same if I have 10 1/10th ounce gold pieces, can I exchange them for a 1 ounce coin? Does anyone have any experience with doing something like this to save on storage space? Thank you

Advice on getting a safe

What’s your advice for weighing down a safe that I can’t bolt to the floor. Bricks? Copper bars? The safe is 2 feet tall. How do I make it heavy enough that someone can’t (or can’t easily) get it out of the house if they were to break in.

Garage/estate sales

I see people all the time find old silver coins/sterling/misc silver at garage sales and estate sales. How common is this? Is it worth it to spend a day off cruising for garage sales? If you have any experience with this let me know. Thank you! Also, how do you find garage sales other than just looking for signs?

One box down, 4 silver dimes up.

Heck of a box this morning. I was getting skunked for the first 2/3 or so of the box and found all 4 in the last handful of rolls.

Creating a relatable stacking YouTube channel, opinions?

I have not created anything yet and I’m not promoting any future channel I may create, but would YOU enjoying seeing an ‘everyman’ stacker making videos? I’m of modest means and can accumulate 2-4 ozt of silver per month and very occasionally trade some of it up into gold. I enjoy watching videos about stacking but it’s always from people with tables and tables of silver and gold and I feel sort of left out. Like because I can’t make big purchases I’m not a good enough stacker. So would you guys enjoy some modest stacking content, with educational videos, silver and gold history, and/or recaps of my purchases every month. So even the small stacker can relate to the person on the screen? Let me know and if there seems to be a lot of interest in something like this I might just create it. Or maybe one of you could do it to!
Thank you

Adding Morgan/Peace dollars to the stack? What’s your opinion

I posted something similar to this in a Morgan Dollar facebook group and I guess the mods didn’t like it so it never got approved.
I am a pretty new stacker, I started late January and I’m up a little over 12 ounces. Split evenly between American silver eagles and constitutional silver. I’ve been interested in adding Morgan/peace dollars to my stack, but they cost more per $1 face than constitutional at my LCS and I was wondering if you all think it’s worth it to add them or if I should stick to what I’m doing.
For anyone wondering why I don’t stack generic silver, I’ve thought long and hard about it and done some tax research and since I plan to accumulate quite a lot of silver over the years, owning silver that is not subject to sales tax is why I am steering clear of generic. Thank you for coming to my ted talk and I look forward to hearing all of your opinions.
