yall guys don't love enough this album. the instrumentals are great, very fast and techical jazz punk album with great instrumentation and inprovisation, black flag's instrumentals are kinda underrated since they're a punk band and ppl tend to just listen the early stuff or skip family man and the process of wedding out (amazing album also). greg ginn's composition is amazingly complex compared to the rest of punk scene and even jazz musicians, but the highlight here is for Bill Stevenson with his ecletic and fast drums and Kira Roessler with her catchy basslines (she's probably the greatest bassist in punk behind Klaus Fluoride) shoutout to account for what, best song by far

the poetry is great! of course, it's not nearly as polished compared to the later henry rollins spoken word albums but still nice, i particulary like the way that he describes the surroundings and the stories that he tells, rattus norvigivcus, no depoit no return or even armageddon man are pretty creative. the way that he delivers his sentences in let your fingers do the walking is amazing, his entonation is almost frightening sometimes

everything clashes in armageddon man, a 9 minute epic combining spoken word and jazz punk instrumentation, for me, one of the peaks of black flag

when it comes to black flag, i've always been a huge fan since i started listening to them. damaged is one of the best debuts of all time, my war is one of my favorites of all time, family man its pretty underrated (a truly hidden gem) and then we have slip it in, i was ecxited for this one since everyone talks about how this album is more harsher instead of experimental and.... it's mid..

the problem is, this record is waaaay more long and dragged out that it should be, for exemple, slip it in it's nearly 6:20, black coffee is 5 minutes and you're not evil is 7:10, i'm a fan on long songs (hell i even say that my war's b side is the greatest b side evermade) but slip it in It doesn't hold up as an amazing album or one that's better than the others; it's mediocre, with mostly sluggish and excessively repetitive songs just the same damn annoying riff for five or six minutes straight.

Overall, I’d rather listen to *Live '84*, since I can at least tolerate the tedium of that record. That said, tracks like "Obliteration," "Rat's Eyes," and "My Ghetto" are incredible; I just think most of the songs could have been trimmed down to the 3-to-4-minute range. After a while, they just become unbearable with those repetitive riffs and Henry Rollins screaming the same thing over and over.

while going through the dk's discography ive found myself in deep love with the first 3 releases, when it comes to frankenchrist i'd say that it's a nice record, not one particulary catchy but it's fine. when it comes to bedtime for democracy i just notice how everything unique from the kennedys has been thrown away and replaced with generic instrumentation and mediocre lyrics

this is not my dead kennedys, this is just a generic band that jello is singing with.. idk i just cant fw this album at all, i mean, even the cover art sounds unfinished and generic

there so many albuns that don't show the "rate tracks" button, and i wonder if it's possible to rate withouth this button

this song fucking rocks, despite Jello not liking it, i still think that's one of the best Dead Kennedys songs, specially the brutal lyrics and killer bass tone

sadly Youtube seems to remove this track, which is a shame, because the critic nature of this song clashes directly with what there's on many websites around the web, incluiding youtube
